Didn't help that the FIA immediately banned it when they got word about the test. I would bet you someone would have eventually found a way to get a belt that could handle an entire session, and eventually entire weekends.
@@user-ye7sm1kt1dit probably wouldn't be cost effective at all though. Getting a cvt to last with even a quarter of that power is still a challenge today
Hello to anyone reading, i just want to remind you that God loves you. No matter your past. He’s ready and willing to forgive you, whether you don’t know him, believe in him, or even hate him. His love for you stretches far beyond human knowledge. He loves you hence why he gave up his only son on that cross so that you may recieve grace and mercy (as said in John 3:16!). We love you, and so does God. Stay safe and Stay Blessed. Have a blessed year everyone! I pray this year will only be the beginning of your bright future!❤️❤️
It sounded super weird, and takes some control away from the driver and makes it automatic. But imagine how reliable these would be today if they did not ban them in F1 and kept working on them over the years
@@junetv7992true but it was never built for it. If they didn’t banned it, a team probably would’ve built and researched on that can handle all the demands. It also would make the race less competitive and more boring

It does sound flat, but, in general, the cars of 1993 sounded like a symphony!! 15k rpm screaming down the road... yeah, those were cars! As for being designed by Newey, if I remember correctly from his book, this car was not one of his cars he liked most.
All f1 cars have very limited differences they’re allowed to make, so pretty much just imagine a bottom end teams car with whatever you think a dodge livery would look like.
that transmission has been tested but never put in the car the transmission is in fact one gear and it's not good for the engine tested but never raced with
There wasn't a belt/chain strong enough that could withstand a whole weekend. It was a dead end.

If they can put a man on the moon, they could have fixed this problem.

CVT doesn't NEED belts, Toyota does it with a planetary gear and a speed control motor

Sounds like a snowmobile box to me
It effectively is.
Where do you think snowmobiles got the idea?
@@LBKXiLo yeah nice that williams took the idea and tested it
What was Adrian Newey smoking💀
The innovation is just mind-blowing. Specifically for its time.
What happened to it?
Well, FIA banned it😢
Yes but also couldn't stand that engine a full GP distance cause it was not build for being pushed to the limits for an hour

My 80cc scooter uses CVT
CVT, just like my Prius

true!
Adrian newey designed it
Adrian said in his book that it was least successful car and one of his least favorite designs (not an exact quote).
Newey is an aerodynamicist, the transmission wasn’t his design

Wrong. He owns the Williams 14B from 1992. Mansells Car.

soooooo automatic?
But It was actually 5 sec slower 😂
CVT is the worst transmission in the automotive industry. It shouldn't be invented.
From here, to the junk yard in your Japanese crap box! CVT is hideous, awful technology!
CVT in regular car.... Gives up after a year or two... Lol.
