I know you're not a veterinarian, but I just had a lightbulb moment, thinking about how I feed my dogs. I've been adding a fish oil supplement to their food, and you are probably right about it being rancid, even though it is kept in the dark and refrigerated. They love sardines, and I can get sardines packed in water without added salt, so that is undoubtedly a better source of fish oil for them than the fish oil supplement I've been giving them. I can do three times a week for them without impacting the balance of nutrients from the rest of their food too negatively, and they LOVE sardines! That just makes so much more sense than the fish oil supplement I've been giving them.

Yeah but you can only eat so much can fish, after eating sardines for just 2 days I'm like not again, I guess you have to force yourself to eat it everyday plus you have to eat other foods too or you're going to have some deficiency of some nutrients plus to be healthy we can only eat 2 to 3 times a day so is not as easy as it seems, but if all we need is to eat can salmon, sardines or tuna 4 times a week and get enough dha omegas 3 and not have to buy an omegas 3 supplement then it can be achieved. And eating eggs is easy specially if love eggs.

    Dr Berry,
Will you please do a video on Proper Human Diet for toddlers/preschoolers?
Should they be on a Keto Diet? What about scenarios like school providing "healthy" snacks that aren't heathy? Kids going in and out of Keto bad?
    Thank You!

I would guess just keeping them away from sugar and high carbs. Most parents do not like to cook so much and would rather just give cereal

From what I understand babies are born able to switch between sugars and ketones easily. Breast milk is high in both sugars and MCTs. Modern baby diets probably turn that ability off pretty quickly though. And we wonder why children are developing T2 diabetes at 9 years old nowadays. 🤔😢🍻

Another great video loaded with practical and valuable advice! Can you tell me how many ounces of canned cod liver per week is safe to eat per week? Should I be concerned about too much vitamin A?

Awesome! It's irrelevant that I can't eat eggs without severe gastric distress, because I enjoy tuna and salmon, which have about 50x the DHA

I tested as allergic to eggs and milk as a child along with mold, mildew, housedust, and numerous types of pollen. Back then it was simply hayfever type symptoms. As an adult eggs and dairy also caused gastric distress. I assume it's the proteins. Nowadays I will make scrambled eggs with a whole egg and a couple of yolks. Minimizing the amount of whites seems to help. If I avoid wheat(gluten) for long enough (it was over a year when I noticed) my hayfever allergies seem to go away but it doesn't help with my food allergies. 🤓🍻

flaxseed has very bad fat ratios, it contains way too many Omega-6's. However, flax seeds don’t contain as much omega-3 as eggs/cod liver.

So well explained Doc. Thanks for the clarity on this , you’ve done it with such lucidity. I find it challenging trying to curate a vegan diet for my clients in terms of filling up nutritional gaps and unfortunately even getting the ideal dha, b12 & zinc supplements warrants caution.
