Most of your ride issue is coming from those leaf springs, you got a lot of leafs under there more than factory
And terrible shape
Yeah I was gonna comment this, mine has like 5 leafs this is waaaaay too many
New springs is the easiest way but to really get the best, its good to upgrade to 6.0 power stroke coils.
@@ak14619 also probably want to cut off the turn stops or you gain nothing in turning radius which is the bigger benefit to the coil design. i mean my front end rides great with leafs but it turns like a bus.
Was thinking the same. Poor man’s leveling job maybe? I put X code OEM springs on mine to level it off.
That leaf pack you got in the front is serious I can only imagine how rough that thing ride
Replace the leaf springs too, it will make a huge difference.
the rust jacking in between the leafs on your front leaf springs is pretty insane. you should put new leaf springs on your to do list for the front at least. It wont be long before one of the cracks, turns sideways and cuts your tires. ..
Also that is FAR from a stock pack and if he wants a better ride should get a more appropriate pack.

Thank you for showing the struggle. Most mechanics feel ashamed with the problems they encounter so they leave that out of the video. As a mechanic myself, those are the moments that make me feel the most mechanically inclined.
Those springs need to go ASAP. Especially the front ones. Just get some OEM replacements all the way around and will make a big difference. Probably needs a Blue Top steering box and all new tie-rods to get the steering back on point. If it needs ball joints do those too.
A lift is cheaper. And better.

Everyones talking about replacing the leafs, theoretically you could do the 05-07 coil conversion if you really care
It’s probably a good thing that the shock mount broke. It could’ve broke when you’re driving the future which would be way more headache.
Your truck riding harsh is mostly bc if the leaf springs, they seem to be really flat instead of arched lien they should be, also possibly replacing those with a smaller leaf pack and adding a block underneath to have a 6” lift line you currently have will improve your ride a lot, they do sell 6” lifted leaf springs, I had the same truck and I loved the way it ride with the 6” leaf springs
Looks like you got a lot of undercarriage work and restoration to do. Those leafs are in bad shape both with surface rust and the fact they are no longer conformed to the proper geometry. The entirety of the front end steering linkage likely also needs replacement with either new OEM parts, or, since its on a lift and everything, beefed up aftermarket components, as you WILL end up getting death wobble with how much wear and tear there is up there. In regards to the leaf springs, you actually have two options, you can either get new ones, OR you can find a coil sprong conversion kit that will GREATLY improve the ride, i also know there are axle swaps out there so that you can throw the wheel spacers out entirely and be done with the possible dangers they impose.
You should invest in a air hammer brother. It will be your go to tool for those stuck stubborn bolts.
Really nice looking OEM plus build man. Get that frame cleaned up and that bedside. You’ll have yourself a real beauty!

I've had 5 superdutys this era I used for plowing and pulling besting the crap out of them all diesels .....with that being said I've never seen front leafs that messed up bro! Replace them asap or that front axle is coming out of that rig!!!

I have the same spacer and wheel setup except I ordered the pointed lug nuts and it looks sick
leaving another comment about the rust in your leaf springs... take them apart break it off with a needle scaler and re assemble.
i have the bilstein 4600 series on my 04 5.4 f350 and i absolutely love them!!!
Those front leafs are so worn out
Glad I sold my 7.3l with 250k miles on it for 12 grand while I could while prices were high. So many parts were worn out it woulda cost me probably like 12 grand in parts and labor to get it up to snuff. I did that poor young kid dirty. Sometimes I feel bad about it. Good video though!

4 link with air and it will ride without your fillings shaking out. Leaf springs are for buggys from the 1800s. 4 link for both ends.

Nice truck but why is there so many leaf springs in the front, makes no sense because the front doesn’t need payload capacity and ruins the ride. Also you should probably never grind the studs for your wheels
Not only are those leafs rust jacked to heck. They’re also flat. Totally pounded out lol should have a slight curve upwards…like a “U”
Nice Production and Mods!!! I will be in the process (when I get home form a work project) to start working on my 2005 F350 Power Stroke (got stolen less than 24 hours after buying it!) but its fixable and I will make it better than ever! loving the direction of your build, new sub here!

It honestly looks like a stock right height. My truck was the same height and it was a factory ride height, only difference I see is you got more leafs springs in the front and yours is smaller then mine was😂
Dude graet job but like some other people said rplease eplace the leaf spring ASAP like NOW you did all that and still driven a death trap the only time i seen worst springs then that is on a saltwater trailer .... witch anyone who lives in south florida and owns a bout will kmow what im saying ... one good pot hall and they may snap like a tooth pick
Those front leaf springs are SCARY rusty and look like they came off a dump truck. No wonder it rides harsh.
Get rid of some of those leafs not all but some and put some helper bags under it and the ride will blow your mind.

I would’ve definitely put a coat of POR-15 on everything in the wheel well while you had stuff off but hey clean truck all in all.
Also that is a crazy amount of leafs on that front end

DUDE!! get rid of that front leaf spring set up, you can buy a coil spring axel off of 05 and later super duty’s and swap them pretty easy, if you don’t do that please get new leaf springs in the front those things aren’t far from breaking in half

350, 7.3, 4x4, 2 tone, marker lights... I prefer the Obs 7.3s but no doubt a nice truck. Such a shame we live in the NE. I was planning on my 2017 duramax to be my last new truck ever but I think Pa winter has different plans..

Please get some oil on that frame :) That poor bedside. I have an 03 that did the same thing. My 14 6.7 diesel almost did the same thing, but I love that truck, so I put new bedsides on it.

It's called heavy duty. The 350's came with heavy duty and some came with the ambulance package. That is more heavy duty

Your leaf springs are scary looking get some 6" lift springs will ride waaaay better definitely think it was a plow truck that has way more spring leafs then mine factory

I agree those front leaf's look bad and probably need replaced. They are defiantly going to ride like a hay wagon. If you are looking into options, NEVER use lift blocks on the front end. The lateral force at play is not the same as the rear. There is a reason no company offers "front lift blocks". I am also surprised that no one has mentioned the stacked lift blocks in the back. That's also generally a no go. The blocks with the ears on the inside are Ford factory. Looks like one of the owners just added another 3 inch block. Normally you don't want to do that. Especially with a truck that sees a trailer. Again, imagine lateral load. The 2 blocks have the most leverage between them, instead of the axle to leaf. I'm honestly kind of surprised they weren't at least welded together lol. Nice build though.
In my humble opinion if you are gonna upgrade a vehicle you don't go cheap with it you go for what works not for what is expendable
