!00% bang on with the reasoning 'why get a new router'.
My case: moved into a 55+ community and Spectrum 400MB internet comes std with the house (Spectrum model & router in the package). Same for everyone in the (large) community. So I wanted 1GB internet and with a Spectrum engineer here, after checking all connections, it turns out that on Wifi I only get around 500MB down, but on ethernet hard wired I easily get 850MB plus. While the Spectrum modem is rated to a Gig, their router just can't hack it.

That was a good discussion on the overall general effectiveness, and use ability of the router.
I just bought one of these; I upgraded from an old Linksys WRT 54GS unit.
What I am interested in, is how to set all the settings that are available on the router optimally for me.
Seems fairly easy to do, especially with the app. I just do not have the experience to know how to set everything up.
Could you point me in the direction of some resources to learn how to set everything up optimally?
We don’t have that many Wi-Fi devices. Really, just two iPhones, a desktop computer that I just bought (Mac mini, M2 Pro, that I just bought), a printer, a ring doorbell, a TV, and I think that is about it.

@@Blattie Thanks for your reply. Did you test it?
I took an 6e wifi router from MSI for PC VR wirelessly. I'm not that amazed with the result. I have a latency rate between 40 and 60. Sometimes it peeks over 60. It's not that great. A friend of mine got a different router and his latency almost never goes over 30, which is amazing.
By the way, I also bought a Bobo M3 adjustable strap. It's fukken amazing. Soooo much better than the trash strap that comes with it. I very strongly recommend it.
(Don't get the Mini version. Get the standard one. You can take it up like a night vision just like in Splinter Cell lol)
Same with a different facial interface that really blocks the light from outside. It's called AMVR Face Cover Pad. Great product!

This is a complete lie. Dude doesn't know anything. Both 6e and 6 are the same speed. 6e is 6ghz band, 6 is 5ghz band. Either capped at 2400 unless you usendual stream which almost no devices use. You will never be congested in a house, maybe if you live in an apartment with hundreds of people, and even then everyone upgrades to 6ghz over time and you have the same congestion. The only example for improvement that you gave was that your friend bought a different ISP with better speeds..... Which has nothing to do with the router....

Everyone will update eventually, and how often ordinary Joe upgrades ugh..., a router? SO yeah, eventually everyone will upgrade, that eventually may take more than 10 years though.

@@balkeep I'm still rocking the 54G with DD-WRT on it! LoL. Now that I have Fibre internet, I will upgrade since I know the router is the bottleneck.
