We made leprechaun traps at school when I was a kid, and then the trap would be broken then next day because the leprechaun "escaped", but since we tricked him he would leave gold chocolate coins behind as a show of respect. It was presented as us playing a game and getting candy as a reward, and we were assured the leprechaun wouldn't be hurt, but I still felt weird about it as a kid. Not weird enough to turn down the blood money chocolate coins, but still weird about it. They stopped doing it by the time my younger sister went and nobody ever talks about it, so maybe it was just Dave and my shared fever dream 🤷

We also built leprechaun traps when i was in elementary scool probably like 1998ish? I didnt feel bad about it i was trying to catch a leprechaun. The teachers had also painted little footprints all over all of our traps when we were gone.
I remember one kid didnt make a trap, he just brought in an actual wild animal trap with a weight sensitive plate trigger. He was a cheater.
Can also confirm that leprechaun traps were a thing for me growing up in the early 00s.
I just liked trying to make a functional trap out of an empty shoebox and glitter. I don't think I ever considered the moral implications of the act.
Pretty sure I did this in the mid-90s too.
We did that in grade school, too, in like 2012.

when I was in the military me and a couple guys I work with were out late drinking. we heard a weird noise; I walked towards it, the mixed guy stood still and the black guy left. that's when I realized black people would not end up in a horror movie situation.
I remember in elementary school our teacher had us set up leprechaun traps around the school on Saint Patrick's Day. When we came back to the classroom "the leprechaun" had built a tower out of all of our desks and chairs. My best friend was so scared by this he started crying.

I 100% tried to trap leprechauns as a kid. And as an adult I found my nephew’s leprechaun trap and made sure not to disturb it… just in case.

The best one is Leprechaun Returns, which was a pleasant surprise. It's a dumb franchise, but you can have a good time with friends around. I can't believe Mother's Milk battled a Leprechaun. At least he went up to 11 dealing with superheroes.

He'll be invited into the Goddess's bed, then bathed, fed and we'll be released from the spell cast on us!
Now I'm hoping he does one of the old crappy Odyssey movies! But whatever he does next I'll be here for it.

Thanks to a wild snowstorm in Flagstaff today, I lost control of my friend's car and we crashed into a ditch where we were subsequently stuck for about 3 hours while dealing with some very rude tow truck drivers until a very kind man named Jean-Paul finally pulled us out.
