Are you guys Lebanese?
@@tigerdude2727they’re australian 😭😭
Code Geass pls, you'll love it I promise
Please when you want to talk about something pause the episode because you can easily miss major plot points by accidentally talking over them
Legend has it that Monk Gyatzo airbended all of the air out of that place. No air no fire. That’s why there were no scorch or burn marks. He was a legend
“theyre hittin us w the chakachaka”

she is golden lmao
10:58 I love the first time everyone realizes that Iroh is the MAN.
I feel like you guys missed the reveal that Prince Zuko has been banished from the Fire Nation, since you didn't react to the statement or comment on it afterwards. It's a very important piece to the character.
They talk over a bit too much of what's going on, not paying that much attention to the part after what you mentioned, where Iroh said something like "do you remember what happen the last time you dueled a master?" with Zuko replying "I will never forget". And how the scene panned to foreshadow how Zuko might've gotten the scar.
They'll pick up on it later tho
Don't worry, they will either realize it later or the Patreon backers already let them know
@@cowzilla8 Yeah - a little too much flapping their gums, not enough watching and listening 😂
Ah well, they get the gist.
@@junglekxngtalksanime That's very true. These are also edited in ways that can be jarring to the end viewer. Just because we can't see them watching a scene, doesn't mean they didn't.
Hearing them talk over pivotal dialogue can be annoying but at least they're talking out of enthusiasm and interest for the plot.
I've seen some reactors pause the show before going into discussions, so as to avoid talking over things, but I get why not everyone does that.
15:39 - mate, Commander Zhao said to Zuko in this episode "Your own father doesn't even want you" and calls him a banished prince.
Reading between the lines, his relationship with his dad isn't great 😅😅😅
They weren't reading the lines at the time, let alone between them
💯
Well said 😂
Just a little reminder. Be careful the conversations in this show because there is almost no unnecessary elements in it. Every character will have their time to glow and you will see the change in them. I know this looks like a kids show but mind that there is more to it.
💯🔥
Please we need to episodes a day the waiting is too long 😭😭
The show is too long for one episode
Nah, once every month is good
@@NK-dt1kpSpoiling us 😂
Fr they also can upload 2 episode at once
Two bro two. It's the easiest one, we all know it's a number 😅
zukos voice actor, dante basco, just naturally sounds like that! even though hes middle aged now, he still sounds like a soft spoken teenager
”Momo is a product of, like, love…so Momo‘s parents made Momo…“ LMAO
poetic
10:57 "Iroh is the Man" yes sir!!
Aang coming to terms with his loss and saying 'I AM the LAST airbender' out loud.. and then telling Appa & Momo they're 'all that's left of this place'--
that ALWAYS makes me wanna cry for Aang.. esp. with how hard that must be for him not to fall apart, yet still sounding so optimistic.. *sigh* I caaan't 😟 it's just so sad.
(...such an underrated moment in probably the most underrated ep in the whole series 💖 def one of my favorites! ^_^)
Remember, the Avatar is a cycle of reincarnation. The previous Avatar would have to have died 12 years before the Fire Nation attacked for Aang to be born as the next Avatar.
They need to watch that intro more 😁
"Well Carlie we gotta watch the rest of the show, I mean there's no point trying to work the whole thing out right now" Ange is finally learning lol
“One animal is dying” lmaooo omg😂😅
Watching too many anime where the beloved characters are dying since AoT days. 😂
😭😂😂😂😂
The music during Aang's avatar state with Katara. Amazing scene.
i loove zukos voice - the voice actor dante basco doesn‘t adjust his voice, it‘s just that soft 😂
His voice is so recognizable that when I saw him in But I’m a Cheerleader I gasped out loud. Hearing the voice of Zuko say “I’m a homosexual” definitely made me feel something lol 😅
And after so many years he still sound the same
@@caycecarson He's the only one who's coming back for the Avatar movie next year
That's rough, buddy...
@@LuisSierra42 Which is a real shame. Only he’s allowed because he’s “ethnically appropriate”, but he wants everyone to return. Misguided changes.
You KNOW shit is going down when you are hearing the "chackachachachackacha"
This series is legit one of the GOATs
12:39 - 💯.
It's a kid-friendly show on Nickelodeon.
But this episode essentially depicted the aftermath of a genocide 😢.
Kid show or not, these themes hit hard.
Agni Kai soundtrack is 🔥🔥
isn’t it?? i listen to it on it’s own sometimes lol

Honor
Sexism
Family Trauma
Personal Trauma
(Lots of Trauma)
And more!
This is why we never refer to ATLA as a "kid's show". Yes, it was made for younger audiences, but all ages can enjoy it! I'm SO STOKED to see y'all go through this incredible journey!
If you haven’t caught on they mix animals together! Like the penguin you saw were otter penguins.
You're asking amazing questions!!!!!!
10:49 I love this part because it’s the first time you’re thinking Iroh might not just be a lazy old uncle
I'm late, just realized you guys were watching this. ATLA is the greatest animated show of all time and arguably the greatest show period. I grew up on it, and then continued to love/ rewatch it every couple of years. I get something new out of it every single time.
What I wouldn't give to experience it for the first time again.
Looking forward to your continued reactions.
You really have to pay attention to every single dialogue because almost everything comes back again in some form
Wow, it's so cool to see two people who are truly watching this show blind. That's hard to come by, and it's going to be such a special experience for you guys. I know Carlie has some bits of knowledge, but they're so minor they basically don't count lol. Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun watching you guys and hearing your thoughts and opinions experiencing this all with a blank slate. Can't wait to continue!
Don’t feel bad. We all had hope during this episode that the airbenders got away somehow, even despite the show’s title (at least I did as a kid) 😂 Aang’s hope in this episode was written to be contagious, I think.
It's like people don't believe the title of the show
@@morganepg it was more like, as a preteen, I’d never seen a cartoon address genocide before on a network with children as the target audience. So that kind of threw me off 😅
@@battythings crazy right. I saw this show before I actually ever learned what genocide was....but yea my joy is THE LAST air bender 😞😞😞 can't wait for more reactions!!!!
Iroh is in my top 3 for this show, goated for sure
11:17 LOL
I love how you named the lemur gojo now I'm gonna be thinking about flying lemur gojo satoru for a very long time ❤
This is the first time that that the show makes you root for Zuko
It gives me so much joy to watch you react to this
Your musings at the end are so fun! Keep asking those questions!!
One little non-spoilery tidbit about Gyatso, if I recall, is that he didn't burn to death fighting those fire benders. He airbended all the air out of that room so the fire couldn't ignite, killing everyone there (including himself) in the process. He sacrificed his life to make sure they went down with him.
What you guys may forget is the series was marketed as a kids show and being western there is a lot of things that would be considered controversial in this age for example the implication of death with the skeletons
💯Mike and Bryan had to do a lot of compromising and wheeling-and-dealing to maintain the integrity of their vision for the show's themes while also keeping Nickelodian exec support.
Overall, they did a good job balancing those priorities.
It is certain you guys gonna get millon views. OMG you guys da best of them amongst other reacttooorrss!!!
You guys do the best reaction and theories here😁
I love watching this!!!
catching up as i type!!
theres a theory about gyatzos death, all the firebenders there werent even close to touch him and his bones were untoched too, so the most likely explanation is that he took the air form the room, killing instantly (its not for suffocation, but as theres a lot of difference between the pressure of their lungs and the pressure of the room, their lungs simply implode in less than a sec) all the persons, including himself
you guys are my favorite reactors for anime please keep it up and god bless ❤
11:17 i almost chocked with water🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Iroh is the real GOAT of this show
Have y'all watched the movie hook? That's where i first saw the va for zuko. He plays rufio. The webcomic homestuck had that character in there as a gag and another character was named rufioh. Dante basco heard about it and started reading it because of that.
It's a popular and accepted theory (likely intended by the writers) that Gyatso killed every firebender in that room by bending the air out of that room, suffocating them all and himself. He broke a taboo of the Air Nomads as his life ended, likely as penance.
Airbenders were OP as hell, but they were pacifists.
Love you guys so much
yep, in theory, if Aang never has a child with airbending, the airbenders could die out entirely leaving no airbender in the cycle to reincarnate into. It already presents a problem for the /next/ Avatar who needs an airbending teacher. But these problem won't be explored in this particular show.
11:17 a wild Gon appears 😂
Are all Gon 😂
Thanks for all the Momo love!🙃
"Iroh is the man".
YUP! Ange figured that out quick
In Nepal, there’s a food called Momo that’s a steamed buffalo bun. Which is kinda cute given his relationship with Appa who is a bison. Appa translates to “stone” as well, btw
15:34 there was an allusion to that this episode already.
17:28 Momo isnt a 100 years old, firenation main goal was massacaring every airbender, they didnt necceseraly attacked the lemurs.
Wait now that I think about it, why is momo the only one we see? You think they flew away or something? 😅
@@mahadaalvi I forget what ep that is
15:34: Yep - they talked over it and missed the reference 🙄. Ah well, by my calculations, they'll understand soon.
17:28: 💯 As it was the Air Nomad Genocide, not the Lemur Genocide, it makes sense that a few lemurs escaped/survived and continued to breed over the years.
Yes, lemurs and sky bisons survived. Firebenders murdered the airbenders. I don't think that they hesitated to murder some of the animals who tried guarding the airbenders though.
@@kairostimeYT where the hell are they then? 😭
There is a lot of hidden lore in the conversations, specially whenever something relates to Fire Nation, they have some of the best characters. Some things we learned in this chapter are that Zuko is a banished prince (why and how?), Agni Kai is a duel between firebenders, and Zuko got his scar the last time he challenged a firebender (what was the context of that duel, and who was the firebender that defeated Zuko?), and why is Iroh with Zuko? (you can tell from the way Iroh stopped Zhao like he was nothing, that Iroh is probably one of the most powerful firebenders, also, since Iroh is Zuko's uncle, it means he is the brother of the Firelord, the leader of the entire Fire Nation). Another thing, is that most characters in-world have a prejudice against the Fire Nation people, like if they were all bad guys (racial hate against their invaders is a very logical thing to happen), while Aang has no such prejudices and views every person individually, since there was no war when he lived, so he has no conception of "firebenders or fire nation citizens being bad people".
11:17 - 0% ready for the lil Gon lmfao. How dare you, in this touching scene, make me laugh like that >_
So happy you guys get to watch this for the first time I’m jealous. Honestly this is up there with HxH for me. Hope you guys love it! It’s one of the few shows (from then at least) that you really do see the characters grow up over the course of the series
"one animal is dying"
STOP ! who hurt you my guy ? :( lol
Great reaction!
Ah yes you know the genocide episode of the “kids” show.
There's a reason The Normies coined the meme "This is NOT a kids' show." when they reacted to ATLA. Three episodes in and we've already been dealing with war, invasion, kidnapping, death of a loved one, corpses, genocide...The personal issues get very adult, and the show gets darker and more serious as it goes.
Zuko is voiced by Dante Basco, who played Rufio in the movie "Hook" and voiced Jake in "American Dragon Jake Long.". That is his natural, unfiltered voice.
"Momo" means "peach" in Japanese, and a peach is what he took from Sokka when Aang named him.
The Avatar is not chosen; the Avatar is revealed to each nation by various methods.
The writers were VERY good at dropping lore and world-building in exquisite doses. You questions will be answered. Be patient, and enjoy the show! 😋
Momo isn't the last Lemur Bender.... He is an earth bender (It's canon)
look up admiral zhao's voice actor, you'll be surprised!
He's Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter??
@@junglekxngtalksanime bingo!
This is like Mobs psychic powers like unconscious uncontrollable the difference is Aang needs to learn his powers but Mob has a part of himself that he needs to control.
Aang is an airbender master. When airbender mastered the element they get the arrow tattos. Aang was the youngest airbender master ever.
Zuko do be having the balding bending
at least he recovered later on 😭
Momo the last lemur bender 😂😂😂
"Why does the avatar exist?" - asking the deepest of the deep questions. 🤔
This is my favourite episode in book 1
It's a great one for sure
Yeah, def.
Top 3 for Book 1.
Maybe Top 10 for the show.
I'm here for all of Carlie's Puns!!! 😭
bending powers are inherited through generations, so if Aang theoretically were to have offspring, there would be a chance they or their children could be airbenders.
also, the Avatar isn't chosen. it's a random reincarnation within whatever nation is next in the cycle. whether or not having no benders of an element would break the cycle, we don't know. bending powers are more spiritual than biological, so it could be that some non-benders' child gets born with bending powers randomly, with the cosmos trying to balance things out again or something. that's just my theory.
With that dress, Carlie is showing off her muscles, lol.
Great reaction!❤❤❤
If you guys want to start a new anime sooner or later I suggest you should watch bungo stray dogs. Ya'll will enjoy it! It is a hidden gem! I don't get why it doesn't get much recognition....
Anyway love you❤
I would definitely recommend switching the reanimated version! It looks better imo ☺️
Aw man i missed bozo the clown, destroyer of vibes
12:25 LMAOOOOOO
Finally i can comment it....
Monk GYATTso
I Hope Legend of Korra is on your list after this Show, Avatar World is amazing!
Curious, where do you guys watch the series from? The quality is crisp!
Are you guys gonna watch kaiju no. 8 ? It's 1st episode was amazing
Please do 2 episodes, i really love your reactions, and please add Undead Unluck to your list lol
I always had this theory that Momo is the reincarnation of Monk Gyatso, a random Lemur just happening to lead Aang to Gyatso's skeleton, doesn't seem like a coincidence
11:16 LMAOO
11:16 lol
You gotta do 2 episode per uploads, seriously
You two are super cute. I’m in for this ride with you guys!

11:18 Gon. Did I win something?
Momo means peaches in Japanese.
You haven’t reacted to Zuko’s father or Katara’s mother comments. Kinda feels like you haven’t noticed…
I usually enjoy Carlie and Ange's reactions but this was just 😬😬😬
Most of the reaction was just them talking. They even spoke over important dialogue 🙈
1:10 is quite meme-able. respectfully 😏

U have cut too much important scenes in this reaction video i know because of copy right issue but many scenes u have added in this reaction video could be cut and many other important scenes like why zuko is chasing avatar and about his banishment and aang telling katara roku name etc could be added instead 😢😢😢
Yeah... that's vital content.
I'm given to understand reactors require editors to be familiar enough with the content they're editing so they know what to cut/keep.
In light of that, this editing was a bit suspect.
That said, these two do a lot of talking over critical dialogue, so maybe the editor didn't have much to work with.
I believe you don't inherit bending, at least not airbending. Airbenders are born in any place of the world (makes sense cause it's like an element of freedom, air knows no borders) and then they're supposed to be taken to the air temple to learn airbending skills and become a master, that's why you wouldn't really see nonbenders in airtemples, whereas in other nations you do see nonbenders. Air temples, maybe not always, were like academies for airbending. My point is, in those hundred years there were probably born several airbenders, it's just a thing of balance, but it was not safe for them to be one, so they didn't even try to airbend, not even a little bit. Also there was nobody to teach them anything anyways. That's what I think at least.
Please look fireforc 💥🔥😊
