Tips for setting up THE BEST sound:
How to connect speakers:
• How to Set Up Stereo S...
1. Organize your wiring.
First of all you’ll need to connect your system. This can be challenging obviously if you don’t know how to do it. This setup can be simplified by organizing the the wiring and by even drawing a diagram on paper of what yon intend to connect and a list all the parts and wired included in your setup. Draw in your tv and draw the lines to the stereo take notes and keep them in the drawer or somewhere near to refer to if need be. You’ll have to know what type of receiver you have and what row you are going to go as far as HDMI connection digital or you’ll have to get creative and use a 3rd party splitter to use with your custom setup. I can help you with
All of this just ask away in the comments section.
2. Use HDMI digital or optical audio cables
The best sound can be transferred through either an HDMI cable or a digital optical audio cable. These cables allow for the full 5.1 and up audio surround sound experience. The HDMI is a full video and sound cable that’s transmits the entire signal combined with video and sound. The digital audio cable on the other hand is just for sending sound. You’ll have so to a bit of research to find out which option is best for you. Your TV may have an optical audio out plug which can be directly plugged into your receiver to send the sound signal to the speakers. Or there are other options like HDMI arc that uses the HDMI signal to send the audio to a receiver.
Take a look at the back of the tv/ receiver to find out exactly which plugs your equipment has and to help you make game plan on how to get this stuff all connected.
3. Speaker placement.
The speaker placement is very important to get an optimal surround experience. Obviously there are different levels of to which one can take their surround sound. You can run the wires on the floor and try to get the best speaker placement as best you can OR you can create an entire room custom to be a theatre with built in wiring for speakers and built in soundproofing on the walls. Its up to you how far you want to take this but here is a simple diagram with the ins and outs of speaker placement that makes the whole process a breeze.
I have even created a custom speaker mount to the back of the tv for the centre speaker. The most sound will be coming out of the centre speaker so make sure to place it in a good spot directly under or over your tv. And Lastly if you want to know how to hook up speakers check out my video below for how to hook up speakers.
4. How to hook up a stereo that is old that doesn’t connect to the tv but you might even want a stereo audio.
There exists special devices that make hooking this type of setup a breeze. First you have to buy an adapter that somehow changes the newer HDMI TV with the stereo. This is an hDMI audio extractor there are some good options available on the internet. I will also put some great options in the descriptions. Examples if the tv is hdmi
( New TV )and the stereo has no Digital optical or no hdmi ports on it at all. But it does have Red & White RCA cables. Thats when you would use this method for closer look at installing this device check out my other video right here(
5. Don’t overlook the bass make sure to have it in a solid spot right at the front of the room so you can feel when the car blows up and flips over. The bass is s crucial. This placement will help to have an even well balanced tone and really complete the surround sound experience.
6. Have matching speakers on left and right channels as well as have the same surround matching pairs. Every different speakers from a different company or a different size has its unique sound so get the most out of your surround sound experience you’ll need to have matching speakers.
7. Make sure your speakers are on the right settings.
