Sleepers 1996 Ending Don't own anything, don't want anything, only for someone who liked the movie and would want to see the ending scene again, which is a great one.
I find the ending so sad, these guys could’ve reach their full potential if it wasn’t for those guards, they left them with scars that they never recovered from. That’s truly sad.
As a victim of abuse myself, we choose how we let those scars effect us. People who go on to be killers and drug dealers choose they way it wasn't the abuse that makes them lead that kind if life.
They all got fucked up by this in their own way. The ones who survived at the end weren't exactly bundles of joy either. So all their lives went to shit because of it
They way john and tommy look at each other and laugh after saying we always got time for a song makes u really believe they have been friends since childhood
When I was young, I stayed up late & watched this movie. It left me in such a state of shock & since I wasn’t allowed to be up that late, I couldn’t discuss it with an adult for them to help me stomach it.
This is the perfect example of how people can experience the same traumatic experiences but handle them very differently. Some turn to drugs, crime, alcohol.. others manage to move onto professions.. careers.. others live a quiet life. The book is a difficult read.. the film did the book justice.
I cried really hard during this scene. This was supposed to be a happy ending for their story but the narration said otherwise when Shakes explained the tragic endings for Tommy and John. And how Michael becomes a recluse. The final shot with all 5 of them as a kid was just the final straw for me. I was left broken. I hated Kevin Bacon for a few years after that. He was THAT good!
the ending to this is very sad reminds me of Stand By Me where you try to hold onto friendship for as long as you can and cherish your moments together before you go your separate ways
Probably my favourite movie of all time. Favourite scenes. Father Bobby confronts the boyfriend And this one. 'nah...... We always got time for a song' brilliant.
We also were a 5 man gang named after one of the streets we grew up in. Never a pot to piss in and all broken homes but totally brothers to a man. Lossed one of them exactly a year ago and not a minute goes past I don't think of him and how it once was. Unbelievable heartbreaking sometimes but that is soon converted into joy and laughter with all those priceless memories. RIP my bestest friend ever and ever Ian Francis Joseph Fleming 😢❤❤
Sad as it is; I love the ending. It does not sugarcoat what happened, it does not magically change all their lives because it what be nice. It provide a real ending to the tragedy it tells.
I read the book sleepers and I highly recommend it, I was in tears from the moment the boys were sent to that prison right through to the end. Not many films can live up to the film but I think this one does .the actors really bring the characters to life, I cried throughout the film
Beautiful people destroyed , great cast,, wounderful actors , its a great story of what went on in these institutions it happened in my country as well , mainly to girls and women the state has a lot to answer for its a actions
The ending is gut wrenching when you learn this band of 5 childhood best friends, once inseparable, it was their gathering ever! and those remaining alive, moved apart & away, living a low profile life after this trial. Would they ever think about the memories of their friendship, the time they spend together and more so about the events and trial and how they came together when the bond of lifelong friendship called for it?
A very well-made sweet but at the same time bitter ending. John and Tommy because of their childhood experiences turned them into career criminals and cut-throat murderers. But here, they are just being kids again enjoying the time of their lives with their childhood friends who also is the only family they both have. It wont last though
The fundamental flaw of this movie is that records would have shown that Pitt's character was also in at Wilkinson's and he would never have been allowed on the case. Apart from that brilliant movie.
they said the records are deleted after so long. the flaw is that the guard on trial...Ferguson...says yes when asked if he witnessed any rapes at the Wilkinson home for boys. if hed said no it wouldnt have been so easy to prosecute him/ them.
I heard this film isn't apparently a true story. The author of the book refused to speak about it when New York said they don't have any cases like the one they were involved in. Don't know what to believe.
Not a bit insensitive. This type of bullshit cry baby garbage today is the beginning of the end of the good life. Congrats on being a part of that cancer.
@candom rommenter Interesting to see that you need to call other people "moron" only because your opinion differ from them. That clearly betrays your education (or rather the lack thereof). Don't bother to reply again. I'm not going to waste my time debating with someone like you.
@@PsychoKillertheGame I'm not insisting my point of view here; I'm merely asking about people's perception if this is "insensitive". If you think it's not, fine. Funny you feel the need to call other people "cancer" when their opinion differ from yours. But thank you! I'm glad to belong to people who try to be sensitive in front of those who were raped and who don't insult others just because of differing views. Good day.
They don't make movies like this anymore. Love it the end is happy but also very sad at the same time
They all follow a formula now. People’s attentions spans have diminished. There always has to be something going on visually to stimulate people.
the end is just sad. das einzige schöne/positive ist die dicke/einmalige freundschaft
True. It is hard to imagine that a film that morally ambiguous would be made in today´s Hollywood - with A-list actors and crew.
I find the ending so sad, these guys could’ve reach their full potential if it wasn’t for those guards, they left them with scars that they never recovered from. That’s truly sad.
So sad and so true 😢

Apparently true the Priest maybe the real hero, rgdsColin
That's the thing. We'll never know
They all got fucked up by this in their own way. The ones who survived at the end weren't exactly bundles of joy either. So all their lives went to shit because of it
It amazes me how underrated this film is. I would have thought it deserves the same word of mouth recognition as Shawshank. One of the very best
Yes. Its sad that nobody has done a movie reaction video to it, that tends to give old movies a new audience.
You just did buddy. Who cares who does a "reaction" movie. All that matters is you enjoyed it/moved by it.
Subject matter was a little too raw for people maybe. Adults getting horrifically abused in prison is something the public can stomach.
100%!
It's considered a classic..
They way john and tommy look at each other and laugh after saying we always got time for a song makes u really believe they have been friends since childhood

I went through horrible stuff and my friends have departed apart from one. I hold him as my favorite human on earth.
the ending to this is very sad reminds me of Stand By Me where you try to hold onto friendship for as long as you can and cherish your moments together before you go your separate ways
Probably my favourite movie of all time. Favourite scenes.
Father Bobby confronts the boyfriend
And this one.
'nah...... We always got time for a song' brilliant.
I hope there is a special hell for those that commit these crimes.
The power of friendship. So precious ❤
A bunch of good looking men loaded with incredible acting chops 😊❤👏👏👏👏 Minnie Driver did good too ! Love this movie ❤

This movie... a gem !
R.I.P Brad Renfro ! You are truly missed !
Even the soundtracks amazing!!!
John Williams composed it.

They were simple & humble souls,Who got Happy Just being together & True Friends ❤
Non mi stanco mai di vedere questo bellissimo capolavoro con degli attori straordinari, fantastico.❤️💚💜💙💛❤️
Great example of a perfectly cast movie.

I have seen this movie more than 10 times but the ending stil makes me cry
Absolutely brilliant film, one of my all time favourites
Such a sad ending. Such a great movie. The past is a place we can only visit in our memories
Michael living “quietly and alone” is the saddest for me.
An absolutely beautiful film! The sadness and the triumphant does make it a very special film...
A story of true friendship so sad in parts but up there with the best films ever made.
Friends Forever.....
Hell of a movie! I love the whole film!
One of the very best films 🎥
Minnie named her son after all 4 them. So sad.
I thought she named her son after Shake's character no?
@@amanred9337 His name is “John Thomas Michael Martinez” but his mother refers to him as “Shakes”.
@@getuphereletsdance Cool. Thanks for the clarification
@@amanred9337 No problem!
In the book it is mentioned that the child is John's son
Brilliant film.

A Masterpiece
Magnificent film ...
This movie is so amazing and incredible!! Masterpiece!!
someone once said, " every person in your life will have one last moment with you & you wont even know when"...
Ron eldard is a brilliant actor so underrated just realised he was in drop dead Fred as mickey bunce
Scent of a woman as well. Just a cameo though.
The only film that brought me to tears.
I love this movie... The best
Compare this to the garbage they make nowadays.....doesn't compare
....doesn't compute.
This film marked my 17th birthday!!! I was platonically in love with the 4 characters. I bought the vhs of this movie.
İ always cry in this scene, im turkish

I watched this in 1996 great movie
Very powerful movie ❤💔
a true masterpiece
Revenge on the one who hurt you feels good
You all should read the book... its a great read...

I think he said that all juvie records are destroyed after seven years. Maybe he started college later, dunno
I think the flaw is not adressing the issue more than anything. I’m sure he could have kept that quiet but would have been good to know how
@@sacred1827 if i remember correctly they did adress the issue in telling that the records had been deleted.

Here you go - all u needed to do was put Sleepers Nokes Death in the search line

Would be like a platoon ending in a way, together with Chris' monologue of his thoughts on the war itself.
These blokes need to meet george pell
Was happening in Hollywood that’s why no Oscar’s…
Brilliant movie but the pedo's should have died way more slowly.
Amazing and poignant movie.
Ending was so sad

Who thinks that the girl's joke ("Is this a gay bar?") a tad insensitive, considering the guys were raped and she knows it by the time she says it?

Kevin Bacon had a funny karmic deal for this life he was born into
Called Bacon and had a nose like a little piggy snout
As with most things the book is so much better, still a good movie though.
o puto da carol é msmo igual ao pai 😂💪
could ve been a good movie. I am not a fan of its musics and victorious scenes
Fucking good movie!!!!!!
What on earth are you rambling on about!
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but this film is terrible.... The acting is okay, but that dull narration through the whole film...
I wouldn't say it's terrible but it's not a great film either. 5.5-6/10
Hope they were ok.
Forgot about this movie, not the greatest but you can really relate to it n the cast....🫡
