    Section 8 should not be passed down through generations as though it’s an inheritance. It’s not their money or benefit, and was intended to be a subsidy for those who truly need it not a gift for people feel entitled. It’s a broken system that creates dependency and does not incentivize people to work.

I think if I sold my home, car and all my belongings, told the state I have no money, I would make out like a bandit living off the state. I could get free rent, food stamps, medicaid and who knows what else. I'm telling you, these people on assistance really know how to work the system. Do you think that if people knew there wasn’t anyone who was going to provide free housing, free food, free healthcare, free live in babysitters for their kid with autism (even though mom doesn’t work) people might be more motivated to finish school, maybe go to college or trade school, and not have a bunch of kids they can’t afford? Welfare is meant as a stop gap for people who are struggling, not a multigenerational way of life. We can’t afford to keep paying everything for people who are capable of working but won’t. We have to stop penalizing couples who get married and have kids vs single mom’s having many kids with different men who father children with different women and don’t pay a dime in child support, so they just keep fathering children. After watching these cases, I am so surprised and angered by entitlements and entitled people who believe the world owes them something.

    I'm ambivalent about the people who get rent assistance, food stamps, etc, etc. I came out of the Navy in 1963 with a GED as I didn't finish high school. I held various jobs and my wife worked to get me through LSU. After graduating in 1968, I went to work for a DoD mapping agency. That organization sent me to graduate school in 1977 at The Ohio State University for a year and then I stayed on my own to finish the course work and write my master's paper. I transferred to a DoD component in Panama that later moved to San Antonio. From there I transferred to an Army component in Monterey, CA. I retired in September 2000 and then worked until May 2008 for the City of San Antonio. My point is that you can't expect the government to do everything for you. You have to show some initiative on your own and not always have your hand out expecting the government to take care of you. This lady expects the government to provide housing, food stamps and medical care for her and her kids. She appears to be a drain on society without any contribution.

    • @whitway12
      @whitway12 Před 5 měsíci +1

      There’s seems to be a pervasive epidemic of a younger generation (although it happens at various ages) believing they are entitled to everything for nothing. Government assistance is just that; assistance. It’s meant as a hand up for a person to then do their part to seek employment or further resources, unless it’s the case that someone is absolutely incapable of working or earning a living. It seems this service has been overly corrupted and exploited to the point that people have figured out how to live off of it, be it that they have children, or they hurt their foot back in 1995, or they have anxiety etc. While mental health is a serious issue, and many many people live with mental health diagnoses, including myself, there are certain personal responsibilities an adult has to seek treatment to manage their symptoms, if that is possible, so they can effectively contribute to society. It’s extremely disheartening that there are people out there that desperately need assistance/disability who get denied because of the amount of people that abuse the system. This problem is further driven by a victim mentality and a complete inability to accept accountability. Pair that with a nasty attitude, smug, entitled, narcissistic behaviour, aggression etc and it’s a nightmare situation. You see this woman pull smug faces, blame everyone else for her problems, use her children as an excuse, claim that ‘it takes time to look for a home’ all the while having known for a long time she was to be evicted. It’s such a joke.

      It’s poor because people won’t work and expect everyone else to pay for them. People need to make better choices and we need to start holding people accountable for themselves and their kids.

    Just to be clear; our government houses illegals, gives them smart phones and food, and throws Americans out on the streets. Judge Simpson navigating the absurdity with compassion and grace. ❤

      because people keep voting for candidates who are part of a group of corrupt politicians who monetize their political position, by doing favors for corporations, politicians & the party. When a good candidate pointed out the problems with this , he was attacked full force, 24/7 by them & their system of corruption. ill leave it up to readers to surmise who would put America 1st.
