    @Go Aurika Hi, yes you can make nut milk in the Omega J8006. For example, make almond milk by soaking almonds in water overnight. Process some almonds with water. You can process the pulp two or three times if you wish. Good Luck :-)

    • @chavitavb
      @chavitavb Před 5 lety +1

      Lucivania Pereira It’s a bit time consuming which is why I make large amounts and consume that with in 3 days. The machine comes with a brush and you have to scrub the filter until the fiber comes off, but the filter is fragile so breaking that piece will be annoying. I’ve heard about people waiting weeks for a new one because it’s hard to get. The other parts are easy to clean.

    great review. I'm looking for a demo on the mincing and chopping function. My Omega seems to have arrived with a slightly bigger blank --- so it doesnt fit inside the drum. The Juicing screen fits fine. Also none of the pasta/chopping nozzles fit. I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong, rather than having to deal with the company for sending the wrong parts.
    If you know of a video for chopping function... please share. Thanks.

      I had the same concerns. How long to clean? looks easier than my centrifugal juicer. How long to prep produce? Chute looks "way" too small. Now I need a machine to cut the produce smaller. Any time saved cleaning is doubled to prep the fruit/veggies. I'm still working for a living, and all minutes are precious.

    Hi, Thank you for the thorough review. Do you know if there is a similar product on the market for industrial volume? I'm looking into purchasing something for a restaurant, but I fear that this product couldn't handle the sheer volume of drink orders that we would receive. Can you recommend a good industrial juicer?

    • @bestkitchenreviews
      @bestkitchenreviews  Před 10 lety +1

      Glad you liked the review. I can't give you a specific juicer for industrial volume but here is a link to a few of the well reviewed commercial juicers amzn.to/1pSQJYV. Some of the Omega Juicers are used in restaurants. The Nutrifaster - amzn.to/1kRznZs seems to appear on many "best of" lists for commercial juicing and it costs much more than any omega. Let us know which juicer works out for you. Hope this helped. Please subscribe :)

    I’m thinking about buying one to juice my organic kitchen waste (old meat, fruits, vegetables) to juice and pulp. The juice goes into my countertop distiller to separate the distillate from clean water. The distillate and the pulp goes into my worm bin. The smaller and drier I make it the better. I mist water to add the proper moisture separately.

    • @troybrown9586
      @troybrown9586 Před 5 lety +1

      Great question. Thought about this many times. Since it takes time to juice using this model, you could juice a good amount of certain vegetable and fruit combos (simple two to three items) and have them ready to go later in the day since the juice hold for 72 hours. Juice some items individually such as kale, beets, carrots, spinach etc. These items don't clog the juicer. Apples and cucumbers produce mushy pulp and can clog the juicer, which is why I juice apples with the items I named first. They help clear the chamber of mush pulp and juice. Hopefully this helps some.

    I just brought one of these juicers and love it. Although the breville juicer is quicker and you dont have to cut the pieces real small, it just doesnt do a good job of extracting the juice. Juicing leafy veggies is a joke. I also like that the juice taste fresher for longer. The only con is that it does take longer to juice. I always stretch my juice by adding aloe vera juice.

    I like your demonstrations a lot. This one is a little miss-leading because you have cut your produce MUCH smaller than necessary. I have the same unit and have made gallons and gallons of carrot/apple juice. I never have to cut the carrots unless one happens to be particularly large at the top which is rare. I use one of those push-down apple cutters to section and core the apples. Unless I get particularly large apples, the sections and core all fit in the machine with no problems. The difference is that I use the pusher to push the items down against the auger as the auger takes 'bites' of the food.

    Doesn't seem very practical unless you are only making one drink or two. What about those of us who make about a gallon a day? This might take awhile, too long in fact. With my Juiceman juicer I make a gallon in about 40 minutes with the cleanup. Very little prep time and this juicer only cost me about 100. I've had it for years. A new basket is needed every year which is about 15$. Always ooking for something better though, just haven't found anything yet.

      I had the original juice man juicer, and it lasted 20 years. (It cost $289 in 1987) The motor still ran strong, but they quit making baskets for it . Now have a Jack Lelain juicer, and is only OK. (Thought the larger chute would be better than the Juiceman, but the motor is under-powered) Not fun to clean either. Was very interested in this Omega press, for the cleaning benefit, and the press, but the prep work doesn't look too appealing.

      The juicers you guys are mentioning are indeed faster and cheaper. But unlike those centrifugal, high RPM machines, the Omega J8006 is a single augur slow juicer. It produces a higher yield of juice while causing much less oxidation and degradation of fruits and vegetables. And there's no comparison when juicing leafy greens.

      The warranty on Omega's site and box is 15 years. There is a card inside the box that asks you to register for the 10 year warranty, that's probably why I said 10 years in the video. I think the confusion came from this card which may have been included in some boxes and not others. Before you register your specific Omega, you can double check with their customer support :-)

    You really cut them very small.. the opening would allow for bigger pieces, but then you might have to use the plunger and then see how great the cantilever design is... NOT.. A vertical design makes more sense .

      Hi Ash, I'm not sure what foods you are juicing? As you saw in the video, everything I juiced did well and I got juice. Make sure your produce is fresh, cold and firm. Hope that helps :)

    Why in the world would you cut everything so small? I buy a 5/lb bag of carrots and run them in the shoot. The kale? I stick the whole leaf and stem in, and then plunge them in.. I make juice every 48 hours. If I cut the product up like that..? Ugg.. Just don't have the time, and unit does not require it. My juice comes pouring out super fast..machine will not bog down.

    take to long, better off putting it in a Vitamix than strain using a nut bag

    • @LindseyDara
      @LindseyDara Před 6 lety

      Does that work for you? I have a vitamix but try to juice and it was sooo pulping putting through a strainer. But my mom had bought this omega juicer 10 years ago, so thought I'd give it a try

    Do not do business with Omega. If your juicer stops working after two years, as it did in my situation, they do not follow their warranty policies.

      I've had this juicer going on 5 years now. It only takes about 2 minutes to juice an apple and 5 carrots. The time spent is in the veggie and fruit cleaning, cutting and of course the clean up. I can assemble the unit in less than 20 seconds; take it apart in less time than that. It takes about 5-7 solid minutes to clean the parts. Last night I juiced 2 bunches of kale, a cucumber, 5 celery stalks, 4 medium sized carrots, 4 apples, a lemon and a ginger nugget the size of a golf ball in about 30 minutes and it yield about 50 oz of juice. Of course you have to stop juicing when the container is full. I pour the juice in individual bottles and put them in the freezer until I'm done juicing everything. Then I pour all of the bottles into something big enough to mix all of the juice evenly, then pour back into the individual bottles. It's actually fun to take total control of your health and good for the kids in the house to see.
      Stored properly in the refrigerator, the juice from the Omega 8006 is good for up to 72 hours.
