Top Ten Pokemon Boss Battles

- Hello everyone, and welcome to the third episode of PokeMonth. Now, other than the creatures themselves, there's definitely one thing that has defined the Pokémon franchise: the battles, more specifically the boss battles. Now, in a franchise filled with battles, a lot of people have different ideas about what is and is not a boss battle in the series, so keep that in mind when watching this list. I will be judging these battles based on buildup, difficulty, memorability and diversity. One last thing: I won't be including any bosses from the spin-off games. I already talked about them enough in last week's episode, and they're tough to judge against the standard Pokémon battle. Lastly, I made this video before Pokemon Black 2 / White 2 were released, so anything beyond that point will not be included.

Gen 4 will always be my favorite, probably considering it was my first Pokemon game experience. But, since I'd never actually played the games before, the first time I beat the Elite Four at ten years old I thought it was over. But then out of nowhere comes Cynthia and I swear I almost started crying because my entire team at that point was destroyed and she absolutely MURDERED me.
The exact same thing happened to me with Emerald. The first time I made it past the Elite four in Emerald, all I had left was a Swampert with 2 HP when Wallace decided to pop up. You'd better believe that ticked me off something fierce.
I liked gen 4 but it was to damn slow

10- Sailor Dylan, who likes feisty kids like you.
9- The Rocket Grunt on Nugget Bridge who wouldn't take yes for an answer.
8- Snorlax.
7- The Rocket Grunt who was just guarding a poster.
6- Lt. Surge......'s henchman, Gentleman Tucker, who fought with him during the war.
5- The army of Zubats in Mt. Moon.
4- Camper Flint on Route 25. He's a cool guy. He's got a girlfriend.
3- The Rocket Grunt who dropped the LIFT KEY.
2- Engineer Braxton. He warns you not to step on live wire.
1- No discussion. Youngster Ben. He likes shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

platinum was my first pokemon game... and my favorite i loved everything: the gyms, the bosses and Cynthia was JESUS HARDCORE

I always loved fighting Steven. I look at all the gyms, Elite Fours, and you don't see much steel types. He was in my opinion, the best choice for Ruby and Sapphire.

In my opinion the battle in Pokemon black/white was the best
It was the first Pokemon game I ever played and I was right to pick it
The music was amazing in battle and the dialogue was unbelievable for a ds game
I loved how you had a second battle straight after the battle against N and it was so intense and challenging that I spent over a week trying to beat it
The sad music after is amazing and then ( again ) the dialogue was fantastic
This boss battle ( and entire game ) will forever be one of the greatest of the entire Pokemon series
I also loved that they used teens, to appeal to the older audiences. Fucking loved that one.

Jack Weekly Gen 4 and Gen 2 were the best. Gen 5 was good. Gen 3 was cool too. Gen 6 was good but easy. Gen 1 was SOOOO EASY!

I remember my battle with cynthia and it was SO DAMN CLOSE. Came down to a 1v1 my abomasnow at red health vs her milotic. Decided my only chance was a sheer cold... then it actually hit, and I freaking died of amazingness.

Liked, subscribed, fucking everything. Platinum was my first ever Pokémon game, and I got so happy when he put Cyrus and Giratina in the list. As he was going through the honorable mentions, I had a moment of doubt thinking that Cynthia wasn't gonna be on the list, not even as an honorable mention... But then... This guy dropped a fucking bomb and made my day. Thank you, bro. Thank you.

I beat Cynthia with my togekiss that I evolved from togepi that I hatched from an egg that SHE GAVE ME. I used her first gift that she gave to me and used it to defeat her
OMG I was on the edge of my seat waiting for #1 and I just knew it was Cynthia. OMG I HATED THAT BATTLE SO MUCH! She put out that Garchomp and I was like "Fml...." Cynthia for the win all the way. Most difficult indeed.

First great list man. Looking back (and playing through every pokemon gen more then once since I was like 5). I am so happy I got to grow up with these games... Just so many epic moments and plot twist.. I will never forget once I got through blue version how my 7-year-old self couldn't get over that Blue had to be beat after beating lance. And since then grew up to many great moments like that :)
Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are the very best. There will never be as great pokemon as Platinum was. Sinnoh, I love you forever!

Even with those 2 at lv60+ she was quite a challenge. and those 2 Pokemon will always be one of my favorites. Vaporeon and Infernape
I wouldve got Jolteon since I like him more the Vaporeon but the nature it has was just not right for Jolteon (Quiet Nature)
Dragum Kirisute I beat her with my 1 Pokemon, level 100 garchomp I took time to train. Easy. And her team could have easily KO'd him. Easy.
Cynthia is the most patheticly easy champion ever I bet her with a lvl 55 infernape and a lvl 57 palkia alone

I was a bit cheap and used palkia for some tedious battles that weren't going anywhere
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Deoxys is no longer an event legendary and gains a whopping 50 levels and jumps to Level 80!

It's in the Delta Episode, and you will have a Level 70 Mega Rayquaza (Yes, you'll start the battle in your Mega Evolution) and Deoxys' Defenses suck so use Extreme Speed as your first move because any other move will kill it, so you don't need to be scared.

I've always loved the Cynthia battle. Every single battle with her is ridiculously close…. if you win, that is. And you're right, the music is amazing. I also think the Rayquaza battle from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald belongs at #10 instead of Regigigas, just because Regigigas is just a tank, and really isn't that powerful. Rayquaza is an amazing pokemon, and the feeling of catching it is just amazing as well.

Not gonna lie, as soon as I heard Azelf/Uxie/Mesprit's theme at the start of the video, you got my attention.
I absolutely love that theme. It makes fighting fairies seem like I'm fighting the final boss to Bayonetta or something like that.
As soon as that music for Synthia, nostalgia WAVED over me. Good choice for no.1.
Red and Cynthia are the best trainer boss battles out of the whole pokemon franchise in my opinion. The ultimate pokemon trainer and the champion of Sinnoh, will always have a special place in my heart, they are real challenges that the fifth and sixth generations lacked in their games.

I gotta agree with this guy, his number 1 took me about 1-2 hours because i was way under leveled and had to get the perfekt timing of moves and needed a few crits and some hits with attacks like thunder and blizzard. Thumbs up from me :)

I knew it will be Cynthia cuz it wasn't even in worthy mentions. my fav music is starting music in battle vs Lance, that's most dramatic it can be. And his squad with 3 Dragonites, Aerodactile, Charizard and Gyarados is magnificent and to me the most epic. I like how you have explined everything in so many details focused also on music. Simply. Pokemon are epic because it has amazing series and video games which are great even without watching episodes. Nobody has single negative comment about Pearl/Diamond/Platinum.Isn't weird why is in top 50 game ideas of all time

Milotic and Garchomp killed almost all of my pokes, until I made Gyarados relearn Ice Fang, and then the Garchomp was a cakewalk. Milotic tho, nightmare stuff
Defeated it with an egg in the party, but the battle was very fierce , I used quite a few potions and revives... Still a great battle :)

I am glad you remembered diamond and pearl. I only beat the champ after eleven tries ;p. I was using level 50s with a super unbalanced team because it was my first game but it was insane. I turned from liking her to despising her

I remember Cynthis, whenever i hear her music i get that nervous energy, I had a 1v1 between her Garchomp and my Empoleon the first time i was at 2 health and hit a spacial rend i was so excited!!
I was shocked that Alder's battle did not make this list. To me when you go back to the Unova League and fight Alder with a team that averages at level 75 that says a lot... plus his theme music is good along with the E4 of Black/White

My favourite generation is generation 5, Ghetsis' battle was so hardcore, the theme was awesome, the character was threatening and just a heartless bastard, and it was challenging!

Also, you need Regigias to get the other Golems, but you need them to get Regigias, so the whole circle is kinda pointless, since if you get one of them, you already have what they would reward you with.
And they say that they never distributed the Azure Flute because they thought it was too confusing ... I got the Azure Flute through the use of an Action Replay and it's not confusing at all, so that statement is complete BS

I`ve always loved battling Blue. The music is epic, especially in FR/LG. On top of that, he was a challenge. He had a Lv. 72 TYRANITAR in FR/LG. I was like: OMFG!
