- We created the music video to the Söngvakeppni hit song Think about Things by Daði and Gagnamagnið!
Here is a little bit of a behind the scenes look of the day of the shooting.
I sat down with Guðný Rós Þórhallsdóttir, the director of the video and we had a conversation about the music video, the video going viral and who is paying Russel Crowe!
Daði also gave me his perspective on the day and everything that led up to this point!
Think about Things could be selected to go for Iceland to compete in the international Eurovision Song Contest that will be held in Rotterdam this year.

Their is a reason this was such a huge hit here in the uk, Icelandic quirkiness fits our humour. The video is wonderfully directed and shot, it gives dance joy, to the simplest of family scenarios.

I already loved the music video, I think it's one of the most hilarious music videos I've ever seen. Just brilliant. But after wathching THIS video I have to ask: is everyone in Iceland just so nice and likable? You are all just one of the nicest and down-to -earth and super funny people I have seen. It keeps getting better with each behind the scenes video or documentary. I just LOVE you all!
Hahaha thank you Erwin! I can't speak for all Icelanders because, as everywhere else, we also have biggots and absolutely foul people among us but I think most people in general try and be nice and friendly!

@@birtarnb I’m from the Netherlands. And Iceland will certainly get my vote this year. The song is even better than last year after a few listens, and while the surprise aspect of the new video isn’t as great as last year, because everyone knows them and their style now, it still stands on its own as very funny. Also all these hilarious lyric videos that Dadi puts out and the game make it a complete package. Also the fact that he writes about his daughter and his wife, and a steady relationship. So relatable and likable. He deserves to win this year just as much as he deserved it last year. Truly.... how does it keep getting better :-)

It shows that the dance routine wasn't perfectly rehearsed, but it fits with the video. Hulda even made a small dancing step error in the music video at 3m29s. I assume this was kept on purpose rather than this not being noticed during editing? :p Either way I love her facial expression on that moment.

In regards to the dance error thing we also wanted everything to feel normal so if the dance wasn't 100% and flawless that's ok, it's a tougher dance than it looks!
But I'll be honest, I might also have overlooked it in the edit now that I watch it again and only watch Hulda haha

They are real as they excist but they don't work or play anything, so as to being real instruments they are not.
The group wamts to spoof the fact that you can't play or sing anything live in the big eurovision contest itself but only use playback, so why not go all out with some sweet instruments?
That thing about getting your children to stand in front of every one and expecting him/her to perform in some way must be a Nth. European form of torture of some kind! We were a family of 9, I was such a shy child and the more they w'ld encourage/cajole me the worse I became. 🤐 My younger sister however thought it was wonderful and she loved the praise and attention she got from it but I found the whole thing quite 'cringe worthy' 😒 😩
