    wow, man. just wow. I did start with Mays years ago and switched to 3ds max because of the companies I was working for. But MASH got me really excited. Thank you for this video.

    Something about the final voxelized smoke effect doesn't look too great to me, even though everything else looks pretty convincing. A MASH falloff object could probably be used to disperse the smoke after the splash starts, right?

    • @Autodesk_Maya
      @Autodesk_Maya  Před 6 lety

      Good point. Yes you could do that. You could also use the shader to fade the smoke colors (similar to what I did with the meteor). You could even add some transparency, but then you'd lose a bit of the "toy block" effect (although sometimes they have semi-transparent pieces too).

    Hi, to run mash dynamics smoothly so I need to increase my ram memory or graphics card?

      RAM and CPU will help more than graphics card.

    can i use maya student version for my personal use and for free lancing ?

    • @Autodesk_Maya
      @Autodesk_Maya  Před 6 lety +1

      Unfortunately, you can't use it for free lancing unless you're giving away assets for free. You can't sell anything made using the student license.

    I wish my laptop could handle Maya 2018.... Sadly will have to stick to Maya 2014.😢

    • @Autodesk_Maya
      @Autodesk_Maya  Před 6 lety +1

      Depends on what you're trying to do. In a lot of ways, Maya 2018 is actually more efficient than 2014.

      Maya Learning Channel the the moment struggling to learn character animation and modelling... Reason why I want 2018 is for mash/motion graphics.

    • @Autodesk_Maya
      @Autodesk_Maya  Před 6 lety +1

      MASH is actually very efficient. You don't need a super powerful computer to run it.

    • @ILLRICARDO
      @ILLRICARDO Před 6 lety

      Maya Learning Channel oooohh, cool, thanks, gonna try 2018 now!!

    • @Autodesk_Maya
      @Autodesk_Maya  Před 6 lety +1

      Just a note that for this tutorial specifically, you will need a bit more power to run the Bifrost portions (liquids and dynamics in general tend to be resource intense). But for most MASH-only effects, even under-powered machines can do quite well.
