    Hurrem blames Suleiman embittering the fight between Selim and Bayezid. As Bayezid chases up the ones who has set a trap for him, Selim gets worried that he'll get disclosed. Suleiman confiscates Mahidevran's wealth because she has supported the revolt. Hurrem brings Selim to account after she learns that he has set the trap for Bayezid. Meanwhile, Fatma plays Nurbanu and Huricihan off against each other and turns the harem upside down. Suleiman orders that Kara Ahmed will be executed since he has taken up the revolt. Someone witnesses Gazanfer's love for Nurbanu that causes to be shed blood. Hurrem takes a vow to not to choose between his sons and chooses her nominee for throne.
    At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
    The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
    As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

      I dont know why nurbanu was portrayed as cruel,power-hungry and so ambitious and evil in the series. It's so patethic. In real history, nurbanu sultan was on good terms with hurrem sultan. And Nurbanu was known as the most religious sultana. She did some tough things with safiye, because she didnt trust safiye and safiye was very ambitious and vain. But in rest, she did only good and necessary things. Nurbanu just like hurrem, had a honorable life till her death and the people of the empire respected and appreciated nurbanu. Unlike safiye that was hated by nearly anybody.

    • @Virgo-dm7ik
      @Virgo-dm7ik Před 5 měsíci

      @@leoswiftie yeah, nurbanu deserved more respect. She did a lot of good for the state and empire. She wasn't greedy like safiye who feasted on corruption to get extra power and control. Safiye's son was similar. He ordered the execution of his first son out of envy and insecurities. His son was innocent. Halime just asked a witch if her son will ever ascend the throne.

      @@Virgo-dm7ik No religious or good woman would do to anyone what Nurbanu did to Safiye. Even irl, she was clearly cruel and manipulative and ambitious - her desire to break up Safiye and her son is a clear sign of her character.

    You know, guys, under normal circumstances, Hurrem would have crushed that insolent bug, Nurbanu, for even thinking of blackmailing her.
    Never understood why they had her budge. It's not like Nurbanu can make good on her promise. Or that anyone would believe her. After Ahmed's death, Fatma is defanged (not that she was much of a threat anyway) and Suleiman will back Hurrem against anyone anytime. So, if Nurbanu was to carry on with her blackmail, all she'd accomplish was to lose her credibility. And with it, her life.

    • @princess7jasmine
      @princess7jasmine Před 5 měsíci +4

      Suleiman isn't a reliable ally for Hürrem. He's shown time and time again he's willing to cast her out whenever he wants to. Plus, Nurbanu did have evidence in the letter Hürrem herself wrote and sent.

    • @user-ob4sq6fi3s
      @user-ob4sq6fi3s Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@princess7jasmine and who was preventing Hurrem from telling that Nurbanu somehow forged these letters?
      Plus, even if Suleiman isn't the most reliable ally Hurrem can lean on, at this point there's not a better alternative. I mean, Mustafa is dead, Mahidevran is banished, Fatma is defanged and the only contenders for the throne are Selim and Bayazid.
      So, however we see this, Hurrem has nothing to lose and everything to gain

    • @princess7jasmine
      @princess7jasmine Před 5 měsíci +4

      @@user-ob4sq6fi3s Fatma isn't as defanged as you think she is, before she was fully banished she was still capable of causing damage to Hürrem here. Sure, Hürrem COULD say that Nurbanu forged the letters, but the evidence is still against her since it's very very much known that Hürrem does not like other women being with Suleiman and her ordering Nurbanu to take out Nazenin is perfectly in character. Suleiman, more than anyone, knows this very well.
      Not to mention, Nurbanu's greatest asset is Selim and the fact Suleiman prefers Selim over Bayezid, whilst Hürrem prefers Bayezid. They had allies in court much like Hürrem does. Hürrem is powerful for sure, but she's not so unshakeable that Nurbanu couldn't do anything to her or that she's willing to take the risk by having Nurbanu reveal the letter.

      @@user-ob4sq6fi3s Sure, she could have but that risk also involves her dying in disgrace and her illness may have left her too weak to try. Plus, I'd imagine she knew that another future haseki will rise up eventually, it just happened to be Nurbanu who was very much a reflection of Hürrem's younger self fighting with the late Valide Hafsa.
