That’s a awesome idea for the skid plates. I received mine a couple days ago and I put it through the ringer (which I am VERY impressed with) and the body is burnt up from the asphalt 🤣.
I’m going to have to redesign it with screws. Unfortunately the glue isn’t holding on hard crashes

Skid plates are awesome man, the rustler 4x4 needs one above the front body mount. That’s where it hits when it rolls over. I made a make shift one myself out of an old roof rack.
This is nice looking. Along with a fantastic strengthen frame. Just wish they made them bigger.
me too. I tend to reach for the smaller scale for a quick bash over the bigger 1/10 cars
For anybody still looking for information on these they no longer come with two body shells. Learned that recently.
Not sure if I just got lucky, but I ordered a few weeks ago and mine came with two shells. They were the new ones too, with the roof reinforcements and bars. I know they were just doing one for a while, so maybe they accidentally slipped an extra in my box. You’re right though, they stopped around November 2022 if I remember right.

I think they have a brushed version of the 18th scale as well because I just saw it in my Amazon feed for like $82... I really like that little mini drill you use to get the differentials apart in this video.

When you say heat shield do you mean the heat sink for the motor? This truck is plenty fast on 3S. Check out my other video on it

Bought one of these for myself last night after getting a Hailstorm for my son for Christmas. This will be my first rc car in 20 years, I fly rc planes also though. His is very impressive ran it on 3s this morning, WOW that woke it up. Do you think the metal diff gears and shafts from these will fit the hailstorm? Seem like same exact chassis in pics anyways
I believe they will. I haven’t seen one of the new hailstorms in person but the older ones were exactly the same
@@413RC thanks kinda what I'm guessing, from the looks of it most of the drivetrain is same in most of these
I find my rear shocks to be a bit soft. Swapped them over with some HBX16889A Pro shocks (£6) and a much better. Won't bottom out at a 1ft drop anymore. Back end doesn't squat as much under acceleration either

Does anyone know where to get spare pinions on the Internet for for these models? I CHECKED ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND NOBODY HAS THE PINION THAT FITS WITH THE SPUR GEAR! someone please help me find the spare! Either fir the 2mm shaft or 3mm shaft!
I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and it's not nearly as tough as the 16th scale version! My main gripe with it is the tires are horrible and the thing just does Donuts if you don't really use a ton of throttle control. Also the rear diff cups always come loose on me. I guess I got a Loctite them. Any suggestions on better tires?
I feel ya! these stock tires are pretty hard. try looking on amazon for some 12mm hex on road tires
