As a young man with my first shot gun I once shot a 6 to 8 inch small pine tree at 3 to 5 yards with a 20 gauge shotgun loaded with #3 buckshot it cleaned hole out of two thirds of the tree and it fell over!

    I wish ammo manufactures would make 100% brass hull 00 Buck ammo a regular item in their lineup. I don't use shotguns for home defense since I've had the end of plastic shotshell hulls deform when loaded for more than a few months. People will say to shoot what's in the gun and replace it with new ammo, but right now ammo is still scarce or expensive, not all of us live somewhere you can shoot shotguns on a regular basis and some people just want to keep one gun loaded for defense and use a similar one for the range.

    Remington 11-87 semi Auto, 12-gauge 3in. you never have to clean it aside from the barrel and got pine needles in the action from years ago and it eject the cheapest crappiest shells or the most expensive up to 3 in, with the smoothbore dear barrel with iron sights you can put a slug into a 2 inch bullseye at a hundred yards free-standing no problem over and over again until your shoulder can't take it no more. The thing is a beast it's never rejected any ammunition no matter how cheap and how little powder they all ejected every time on time and the thing was never cleaned except for the barrel. When I did finally clean the action and the back where the slider goes it was just full of dirt soil pine needles, and I remembered that it would had been several years since I haven't been anywhere near the Pines on a on a rabbit hunts but that was a long time ago oh, so that's all I know how old. Debris was, the one I got is a left-hander but I had imagined the right-hander is just the exact same stuff it's just the other way around. There is no shotgun like it, that Benelli or whatever you got to use expensive loads or loads with lots of powder or they're just not going to eject all the time. Got a 16 in single break action from Brazil 410 sort of like Mad Max smaller version LOL scattergun indeed, the number six is 7-Elevens they just go all over the place on the high side but if you compensate for it not bad for gross rabbits 40 yards. But I love my Remington 11-87 all day long. I love that Mossberg pistol grip pump here using there, I would like that as a side arm LOL

    Benelli is a premium Shotgun manufacturer - interesting, that H&K used to import them to the US - according to my knowledge, they no longer handle that for Benelli. It was and is a Benelli - H&K inc. was only importer!

    I’m sure you’ve seen it as much as myself at matches, people using pump shotguns short stroking and having malfunctions. I feel semi autos are more reliable for this reason. It takes the human factor out.

    • @tacoscheap
      @tacoscheap Před 3 lety +2

      The trade off is malfunctions from non-user sources. Training (hopefully) offsets some of the human factor. Buying the best home defense rounds and testing them in your specific configuration (hopefully) offsets non-human error. In both cases keeping the weapon in great repair and practicing so you hit what you are targeting is essential.

      If you're ever in the situation where you can't see the laser for,how about you use the old school method of putting the built-in sight on target & take it out?
