In today's video we take a ride with what some say is the BEST 1/16 scale RC basher on the market. Does the HBX 16890SA really live up to the HYPE?

Nice feature. This car is super tough. That battery tray is a big annoyance for me but if you’re a creative mind you can most definitely make a 3s work. That skatepark bash was epic! 👍✌🏼
Yeah the battery tray is a bit of a bummer because it performed so good on 3s, I don't imagine anyone wouldn't want to drive it on 3s at least half the time.
850mah 3s work like stock size and last way longer. I now only run 3s with throttle at 60% and 100% when i want to go crazy (different esc and remote).
I m so glad you made this vid . I’ve been raving about it for about two months . Derby city was liking it so we got two . Yeah it’s good RC ing when you don’t worry about breaking a 1/8 or 1/10:size and can just learn how to control these pups a bit before moving up . Great vid . 👍👍

Nice ! You will like this . The rlaarlo 3s brushless is $123 . They’re both great . This one’s special in that it goes and goes plus hbx has a 90 day parts warranty that they stand behind . The have a 3s battery for this now as well that is the same size but taller than the 2s , it’s like $15 or so . Very happy with this pup . Thanks hbx . Use the link and go get one . 👍. Hbx has your back for 90 days . They did me right is why I say and the car is really goood . It’s a damn good price imho for this RC car .
We might have to check out that rlaarlo especially for such a great price. I've heard HBX takes care of their customers, another reason I was proud to review this car from them.

It lives up to the hype. Big nam, budget, it doesn't matter as long as the car lives up.
It really is . We have two and they keep going and going . In all honesty 2s is enough . I did shear some diff screws seeing what it could take and it took a lot , lol . $5 replacement and super easy . Drives straight
Nice race ! That’s what happened to me except the nitro 2nd gear kicked in and pulled ahead but it was close just like that . Little hbx can hang . It s one of the RC s I like to grab for around the yard .
Very impressive esp at the skatepark, it took some really hard hits
I can't believe it tossed a shaft without any of them bending, and it took a ton just to not actually break the car. There were jumps I cut out of the edit to stay under 15 minutes.

Hbx doesn’t make a bad RC. They’re tough and handle well. And they pass the Johnny crash test too lol
That thing is awesome. I can't believe what I put it through just to NOT actually break it.
I have this hbx an the first one that came out with the other colored body, the new one handles alot better an great on 3s
I thought it handled really good for such a small wheelbase. Impressive little car for sure!

It's a tough little car, not sure parts support is as good as with a Typhon, but you can certainly get parts for it.
Looks identical to an MJX HYPER GO.
On the surface yes, but internally it's completely different. Different chassis, electronics, drive shafts and shocks.

@@RCDEPENDANT for the size, price, and budget specs, the build quality is great. Good bearinga, all metal gearing. Very good little car.
I can't believe how well it ran even with the hinge pin displacement. Every time I have a hinge pin come out on my cars it normally destroys the bulkhead as well.
It shed some parts but nothing broke
I got the 18th scale one and its a ripper too.
I'm really liking HBX, I'll have to feature them a bit more!

That's a banger of a car. Easy work to make a good video when the car can participate like that one can.
I drove this straight into a stop sign at full speed on 3s . Rear dogbones popped out and the chassis broke by the steering block area . Easy fix . 40 mph at least and it hit and dead stop , lol . 😂. It was all my fault . They just put the sign there apparently .
I really need to pick up one of the HBX trucks at somepoint. I’ll be honest I’m mostly interested in their 1/18 2197 drift although there are a lot of great options!
I looked up that little drift car, it does look very interesting. I also might feature the 1/12 scale HBX soon. It looked like a decent vorteks clone

Well, there's the proof right there! CNHL worth the money for sure Glad to see Brian getting some love, he deserves it! Always out there grinding and testing stuff, saving us all kinds of time and money!
Brian is a good guy, he puts a lot of effort into his tests and a good bit of science towards his in depth battery related content.
