On a cold winter day....hard to beat Boston "crappie" chowder. Basically instead of using clams....use crappie. Only difference is put the crappie in last. Very hearty with the cream and potatoes. I love beer battered crappie as well. Over the years we have cooked a bunch using the old cormeal method but we got burned out on it. Also....this sounds gross but I have made some fine crappie Jerry using a pellet grill. Wife also make crappie salad which is identical to tuna fish salad but much milder. The combinations are endless.

Throw some fajita seaseasoning on them slabs but first coat with olive oil so it'll stick then bake them for 40 minutes total. 20 minutes each side then flip. Fish tacos are the best 🤌🤌👌🐟🌮 little thin sliced cabbage & i use my own Chipotle baja sauce (made with that 2 step 🔥) as my dressing with squeezed lemon 🍋 and the end garnish with fresh chopped parsley

Fried and bogged down in hunts ketchup , Blackened I use the exact same thing Zatarains blackening seasoning ,,,
Tell you Y'all another Good Use for the Zatarains blackening seasoning ,, one pound of Big Lima beans in Crock-Pot , Ham, I usually get a Ham steak or Ham Cubes for that if I don't have some ,and season with about 2 teaspoons of the Zatarains blackening seasoning, teaspoon garlic powder, one chopped jalapeno pepper , serve on Rice , Fried Crappie goes great with those beans and Rice, My buddies over at Addis Louisiana , Donaldsonville La, Laplace La. Etc,, Showed me that long time ago when I went over to hunt and fish for a few days at their camp , I learned a lot from them no doubt , I never would have thought about Using blackening seasoning in beans but good Greif talk about good Stuff ,, I cook ALOT,, especially wild game and Fish , Fileted Crappie has a different taste than the whole frys , sometime I'll keep a few smaller ones that I can whole fry just for the Flavor , Bream or Shell cracker are the same , the Fileted ones taste different than the whole frys ,, The Blackened one's are Good , but those deep fried filets bogged down in the Hunt's Ketchup and a little Texas Pete's hot sauce to me is as good as it gets ,,

I cook them the same way as you in a skillet with butter....3-4 min per side...... shew whee..... have mercy my mouth is watering now thinking about it.....and fish tacos are best with tarter sauce, Cole slaw, lettuce, cheese and a dash of hot sauce! I love crappie and walleye fried but I also love to eat them blackened and Cajun style! And yes like u said even better the next day!

Nice video! I usually soak mine in mustard & garlic powder in water of course. Then season lightly with Tony's or cajun seasoning. Batter in New Orleans seasoned or Zatarains.
Again I like sauted in butter, garlic, little salt and pepper, always with a cajun hot seasoning. Don't forget the tartar sauce with horseradish sauce and extra dill. I make a sriracha and mayo dipping sauce. Like sharing cooking tips.

Trying this for supper tonight with a mess of crappie I caught last week. I always fried mine or take a couple lemons, slice them up and layer the bottom of a pan. Place the fillets on top of the lemons then put some butter and yellow or orange peppers cut in strips on top. Cover with foil and throw it in the oven on 350 for 20 minutes. My fiance doesn't like fish normally but tears that up. It's a healthier option too. Tight lines man! Thanks for the recipe

After watching many catch and cook videos ive come to realize my family is definately in the minority. We always fried them the same way, any good lake fish for that matter. Beer batter. Salt and pepper seasoned flour and beer added until it has a nice thin consistency after mixing. We would squeeze a little lemon juice over them as well after plating. Delicious looking recipe im gonna have to give yours and many others a try.
