The blender will do the job. Used smaller portions of veggies and fruits with 1 small glass of water, coconut water or chicken with lemon water. It works great for me. I feel that when you juice, I ended up throwing away all the fiber. Good luck🙏🙏

  • @famlbk

I have had done both since the 1960s. Remember when Vitamix was advertised in the back of Prevention magazine? This was back when prevention was an excellent health magazine. Their selling point was making blended veggie soups that the temperature stayed within the guidelines of eating raw. I still make my green energy soups. The machine had a stainless container and was tall. And of course all the local health stores had books on juicing, eating raw, benefits of produce. So glad this information has been available. I love doing both depending on my body‘s needs at the moment. Organic Garden magazine was helpful in growing veggies. In the 1980s. Ann Wigmore’s books on the benefits of green smoothies were and still helpful. Good to see this generation enjoying the benefits.

I have a fast juicer at the moment, and when I'm juicing leaves/herbs (usually baby spinach, rocket, and parsley) I tamp them all firmly down together into the bottom of the chute before I turn the motor on. I find I get the best yield that way, as loose bits don't get flung straight into the basket without getting juiced.
I also always save a big chunk of cucumber to go in last, as it helps to flush any residual goodness from the machinery, and removes any stickiness from carrots/apples etc., making it easier to clean after use. Celery works for the same purpose. Just a couple of tips. :)

Just come across you Jason, for some weird reason. Possibly the best lesson I've come across in juicing/blending!
One thought which did cross my mind, though is, why would I want to put a fresh juice, extracted using my slow juicer, in a high speed centrifugal environment, simply to mix it with blended ingredients? And especially if I'm going to add some chilled water afterwards, when I could add that instead of the juice, then add the juice afterwards instead.
One great thing about the Nutribullet is the pulsing facility, so that a load of liquid plus smoothie and/or powders can be mixed together without getting up speed.
    Great video! Thanks!

The reason is probably so that the juice gets enough time in your stomach for the acids and enzymes to start working on it before it dumps into your small intestine and all the fiber starts rushing it through your bowels and you miss out on a large portion of the micro nutrients and then you also get a sudden loose bowel movement.

Homemade orange juice is exceptionally healthy, always use a blender instead of a juicer as you want the whole peeled orange flesh as it is rich in vital nutrients in the juice. So simple, gather 8-10 small sweet oranges, cut in half, peel, and place in blender, initially add three cups water and blend for 2-4 mins and there you go, fresh instant orange juice. you should get 1 litre to 1.6 litres but topping up with a little more water helps.

YES. I've learned from experience this is 100% true. Soon as I stop juicing I slowly get worse until I have serious problems, like gallbladder attacks.
This is more true for adults who have spent decades eating processed foods and refined sugars. They have a pernicious effect on health, so in our youth we don't notice it. As we get older we need the phytonutrients and nutrition from juicing/blending to counteract the effects (or abstain completely from processed foods/refined sugar).

Starting juicing 8 years ago, was looking for something for inflammation. I had been diagnosed with colitis. Whilst waiting to see a consultant I googled what could help me. Guess what it was cabbage, carrots and apples. Almost instantly if healed my ulcers in my colon. Juicing is definitely my medicine. Also great for the skin.

A family member was diagnosed with prostate cancer which is at the metastatic stage now. He began juicing and I have to say his PSA levels began dropping which was amazing. However, the cleaning of a juicer is a nightmare. Disassembling all the parts, drying them and then reassembling, became a daunting process and was causing a lot of stress. It was also very time consuming, not to mention it required a ton of produce just to get a couple of glasses of juice. It actually got quite expensive in that respect. I have come to this video to see if a blender will do the same thing. It does not sound like it. Someone suggested using the blender and then putting all the pulpy thick mixture through a sieve or cloth and squeezing as much juice out of it as possible. So, we are going to try that with him. I appreciated this video because it did tell you why these two machines are different and what to expect from each one of them. Thank you so much for this it has helped us make a decision, we are going to go with a good quality blender and a squeeze cloth. Just not sure which kind of blender to buy that won't cost a fortune. Thank you again it was all so well explained as well.

When blending air in the bowl gets incorporated into the drink and can cause bloating and stomach upset. I use Breville's Fresh and Furious blender with its Vac Q attachment. The Vac Q is a vacuum that pumps the air out of the bowl before blending so excess air isn't incorporated. The drink is smooth and creamy (no foam) and it doesn't oxidize quickly. There are other blenders out there with vacuum attachments but I really like the Breville. I don't have stomach discomfort after drinking smoothies now.

I'm not familiar with the Nutribullet Balance but I had the first model about four years ago; you really had to measure stuff, have the right amount of fluid and make sure that lid was on tight (or you'd have a mess INSIDE your unit, not good for an electrical component). It also couldn't handle celery (the fibers), almonds (you'd always have a few fragments, not matter how long you ran it), hard vegetables like beets and nut butters (had to make sure you only blended for 30 seconds at a time or risk damage to the unit). Mine lasted a year with almost daily use and eventually died. Also didn't have a need for all the cups and the plastic on rubber connection between the unit and the container.
Took the plunge, bought a Vitamix 750...sure it was 5x more expensive but you don't need to "process" ingredients like I had to do in the Nutribullet. Pulverizes ANYTHING I put in it...first thing my brother did was load it with ice and turned it into powder (which was quickly used for a batch of margaritas...). Celery and beets, no problem. Also steel on steel lockup between the unit and the container and made in America.
Go with what you can afford, but I've always been a proponent of "buy once, cry once".
