Use Google Home/Nest as phone landline for incoming and outgoing calls!
Note: Google Home/Nest can receive calls from Google Duo, but can make calls to any number
Get a free landline to your home!
All you need is set up Google Duo with google voice number and link it as video and voice app in Google Home/Nest.
And you are all set!

This thing is driving me crazy. Every time I try to make a call it tells me to turn on personal settings. Which is turned on already. When I get passed the personal settings issue, it tells me it doesn’t recognize my voice and that I need to do voice match. Which I turned off. I can’t get this $&@@ to work.
Update. I got passed making calls. I even changed it so that my number shows up as the caller ID on people’s phone. Now I just have to figure out how to make the nest ring when receiving calls. Right now my calls go to my phone

Do I have to have a cell phone to run this? But I need to use my own phone number.
What if I didn't have a phone but I do have one now but I won't have 1 in a month. Before that, phone number still work. Or does this go through your phone and really make calls through your phone?

Hello, is there a way to make phone calls remotely to Google Nest so that the conversation is activated automatically without the interlocutor giving consent to receive the call? I would need this function as the elderly person who has to receive the phone call is unable to moves.

I live in the UK, I think this only works if the person receiving the call has Google Duo and has accepted your invitation... This is very limiting

Es una MIERDA este aparato.... Alexa se lleva de calle a esta porquería.
Empezando porque es IMPOSIBLE configurarlo para hacer una llamada por celular.... En Alexa sin hacer nada en la app, se puede hacer llamadas....
Y además repetir ok google es una tortura para las gente mayor de edad !!!!! Nunca reconoce la pronunciación!!!!! Y no es para nada "orgánico" decir hey google, es mil veces mas natural decir alexa.
Y por último esta porquería de dispositivo casi no te escucha cuando esta reproduciendo música, en cambio Alexa te escucha a la primera siempre!!!!!!
