While Simone is the queen of tumbling, Morgan is the queen of performance. I highly admire a gymnast that dedicates time to their choreography and expression especially since they are often not rewarded enough for it. You can tell that she actually hears the music and feels a connection to the piece. Gorgeous routine!
I absolutely agree. Even though Simone is amazing, I would rather sit and watch Morgan perform her floor a thousand times over.
Well said. Morgan is really a performer .
MissMuppetLover
I totally agree with that 💞
YES!!! She's even giving us FACE the whole time, I stan so hard
MissMuppetLover I stated the same on Someone's Twitter feed and got a bunch of hate messages! Simone needs to up her game because everyone else in the world is paying attention to the artistic side of the equation. I love Simone and respect her ability, but her gymnastics is missing elegance and dance interpretation. Simone can no longer show up to the competition, do a routine with huge difficulty and walk away with a win. She has to show growth through expression! Many of her fans think she is perfect and she is not especially in the artistic level. She is missing that. If she improved her dance, she'd be a triple threat: execution, difficulty and artistic performance!
Out of everyone on the floor, she had the best choreography. There was a lot of dramatic music tonight, but she was the only one who could pull it off.
She makes me cringe , she's trying so hard to come across as elegant and it looks forced . Maybe I've been watching Gymnastics too long , but before you fire back at me look up Floor routines by Tatiana Groshkova , Natalia ilienko , Elena Davidova (1980) Natalia Shaposhnikova Yulia Kut or even Vanessa Atler to see what i'm talking about gymnastics has gotten dumbed down so much that people are quite frankly wowed by garbage
you are such a hater move on lmaooo
@@lenr112 This isn't garbage.
@@lenr112 It might be not elegant for your taste but she definitely has so much sense of the music and has so much passion that I’ve never really seen from the American gymnasts (with the exception of Phoebe Mills, Shannon Miller, and Morgan).
@@lenr112 go compare jade careys floor dance routines to this. morgan comes off so much more pretty with her dancing skill than jade(no offense to her i love her) but morgan goes out of her way to make her floor routines so much more entertaining
If she doesn't make the team for 2020 I flip the table. 😤
Well this didn't age well
Ummmmm. Did you flip the table yet?
She didn’t :(
She had a rough go in 2019 and aimed for 2020. She was definitely hurt by the delay in the Olympics.
This routine is so beautiful and difficult. If she cleans it up she could definitely challenge Jade for that second spot in a floor final. USA is scary good. Here we have THREE GYMNASTS THAT START THEIR ROUTINES WITH AN I ELEMENT! Morgan, Jade, and Simone. USA will be unstoppable once again.
D Leo Simone jade and Morgan
This is the first year that I've been excited for in a long time. The last worlds where I was truly excited was 2010 with Mustafina.
Victor Beauregarde
Yes it will be lol😂
Too bad, you can only have two entries per country
This is the only choreography that actually matches the music. Beautiful dance!!
Riley does a nice job dance-wise, too
Jay Petrova Her music is horrible, though
@@sallydaniel1023 the best dancer is jade carey for sure ahahahaha 😂😂
Amazing tumbling though
YES MORGI!! Her performance is top notch. She's a beautiful dancer.
100% one of my favorite gymnasts 😭😍 such a talented amazing gymnast the way she smiles after landing those passes ahhh and not
To mention her detailed leaps ah love it
It looks like she’s having fun out there, really performing! Which I don’t really see too much these days at the senior elite level, she was a joy to watch. Go Morgan! ☺️
Did I just see a moors and a double layout!?!?
Brian Patterson yes
BEAUTIFUL LINES!!!!!!
Morgan is gutsy and totally unafraid to try the big skills! I love her!
To my eyes her performances are the most beautiful of any USA gymnast today! She's got precision, quickness, power and grace. I will always root for her.
Difficult leaps, great tumbling passes, beautiful choreography. Morgan married all those together very well. No justification whatsoever when deluded fans say "No artistry because of the difficulty side ".
A valiant try on the Moors! But I honestly think she should just leave it tucked; unlike Simone’s (and Jade’s, to a lesser degree), she probably incurs more deductions doing it than her Silivas, although I have to give her kudos on that great landing. The floor judges are being pretty strict today, this should have been over 14 for sure.
Kojo Baidoo She said herself that she is not at her peak right now and that is okay. She just wants to try new skills and have experience doing them. She is a gymnast who really knows how to pace herself so I’m sure she’ll master it! If not she can always take it out.
She did it way more laid out in podium training and in training videos she's posted from her gym so hopefully she can do it better at nationals!
She should do both the Moors and the Tucked Double Double, and ditch the DLO and Double Pike.
Wow massive improvement! Future silver Olympic medalist.
Wow I love the artistry the music was so ethereal. She's wonderful.
she truly is magical to watch!!!
Loved it!! her expressions are great. Go Morgan!!
My goodness. I just saw one hell of a routine. Go Morgan!!! Keep it going!!!!!!!!
I grew a fan of her. She is the whole package: powerful, flexible, artistic and elegant. She is becoming consistent as well. She wont reach simone but she can defo win silver and be an asset for the team.
Powerful! I really like her attention to detail in choreography. It means a lot for us who grew you with gymnastics from the 80's and 90's.
Icarrus Legrand isn’t it beautiful and exquisite?! Her choreo on beam is lovely as well.
Indeed. Those who say "little room for dance because of the difficulty level" are just simply justifying their favorites. Well look at Morgan.. Difficulty on her leaps and great tumbling passes with dance. No excuse.
You killed it Morgan!
I have respect for anyone who tries the Moors whether it’s perfect or not. It’s even better when it goes with a well choreographed routine! Morgan Hurd is officially my spirit animal!
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL.
well done Morgan, love your routine, plenty of difficulty, creative and very well executed, always enjoy tour performance
Can’t wait for the fully upgraded routine she’s planning with the moors and Silvias, moors was unusually a bit piked today when in training it was laid out, but still stunning rountine. Wish it got a few more tenths than this but good job morgiboo.
Dattebayo did she talk about this somewhere?
Adam Travis no, but in training videos in her tumbling runs she does a moors, Silvias, punch front layout to double twist, and then a double layout. I could be wrong, but she did say in an interview she was fine not doing full difficulty at this completion. Also it was increase her difficulty from a 5.8 to a 6.2 so I think it’s worth it.
Dattebayo I could see her putting the Moors and Silivas in the same routine (although she’d have to work on the form on the layout double double) but I don’t know about the double lay being her last pass. She has trouble on the front lay to double twist at times so that won’t be her last pass, leaving the double lay, and she doesn’t quite have the stamina for that. Or she’ll need to improve her double lay form immensely.
Wouahhhh !!!!! Just amazing !!! Morgan is the best on the floor for me 😍😍
WOW! Absolutely stunning routine and gymnast!
Queen hope she has a great time in UF
Anyone else feel like this is underscored? Besides a couple of imperfect landings and some form in the air, I thought this was more solid than an 8.0 E-score. Little harsh...
Steve B. its for leaps
this is why it's called "artistic". Thank you soooooooooooo much! Well done
Great gymnast :)
She Definitely did her job as world champion and i approve, love this new floor routine and the way she performs it.
i love this routine oh my
BRILLIANT
YAY MORGAN 😁😁😁😁❤❤❤👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 I LOVE HER
I love her music
beautiful to watch!
Grace and power. Nobody had a floor routine like this one.
this is AMAZING
I say she has these as her tumbles to up the difficulty
1.Moors
2.front layout to double twist
3.double layout
4. Double double
She’s a powerful gymnast and I feel like she could truly do this
Exceptional dance!
WOW.
Morgi! I loved the smile at 0:34
She stepped up big time
By 2020 I would love to see her do
1st pass. Moors
2nd. Double double
3. Front full + double full (she used to compete it)
4. Piked full in.
I was thinking the same thing except a double layout to dismount :P Also, having a front full in her routine would allow her to do one less C-level dance element, saving deductions
A pike full in always has deductions (especially for her). Also she has downgraded from a full to double full combo down to a front layout to full...
Menina incrível
Besides the awkward floppy choreo at 0:21, this routine is AMAZING. Did she choreograph this herself, or Dominic Zito, or??
Wow
That Moors!! Way to go Morgan!!!
Wow!
Three Moors' in one competition must be a first.
Wow best routine 😮😮😮😮😂😂😂
Her difficulty was almost as much as Simone's plus Morgan has much better dance/presentation. A shame she didn't score closer to Simone, but I think if she improves a little she'll come closer.
I'm hoping she has both a Moors and a double double in her routine - would make her at least competetive for a world floor medal, even if she cannot catch Simone
@@Disney582 I don't know why she didn't keep the Moors. Even though it's messy, it could take out the double pike at the end (basically replacing a clean D skill with an eh landing with a messy I skill with a good landing which is worth it).

Name of song?
Lovely girl
Seriously what is with the low score???
That moors tho!
I got an 8.4 for this someone explain
Am I the only one preferring this to Simone's routine...
Don't get me wrong, both are simply just great. But if we factor in the presentation and artistry, I personally would go with Morgan's. But of course Simone's tumblings are just INSANE!!!!!
I MUCH MUCH prefer this to Biles. Biles has zero dance or choreography. It's just a load of tumbling & arm waving.
Hurd has choreography & expression. Such a shame that really isn't rewarded. The CoP sucks.
You need to watch some of the routines in the 2018 European championships if you think this is anything approaching artistry. It looks like someone trying too hard to be balletic and failing
👏👏👍👍
why so many deductions !?
Watch out Simone
If she Is able to have a 5.8 on floor and vault and beam she would definitely secure the silver at world or olympics
She's so awesome! And she had the best moors of the night
peter anderson um no...hers was piked & had bent legs. Love the routine but maybe she should reconsider that pass, it will incur a lot of deductions if she keeps doing it like that
Silver medalist AA wc
I think the e score was a little low imo
8.050 😩 min score 8.500
Cool. A piked Moors
Well I am not a judge and i don’t know much about the technical requirements in gymnastics, but just from looking i like Morgans Routine a lot better than Simones🤞🏽💖 I mean, Simone is great and i love & adore her skills, but her facial expression while Tumbling is just like „ well lets do this, I‘ll be in First no matter how i’ll land“🤷🏽♀️
I'm #TEAMBILES! 🇺🇸😂
i thought they all were required to do a double turn msybe thats why her score is low
Courtney Maffit single
I do believe Morgan is going to be better than Simone by the time Olympic trials come about! But looking at the classic vids released so far, several appear to be struggling. I mean, Simone...falling off bars? Even Morgan coming off the beam. Must be very stressful first day!!!
Anndoodle B I agree and she still managed to place in top 3
Even though I adore Morgan, it'll be hard for ANYONE to challenge Simone. Simone still won by over a full point with a fall and other mistakes. I think she'll have more competition than 2016, but it'll still be difficult to catch her.
She should get Lasik surgery so she won't need glasses on the mat!
she said she likes wearing them so she can inspire other athletes with glasses!
Her glasses make you remember her too
*_Rolling my naked eyes! I'm a gymnast with perfect eyesight, and MEN DON'T MAKE PASSES AT GIRLS WHO WEAR GLASSES!_* @@ChronicallyCassidy
i dont think she should be competing the moors yet. i dont think it will be fully credited in international competeing, its extremely piked , she has bent legs and has a very deep landing. i dont think its worth it yet. i have however, seen her train it a lot better than here. so there is defs potential. her silivas was so much better.
She actually had it pretty laid out in podium training. This could have just been a fluke.
