Yeah, and 1080p came out in 2008 already! Computer processing has only come on leaps and bounds since then. And yet dashcam companies seem terrified of providing a quality product.
People need to understand that if you have a dashcam installed, it will pay for itself with just ONE INCIDENT. If that's all it takes to prove your innocence and save you from going to court or worse, then it's worth it, even if the dashcam costs several thousand dollars!
Dashcam companies seriously need to get with the program.
Did you notice the lag in the multiplexer. Their was a 1 -2 sec delay when the movement in shown on the screen.
While I do understand why Thinkware built their multiplexing system the way they did, I would prefer a system that doesn't cut down on the resolution of the extra cameras (and I'd like to have something that works with my U1000 system too).

Same here. I run a pair of 2CH dashcams for a 4CH setup to maintain the higher resolution, but hey, good to have options depending on what works best for each situation. :)
@@VortexRadar That's what I am looking to do. I would be interested in a video around the positives and negatives of doing it that way, along with the limitations and problems associated with doing that.

Great vid! I think having two separate apps to control general settings from cloud features is a great idea, seeing how buggy some of this tech is. With my buggy Blackview 900, most of my problem is trying to diagnose what is actually wrong with it. If Thinkware has similar problems (which I hope it wouldn't), atleast you can isolate what is wrong with it and if it is cloud related, you can still use it as a traditional dash cam. I would really like to know more about this Q1000 as a replacement for my Blackvue 900 with the cellular module for real time monitoring.
As a truck driver, i like all the extra angles as someone could hit the side of the truck and not appear in ethere front or rear angle. An extra wireless camera that runs on battery would be great for the times that I haul a different trailer.

@@VortexRadar Surprised the nearby vendors haven't sugessted to the venue that the speaker vendors should be located outside. Then they can have a speaker war to see who is King.
Well it’s the mobile electronics area which means that you get all the speaker people too who blast constantly. Other parts of the shows have people revving engines. It’s just a noisy place and often hard to hear a person standing three feet away, lol.

Thanks for this posting. Like the bigger battery for the dash cams. Would like to see a detailed review pros and cons of the multiplexer vs two 2-channel dash cameras. With two 2-channel dash cameras the vehicle owner has two cameras operating at the higher resolution. Also noticed a delay from the live action to what was displayed on the monitor. Is this due to the processing speed or WiFi/Cloud upload/download delay? Thanks for sharing.
Oh, yeah that was just the normal WiFi streaming delay.
@M&J GLOBAL TRANSPORTATION CORP I thought they had that.... shoot. I am looking at replacing my buggy Blackview 900. I have the extra sim card device for real time updates but it has barely worked correctly for more than a couple of days. I think it is more in the app as that feature is basically useless. if Thinkware can top Blackview, they would gain a ton of new customers.

Good vid, the new battery seems like a power house can it be using with other dashcams? The fact it keep a dashcam charge for 30 days is insane. Another I wonder what will happen if Sony,samsung or any other mega tech brand gets into the dashcam
So basically the U1000 is not able to run the new app and connect via Bluetooth? I've been comparing the U1000 & A139 Viovo. It seems the issue is that bad with U1000's connectivity they have gone to the extent of another app all together for future models.
I want to know why there's no available dash cam or even an action cam that can take a high resolution, hi shutter speed photo approx three times per second.
I wish Thinkware would experiment with mirror cams.

I’m new to the dash cam scene, for someone new anyone recommend this multi cam that’s in the video considering that,or the 70mai 800s front/back
I'm excited about the app redesign. I love my u1000 but the app is buggy, slow and a pain to use. It's almost embarrassing that thinkware released their app and charge us so much money for their dashcams.
Mehhh wish they came out with an updated u1000 love but hate it lol vortex what would be an upgrade from the u1000 video quality and phone connectivity wise

So I’ve said this in multiple videos now, but Blackvue wasn’t at SEMA. They will be at CES though in January.
I decided to buy Dash-cam but still I can’t choose the best dashcam. Pls let me know which Dashcam is the greatest. No worries about money. I need 3-Channels.

Man, they can do better. With the availability of mini servers and 10G data speeds, I'd just use that instead of the multiplexer. You can run computers right off the truck batteries. The only improvement in this regard is from small car, home users.

It's crazy to me that these manufacturers don't have an issue offering a battery pack for $1200, but when people ask for a quality camera with all the features consumers actually want, they think that nobody will pay that much. I'd pay twice as much for a camera that does everything I want! Right now, there's absolutely no reason for anybody to pay more than $250 for a dashcam! All you get for paying more than that is just fluff.
Still bummed out that my Thinkware camera stopped working when it would get warm in the sunlight after only 2 years. It was nice while it lasted, but unfortunately did not do much for recording the teenage girl that slammed into me in a construction zone.
1 app guys (figure it out). Oh, and 2-4K for all cameras.
with how buggy cloud connect works with their competitors, I think having a separate app is the way to go and I assume they know that too. My Blackview 900 was purchased with every remote monitoring feature I could have, including a monthly sim card/data plan and it is all basically useless. It is no better than your standard dash cam you pull the memory card out to your PC to view. Even my settings keep defaulting back to factory.... All powered by one lousy app. This tech in general needs to improve first so separating the cloud features (for now) is the better idea.
The R8 is selling for 200 on Amazon rn wtf should I buy like 10.

While all these innovations are convenient and exciting, they're not addressing the core issue; resolution, which is still too poor to pick up license plates. Ironically, the footage showed @2:59 shows even during day, from just a few feet away, these dashcams fail miserably to pick up any license plate.
I use a Go Pro 10 with a 5.3k resolution as a dashcam, and it looks awesome. But that still can't pick up every license plate in every situation, particularly at night.
Until dashcam companies start using better microprocessing chips, they're all going to suffer from the same problem; not being able to read license plates.
Same BS every year...
Just ignore these type of companies
I go for Viofo A139 Pro 3CH with real4K. Bye bye 960P in 2023 🤦🏻♂️
