Every time i watch Shuffle Up And Play, it feels like adding an extra Friday into the week. The fantastically horrible FNM humour, Different and innovative formats, The flavour... Its all perfect.

I like that Prof just sits in the background like Palpatine. Pulling the strings and making people fight. Then revealing he is the real enemy. Which is great because Prof doesn't know Star Wars.
Btw the WWE style writing with the fueds and pulling the strings from the background to build anticipation must continue. This is legit entertaining as hell on a primitive and satisfying level. 😌

Another great episode, this time featuring one of my favorite magic players, Amy the Amazonian. Shuffle Up & Play always does an amazing job of balancing interesting format angles, with great gameplay and the best guests. To that end, I’d love to see a Boomer 2023 with Gerry Thompson versus Bryan Gottlieb and Mike Flores versus Patrick Chapin and Reid Duke versus Huey Jensen. Thanks for everyone’s hard work at Shuffle Up & Play, it is appreciated.

Targeting her 4/4 with Selesnya Charm would've still killed Domri Rade (note the trample) while also keeping one more creature alive.

Two things I loved about this episode. The theatrics of Prof's big reveal that caused everyone to look at him with raised eyebrows and the lengths that were fine through to see who gets saddled with Prof's losing streak.
Excellent episode. Selesnya and Izzet are my favorite guilds, so I'm stoked that they won.
Seeing Brad Nelson reminds me of "the good ol days". When we were super excited for every new set, because there were just 4 a year and when we gathered in our LGS (that doesn't exist anymore) to watch the coverage of every Pro Tour. Man, those were the days. Thanks for taking me down memory lane. love this series!

Have you thought of playing Oathbreaker on Shuffle up & Play? I've never played it before but I find the idea of plains walkers as the commander fascinating. If you do Oathbreaker for Shuffle up & Play then that would be cool!
Ouch @ 23:15. Buffing the smiter with +2/+2 and trample would still have killed the planeswalker, but also saved the creature.

Glad to see that we are back to a game with a resource system (thus making U think more than 1 turn ahead instead of borderline braindead), diverse strategies and play styles (instead of all decks playing the same tutoring and cheating things out from hand/deck/GY to use for materials for ED boss monsters for free) and formats (not just platforms) ... Thanks professor 👍🏻

Love the idea for this, very great watch
I noticed it wasn't explained, but since 2HG is a 1 game format, you get a free mulligan. It was hard to tell if Spike knew that or not. Also, that might have influenced the Prof decision with a borderline opener on the draw.
Also, Brad's deck is a Simic/Gruul hybrid since there are so many cards with Simic watermarks in it.
Being best of one doesn't affect the mulligan rules; you get the free mulligan from it being a multiplayer game
