  • TP-Link Archer AX73, AX5400 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router - amzn.to/3e3aNW3
    TP-Link sent over their brand new Archer AX73 for me to use for a couple weeks and review. This Wi-Fi 6 route packs a lot of features for a reasonable price.
    The TP-Link AX5400 is not only a reasonably priced Wi-Fi 6 router, but it also has a lot of other features including security features, parental controls, device priority, and more.
    After a couple weeks of usage, it is easy to recommend the TP-Link AX5400 (Archer AX73) to anyone who wants to get started in the Wi-Fi 6 world and to future proof their new products.
    Thanks for checking it out and don't forget to subscribe!

    ASUS XT8 has been a godsend! I have fiber 1gb speeds and meshing 2 in a 4000sq foot ranch style home with 15 connected devices gives me 500mb/s speeds in furthest rooms.. I have Wi-Fi outside.. it’s triband with no speed buffering.. you can game, stream.. whatever without lag. I had 5 google Wi-Fi pods spreading crap signal around the house before. Without having 5 pods I couldn’t get signal downstairs.. the furthest room had signals of 13-18mb/s. I’m knocked backwards by this router. Took 2 seconds to install. So simple and so fast I can take my Ethernet switches and chuck them!

    Thank you for a very professional review. In fact, Dad.0, you are one of the most exceptional presenters on CZcams. *** I have used TP-Link equipment since 2015. I found TP-Link to be a better value than NetGear or other major brands. So, I am looking to TP-Link for a new wireless router. But I was torn between various TP-Link models. I was leaning toward the TP-LINK AX 1800 (AX21) for $90 (any opinion on the AX21?) ... but the AX73 sounds awesome (even if $200). Again thanks for a great review! HOWEVER I WISH you would have provided some info about the USB 3 port. I'd love to see what the USB 3 is used for.

  • @thegrandmaslayr
    @thegrandmaslayr Před 2 lety

    Great review! I do have a quick question about the router's settings customization. Do you happen to know if you're able to disable either of the wireless radios in the app settings? I'm currently using a Netgear router, and the Netgear router login app/website provides the option to disable the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios completely. I turn off my router's 2.4Ghz band because it interferes with the connection to my wireless Xbox headset's 2.4Ghz USB transmitter. If I don't disable my router's 2.4Ghz band, I experience severe disconnections when using my headset. Fortunately, every device in my house that's not wired directly to the router operates on the 5Ghz band, so disabling the 2.4Ghz band isn't a big deal.

    It's time to look for a good 802.11ax adapter including BT. From some reviews "Asus PCE-AX58BT" ~70$ and "TP-Link Archer TX3000E" ~50$ (or TX50E without wired antenna) looks OK. TP-Link is 20$ cheaper. More importantly, both WLAN and BT should be stable. I've read some "constant disconnect problems" from WLAN and BT (espacially BT). Because of that some people sticks to Wi-Fi 5 again. Overall reviews are good. Do you have any words about adapters?

    I bought this and the range was shocking. Couldn't get past the first door. It sat behind the TV, so I wonder if the TV was interfering with its signal. In any case, its clear from your review that there must have been something stopping that signal from going around a corner (L shaped lounge), through the door and into a bedroom in the house. If you have any tips on what else might have been impeding its performance it would be appreciated

    Hi! Thanks for the informative video. I have just purchased this router and have a question. I have a 200 mbps up/down plan and I am getting the speed until I am not too far from the router. But if I am 2 rooms away, my download is still strong at full 200mbps but upload reduces by about 30-50%. Can you please confirm if it's the same for you? I ha e checked on 3 different wifi 6 enabled devices. Thanks!

      @@dad.0 so first impressions are mixed. Setup was like a breeze (I used the Tether app, the barcode didn't work, had to setup manually).
      The first quirk was, that out of the box you cannot configure 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies separately, you have to disable Smart Connect first. Without this there is only 1 mixed frequency visible which may or may not be compatible with older devices (like my smart AC). Also, my son uses a somewhat older Samsung Galaxy Tab A which dropped in performance, I cannot seem to get the full network speed out of it (max 300Mbits should be available, but it caps at 72 Mbits). My Phone reaches 400-450 Mbits, my laptop (with an Intel AX200 module) goes up to 920Mbits.
      Will dig deeper.

    I bought this recently. My internet plan is 600mb and I'm getting only around 30mbps on wi-fi 2.4ghz and under 300mbps on wi-fi 5ghz with this router (in the same room). The modem provided from the ISP also has wifi and I can get over 640mbps when connected to it. I tried setting the modem as bridge and using ppoes access from the router, I tried setting the router and an AP. I tried turning qops off.
    I can't figure out what's wrong, why my ax73 wi-fi is so slow. It works normally wired.
    I'm starting to suspect faulty antenna or something.
