On this channel, I invite you to join me in exploring the intricate tapestry of my life. As a Russian-New Zealand adoptee, I open up about my experiences, shedding light on topics that resonate with fellow adoptees. From vlogs to illuminating stories, this space is dedicated to sharing not only my own journey but also the inspiring narratives of others who've walked a similar path.
Having been adopted at the age of two from an orphanage in Arkhangelsk, Russia, into the embrace of my New Zealand family, I delve into the path of my cultural upbringing, the history that has shaped me, and the meaningful connections I've made with my birth family. My quest to uncover the missing links of my heritage takes me to Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, each step a chapter in my evolving story.

Your very loving son... God's grace
It’s so cool to see your relationship with your father develop even more
Love following your adventures, Alex! Hello from the USA 💘
your dad smiles look so happier
You are your birth father’s double, what a lovely wee sister. Xx
I'm so happy you posted this video, Alex. Your father is an amazing person, you can just see it. Dont even get me started on how cute your little sister is!! Have an AMAZING time !!
You can feel the love and special bond you share with your birth father and sister. Wonderful family times !
Misha is a special dude, and so are you Alex, big fan, love the videos and your story.
Your father is so adorable.
Ah Sonia is so delighted to have her brother and you're dad looks so happy
This made me smile. You’re an awesome young man. So happy you have such a great relationship with your family.
I love seeing your father. He's always so happy when you are around.
Hello Sonya from Ireland ex. Australia. You look so much like your biological dad and am so happy it has all worked out so well for you all.
I understand why Misha might feel embarrassed (even though he should not!) to speak any English. My parents are the same, they are ashamed of pronouncing words incorrectly. It's kinda sad considering that they grew up in different times, and it's totally normal that they don't have any English knowledge. We appreciate the effort, it's awesome! Good to see such nice people. :)
That is so very true.. And he should not be ashamed one bit we all learn the language by making mistakes! No shame in learning :-)
As a linguist, I can say that it’s a typical problem of grown-ups - feeling ashamed of making mistakes while learning a non-native language. Setting aside all the other circumstances (the lack of additional neurons that infants still have), this is one of the main reasons children tend to pick up foreign languages way better than adults.
@@user-on2bt2kb8r That depends. I live in Russia and speak 5 languages. I’ve got technical education.
This video brought happy tears to my eyes. So special! Very touching. Thank you for sharing these magic moments with us all.
Your dad is such a lovely person, I love seeing your relationship forming even after years apart. So happy for you
So cool. :) Nice one Alex. You have a lovely Russian family. You can tell how very happy they are to have you with them. Enjoy your stay. Sonia is a cutie and your dad has a very infectious smile. Enjoy the rest of your journey. Look forward to your next vid. Take care and be safe.
Hi Alex! Happy hello to your little sister and your family and friends! Your birth father is always so happy and friendly. Maybe you got your love of cooking from him!
I know right.. such happy, kind and loving people.. i love seeing how thier family is going...
Your birth-father has been so open to you and accepting of his new “journey.” And, he’s always smiling!
Looking forward to seeing the video "My birth parents visited me in NZ"
Ahhh that is a wonderful video with your birth father and family. Happy memories for you Alex. Enjoy your time with them.
Misha's prononciation is just fine.. I'm American and we are not picky at all on things like that but honestly his was great 🙂
What a sweet family. So exciting to hear them learning English. They did a great job.
2.53 I wish most adults were as happy to enter a room like that
Sonia is so sweet and speaking English.
When you are with your birth mother you look like her, when you are with your birth father you resemble him as well. (Thumbnail: smile and eyes). I guess you are just their son🤷🏽♀️😊☺
I totally agree with you, Treetop! :)
He has Tatiana's facial shape but Mischa's smile and eye set (and pleasant demeanor!) The best of both bio parents!
The look on your face is glowing which reflects how happy you are there with your birth father in St. Petersburg. The relationship with your sister is wonderful--I can see how happy she is the see you. Your father is probably the most excited at your being there. He probably sees himself in you when he was your age. Your unexpected coming into his life is one of the joyous moments in his life. I'm sure you all a great time.
You look just like your birth father!
Wonderful family Alex. Tell them Michael from China says hello. Awesome
Love Misha! He's so joyful and always smiling!
Hello from America !
Какой замечательный папа!
You should bring your Russian family back to NZ for a holiday.
Plan is for them to come to New Zealand sometime soon! :)
"You should" - I guess "bringing" a family from Russia to New Zealand for holiday is probably not cheap... It's like halfways round the globe and they are ... 4 people? Two kids, but anyways... + Covid times.
@@frida507 Anything is possible in this life.
We are happy with your family smile!😁
I have been watching from the start and hope to watch more as bond gets stronger, love from Scotland alex
Sonia's English sounds a bit Scottish to me. Maybe because she rolls her R nicely ... 😁
I enjoyed every bit of this. Your russian sounds so good!
Alex, your Russian is getting better and better. Now you can communicate with your father without any interpreter. This is awesome! Молодец!
Alex, I am so happy for you and your family. I hope you enjoyed the pancakes. Wish you all the best.
I'm so glad you guys keep in touch and spend time together
You and your sister look alike.
I think he looks EXACTLY like his father.
You and your birth father look a lot alike
Seeing you and the children was the best part!😊 And Mischa is definitely on fast track to a cult following too!🥞
You are an amazing guy... when I start watching your story, I start crying. Your kindness is indescribable
Спасибо родителям за замечательного сына!
I always feel happy after watching your videos Sasha.. thank you for sharing your wonderful journey with us❤🙏❤
I love how you being surrounded with kids. I can’t wait the time that you would make your own family. I know that you’d be a great father one day 😊
Your sister is adorable! Shes truely russian. Your whole family is blessed.
Hello from the U.S.!
I just also wanted to say to you Sasha that Misha is a wonderful person he could have been bitter learning that he had a son in his 20s and never got a chance to see him grow up or a say in his adoption but instead he is kind and compassionate to both you and Tatiana and grateful to your mom and dad for raising you. He has opened his heart and his arms to you and that is wonderful to see and I can certainly see where your kindness and compassion come from. I know that someday they will visit you in New Zealand and have just a wonderful time as you are now having in Saint Petersburg with them and I for one can’t wait to see those videos.
Amazing videos! You can see the warmth and love between your birth father and you

It's so heartwarming to see you and your birth father's family bonding with one another! Such precious times. I'm sure you're enjoying every moment!
Good job Alex. My mom worked in orphanages and is heartwarming too see children like you and family reunions. You have an amazing biological dad and a mom. Womens are more fragile so they need more help and support. Take care.
Awesome to see Misha again! I understood the few words he said in English perfectly! Sonia is so cute and I am glad that they are teaching English in her school. She can recite the alphabet! Also, they have a very cute little cat! Loved seeing the little kids at the end of the video with you teaching them some words in English.
Such a heart warming video. Always a good day when you post.
You look JUST like your dad and a little bit like mama tatjana . All your videos make me tear up. So sweet
So nice to see you visit with your father and sister. You look so much like him!
Thank you for posting another video. You have done a wonderful job documenting your journey and your videos are uplifting to watch.
Don't worry about your first pancake/crepe, Alex! In Russian they say: "Первый блин всегда комом" - first one turns out always wonky! Alas, yours one was looking good - I guess it's that NZ tan :))
It's so weird to see complete strangers on the internet and be so happy for them and simultaneously having that feeling of relatability and melancholy! You are such a special young man! Genuinely wishing nothing but the best for you and your family and always looking forward hearing updates from yourselves!
Honestly, so heart-warming and pure this is! Your parents and your biological parents are so so proud of you, Alex! You have gained so much love and building a massive bridge between cultural divides - so great to see you building these relationships, nourishing real friendships and soul-connections with your family and new mates in Russia!
Stay blessed, Alex! Massive hugs and kind regards to your WHOLE beautiful blended family!! Love from the UK xxx
your sister is so beautiful. ♥️ love from 🇵🇭🇰🇿
Beautiful and inspiring story.
You can feel the love and connection between the son and father. They also look the same.
Its rare to see such a pure soul. Молодец братан!
That warmed my heart so much 🌹
You all are amazing. You have dad's warmth and empathy.
The best part your sister has known you her entire life. No missing years.
Brilliant Alex your little half sister is coming on leaps and bounds in English like you are head and shoulders in speaking Russian well done both of you!
I'm practicing Russian for the moment listening and repeating and I'm slowly trying my best to pick it up at over forty years old?.
Alex enjoy your time with your family in St Petersburg and be safe and well and have fun with all of your family! . Bye bye from a Scotsman living in England. 🇬🇧🇷🇺
What a delightful family. Your little sister is a real joy
keep spreading your compassion its truly beautiful x
Hi Alex, I can see how much your birth Father loves you, and you him. And also I can see the love your birth Mother has for you too. Maria. 💗💗
He is such a Russian dad 😢 his smile is very sincere and open
Hi Alex, you have your Dad smile and your sister so cute and smart. AWESOME big family and you are Blessed. From London/UK
Thank you for your posts
We loved the train ride between Moscow and St P’s
Hello little Sonja. It makes me happy to see you on Sasha videos and to hear you speaking English. Keep on practicing ...you have excellent pronunciation. Love to you and to your Dad and of course to Sasha......from Canada.
He really looks like his daddy😊
Your dad and you share the same beautiful smile and seem so positive. ❤️❤️❤️
I am blessed seeing how you've have reconnected with your birth family and how you've got closer with time.
I love your birth father he’s so sweet ❤️❤️❤️
Very sweet. Looks like you were there for the Масленица celebration - when you eat all the bliny you can! I loved that holiday. You did much better on turning the blin that I did when I tried! I also love how you're working with the kids on their English. How lovely to connect with your sister. One thing I discovered in working with Russians is that reciting the alphabet isn't something kids learn to do. I'm glad she learned the English one!
I love it. That you put bloopers :).
Молодец, Алекс, обучаешь потихоньку язык. Всегда с удовольствием смотрю твои видео. Вот бы еще чуточку медленнее говорил, может быть что-нибудь и поняла. ☺
Английский у Сонечки очень хорош! Very good, Sonya ! Я счастлива за вас всех! Very happy for all of you !
The cat ❤❤❤
Yummy pancakes got me hungry lol.
Alex, your Russian is getting better and better. Keep practicing!
Privet from Belgrade, Serbia, to you and your familly, my slavic brother
Sestro Srpkinjoooo🖤
You, your sister and birth father all look so similar and have the same warm smile and eyes.
Alex is a sweet young man. All the efforts he has done to find his biological family are incredible. he is probably right to have done so, to find his Russian parents. But he must love his adoptive parents. They have been wonderful people; so generous, willing for Alex to meet his biological family. It must not have been easy for them.
Sonja, wow wonderful English, you must teach Alex! Hi 👋 from Kansas, USA
Misha, how lovely for you to invite us all! Looks like you'll have just enough pancakes for everyone! Did you teach Alex how to flip those cakes?
Alex, enjoy your family & thank them for their hospitality! I forgot Sonja's mum, hello to her as well!
Blessings on you all🤗
Misha's pronunciation was impeccable, couldn't find even a tiny fault!👏👏
Thank you so much Alex for sharing, its beautiful 💗
