  • EICMA 2023: Ultra Violette F77 & F99 4K
    This is my video from the Ultra Violette stand at the EICMA 2023 show in Milan, Italy in November 2023. I wasn't familiar with the brand, but several viewers said I should go and check them out, and here they are. The first three bikes (the one without the bodywork, the amazing red one and the tourer are all the F77 platform. The race bike at the end is the F99.
    Let me know what you think.
    Thanks for watching!

    Ultraviolette is a two wheeler ev maker based out of Bangalore India and are making electric superbikes of the future and have just started launching bikes last year in India and will be soon launching bikes in Europe from next year onwards

      Yup, that's what I found out. Though they are probably making bikes of the present. Bikes of the future are a lot harder unless you're Dr. Who. Or work in marketing 😉

      @@PeakMotorcyclesI own an f77 and is my daily machine. On a mix use in Indian traffic I get a total range of 220 kms. It's a fantastic machine. Smoooooth in its Glide ( eco mode) Very competitive in its combat mode ( mix or economy and performance mode ) and very BONKERS in its Ballistic mode (performance mode)
      Also wanted to thank you for showing us around EICMA ❤

    I’ve been waiting for them to hit Europe ever since they showed the first prototypes some years ago. I absolutely love it. If the price is right and the build quality in order it’ll be hard to resist.

      Are you sure that is true?
      The Zero SR ZF14. 4 + Power Tank has a range of 223 miles, which is just under 360km, and I think that was available before the Ultra Violette. Not that the UV specs aren't good, I just think it's best to avoid misinformation.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  Před 8 měsíci

      My experience of electric motorcycles so far is that the ranges are subject to change. It might say 200km of range, but then you get a 20% climb for a mile, and do an enthusiastic overtake on the way up, and suddenly range is down to 150km. Is Ultra Violette better at this? (I'm not doubting it, just curious what, if any, different tech they have that gives them the edge.)

  • @jedw9983
    @jedw9983 Před 8 měsíci +7

    Never heard of them. That range of 300 km could be a game changer...so far, most bikes seem to be 100km or less, which is impossible when you live in a very rural environment and ride in the Portuguese mountains.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  Před 8 měsíci +4

      Based out of India, and yes, it's sort of the middle ground between the £15-20k+ Zeros and Livewires but speed, range and power above the more budget Surron and similar bikes. It'll be interesting to see the UK pricing. I'd be tempted by the red one!

    • @ShirazHansen
      @ShirazHansen Před 8 měsíci

      Ha! Yeah, that would be tricky to do.
      But i meant how parts of the faring move in and out based on how the wind's hitting the bike, sort of like how active rear spoilers on some sports cars do, to direct the air and provide better stability. They were showing it off in a few other videos i found on their social media, but i'm not sure how long they did so there.@@PeakMotorcycles

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  Před 7 měsíci

      @@Hsp44 Wait... that was one of the smartass replies?... it's spreading! Joking aside, I think the F99 will do 165mph, so certainly plenty fast enough to take advantage of active aero on a track, when the extra downforce can improve braking and cornering grip when needed, and then reduce drag for the straights. Not sure how much difference small wings actually make on a motorcycle for drag reduction, where I'd think they would be too small to have much of an impact vs the body of the rider. On an F1 car,, which is essentially all wing, it's a differentiator, here, I'm not so sure. If it makes it into a road bike, I think it's a bit of a gimmick. Below 60mph, for the size of wing, I doubt it would make a noticable difference. Above that, assuming it's legal to use it, not sure how many people would use a road derived F99 on the limit where every 1/1000th of a second matters. Maybe that's why I struggle to get excited about it...

      India is a very inward looking market with very different expectations than the rest of the world. Do you think the Royal Enfield Machismo 500 or the Hero Hunk 160R would fare well outside India? 😂 I did go to the launch, but after 5 minutes of hype (and it was very busy) I wandered off to do some more filming. I went back later when it was quieter to get the video of the bike. It does look great, but I was hoping for something more road ready as a step up from the F77 rather than a bike, which I'm sure is brilliant, but few will get to ride.
