Thank you, this really helped me. Turned out my receiver needed arc turned on. My remote for it was broken, but once I got a replacement remote, I was able to access the menu to turn arc on.
Thank you!! The CEC setting did the trick on my JVC EM48FTR & Yamaha SR-B20A Sound Bar pairing via ARC.
absolutely wonderful explanation 👏 👌 🤘
On your other video I connect HDMI cable arc to TV and to my reciever arc but no sounds, then I watched this video and used my TV settings to enable arc and it works. I can watch netflex movie with Dolby Atmos sounds on my Yamaha reciever. Thank You so much for this video much appreciated 👍
Thank you very much. After working on this for hours I found out that the HDMI input needed to be in ARC not 4K.
You rock!
A specific question I have is what should show on your reciever if you use HDMI arc as the connection?
If I cycle through the program inputs on my Yamaha RXV385 reciever there are lots of options, but none says HDMI Arc.

Thanks for this video. I changed the settings and restarted the tv and it's working fine. But when I off tv and on it each and every time I need to restart my tv to connect to hdmi arc. Other wise sound will come only from tv
Please help to solve this issue .
Thank you.
The video is helpful to a point, but doesn’t address my issue. The video assumes either you have a receiver or a sound bar. I have BOTH a receiver AND a sound bar. All of my components are e-Arc enabled. I have external surround speakers connected to my receiver. I would like to have Front Centre Left Right audio played through my sound bar, while surround sound audio played through my external speakers (receiver).
I can connect either the receiver or the sound bar to the TV using Arc, but not both. I can connect the sound bar to the TV using optical.
I have managed to get front audio from the sound bar using e-Arc from the receiver to the TV and optical from the TV to the sound bar, but then I have no audio from my surround speakers. In this case, I had to set the TV audio output to optical.
If I change the TV audio output to HDMI e-Arc, I only get sound from my surround speakers, but not front audio. This is useless.
There is no option to connect the sound bar to the receiver without some heavy re-wiring and reno work.
I do not really need the return channel to the receiver, since I use an Apple TV connected to my receiver as the media source. However, i could not get front sound when the receiver was connected to the TV using regular HDMI, which allowed me to connect the sound bar to the TV using e-Arc.
Great video, my soundbar is connected OK to TV, yesterday was OK and soundbar display said hdmi arc, today it can't find hdmi arc when It searches sources? I've checked cec is OK, in TV settings, so I'm stuck why TV won't find soundbar anymore

Tried connectiing both HDMI and Optical Cable together from TV to the AVR, Tried Optical Cable and HDMI Settings seperately, but I am unble to get the Sound out.

something within the settings you likely are not setting correctly....unfortunately we don't know how to offer more assistance than that

Hi everyone i have a question please, my tv doesn't have hdmi arc label port on the back of the tv but when i go to tv setting, i found ARC in audio output, does it mean that my tv has hdmi arc?
Hello... I have a question... I have a Samsung Smart TV and PTA66BT.5 is connected to the TV via bluetooth. The system is 600W I am top of the line speakers from the Z5500 THX nice sub, and the sound volume is very low compared to what it should be. When I listen to the radio I can't even put the volume up to 20 without the walls coming down. But on the TV I have to bring the volume all the way to 30 just here it somewhat ok, but again, it is nowhere near its true volume. The only think I can come up with is, the TV is limiting its power. What do you think? Thank you
Thanks
I am having all sorts of problems
Why is it so hard in this modern day and age?
Hi. I have issue with ARC input in my LG signature. It's can't make a sound through my sistem Bose lifestyle 650. I tried with onother TV and I didn't have the issue like this. Would give me a tips please how to solve my issue.
No sound to my Yamaha AVR from Samsung QN800a with eARC on, but on the rare occasion that I do, it's PCM. With it turned off I get DD+ and ATMOS at my receiver but who knows if it's real. According to Plex it's transcoded AAC-5.1
I don’t get the Home Screen of the AVR (in your case, the guitar) after I put all connections in the right place. I just get a black screen
Im trying to get my smart TV to cast to my android car stereo, sound is not a problem but I want to get picture as well.
how do I do this?
How can I add 2 soundbars to 1 Arc HDMI??
What are reasons that it would work sometimes, and others it doesn't. I have a Samsung 85" Q90 and Denon receiver. Sometimes when I turn on the TV, the receiver and audio come on with it. Other times, only the TV and receiver come on, but there is no sound, and yet other times, the TV comes on with the TV speaker and the receiver doesn't turn on. Typically, first thing in the morning, it never works properly. After it's been on a while, it typically works properly. It's almost like it works "after it warms up". Any ideas on this?
I have the Samsung TV and a sound bar doesn't work do I need an arc cable to get to get it to work
I have been having issues with ARC for a while. I have a Samsung Q90T and I've plugged the HDMI in the TV ARC port and in my Denon AVRX2700H and it worked for a while and now it stopped working and now its only showing on the tv under the setup Optical and tv speaker only?? not sure why this isn't working? I've disconnected the HDMI and reconnected it and still does not work? It was working for a while and last night i went on HULU and as soon as I launched that app it stopped working. I thought I would see if you could provide me some guidance. Samsung has been no help at all.
Thank you. Ed
Thank you for this, disabling the tv speakers on my Vizio was the only thing that was keeping it from working. You just solved my problem.
Does it matter if the TV HDMI port is EARC, and the soundbar is only HDMI ARC? I'm not getting any sound with this connection---Thanks for any info
No, it shouldn't matter.
Xbox series x is connected to my soundbar HDMI in. I then have the HDMI out coming from the back of my soundbar, to the ARC HDMI input on my TV, issue I'm having, is not getting a picture from my Xbox on the TV. Any tips?
My problem is that my Sony sound bar has an extra HDMI input, which I connect a game console. But that never works I’ve tried different components in it and it never sees anything what is it that I am doing wrong?

tv and soundbar connected through hdmi arc
As a “seasoned” IT technician and as tech enthusiast I can affirm with absolute certainty that this crap never works like it should…of course I always get it working and all the settings are correct but every time I turn off and back on my tv, one of these 3 things will happen.
1) audio wont work and need to restart receiver, sometimes more than once.
2) audio will work until I enter an app like netflix or disney and then will stop working and back to option 1
3) audio will work fine
I have a Pyle receiver that says HDMI out.. but nowhere does it say arc...will it work ?
While we cannot say with certainty it won’t work, our opinion is, if ARC isn’t imprinted it likely won’t work. Check the owners manual to verify.
