I have the Cobb tune on my 2016 ST and my friend has had it for years on his 2014 ST and it's always worked for us no problem. Maybe you were doing it wrong or your AP wasn't working properly.
If you're running an OTS tune next time you want to launch engage the LC as normal but press the cruise - button. Rpm's should go to 5500 or so. 2500 is fuel cut and 5500 is ignition cut or vice versa.
Very cool, you also have the capability of doing 0-60 times, try it with Launch control on then off to see if the times are quicker to 60.
I got my ap in april ran a stage 1ots tune for a couple months and it always had it lol just cant be scared to mash it to the floor

Koriginal ST basically same thing as LC you floor it and leave your foot planted on the accelerator when you push in the clutch it will hold at 5000rpms if your on the cobb ots tune
if you hold down the cruise control on/off button it should raise the rpm to 3k I believe.

V221 with my Fiesta has LC standard and if you hold "off" cruise control it will do burnout mode! skiiiiirrtt
Get headers, an intake manifold and throttle body spacer, and a larger cat'd down pipe along with pulleys.
Then get it tuned. :P
But seriously, get a mechanical LSD. It'll make a world of difference.
Edit: Oh, man. 2500 RPM launch? Well, if the tuner allows the wastegate to close for more boost, then it might not be bad. I launch mine at 3500 for Autocross on stock tune.

That's cool dude, but I prefer my own 2 feet!! When I had my first race against a 2015 GTI, I smoked him off the line by launching at about 2500 or 2600 rpm. It's the sweet spot for my stock 2015 ST, not surprising that the LC is set at that rpm. But maybe not right for tuned for max power higher in the Rev range..? Thanks for sharing bro....
You probably didn't commit to putting the foot to the floor, we also can't set the rev anymore, they took that out. Also during twostep keep flooring it and hit the plus button i think it was on cruise control for real "Launch mode" which holds it at 4k

I've found that with the 0-60 timer in the performance section, my times just launching it on my own were faster then with the 2step as well

john jones owned a 2008 mazdaspeed3 gen one and sold it because I wanted to upgrade to an evo x , sti or even ST. i love their blowoff valve systems
Try them all, see what suits you mate. Its about the driving experience, had an 03 sti then a mk3 ST which I currently own love it. But nothing compares to that AWD grip and launch. I looked into the Evo 8 but it was just ludicrous money to run.

So, when you tried this the first time it probably didn't work because you needed to have all of your traction control turned off and such.. that was the problem I was having anyways. Oh and when are you putting out some new videos??
So I'm lost.. been trying to figure this out, do you need a AP/tune to use the launch control feature? Or no? Is this feature able to be used completely bone stock?

I have Cobb stage 3 on mine and I can't get the launch control to work. Tc off, clutch down, 1st gear, floor it. Just red lines, also how do you get your speed on the screen in the instrument cluster. I have a 2014, is that just in the newer model?
I have a 2014 st as well, mines just running the stage one ots map as well and I can’t get mine to work. ESC off, first gear with clutch in, floor the gas and it just jumps to redline
I found the problem you can't be gentle with the throttle. Floor it as fast as you can. It accually doesn't have to be in gear and tc off. Just as long as clutch is in and your going 0 mph.
quick question when using launch control did u get any clutch burning smell??? in just assuming i was riding the cluth maybe,not releasing it fast enough not sure tho

Launch control in a Focus ST is kinda pointless because all it does is spin if the rpms are too high. And at low rpms it kinda defeats the purpose of launch control.
Bro I have a question. I bought a st3 a year back. I bought it from Toyota. The car is only straight piped and has a bov and a intake. I was the second owner the car is mint. However one day I stumbled upon this happening. I rev my car instead of honking and my car started two stepping and then I went into my neighborhood and I started messing with. The car sounds just like how your doing and my car will bang at like 2500 rpm. So I’m guessing the car has launch control or 2 step. But there is no Cobb accessport when I bought the car.

Koriginal this shit is now. If I put it in first and put my foot all the way down on the gas it will just bang at 3k and just start making popping noises. I try not to do it often since I’m not the original owner but the car often back fires when I’m cruising idk if that’s cuz the full straight pipe. Like I said I don’t know cuz I bought it from Toyota as in.
@@teamswagization its possible someone put an acpv3 tune on it, and didn't unmarry it when they sold it. which sucks for the owner of the accceport, cause its expensive (like $275) to re-liscence.
@@teamswagization yes if it bounces at an rpm that’s obviously not redline than you have some sort of a flashed tune on the ecu. That means the previous owner took the access port with them when they sold the car but didn’t untune it. It basically makes the AP almost useless to the old owner as it costs $385 + shipping to and from Cobb to make it able to be used again and they’re only like $550 new. Bad news for you is there’s a random tune on the car that could be dangerous for the car. If you buy your own access port you can reflash the stock tune and/or a new tune BUT if the firmware is someone other than Cobbs, flashing the Cobb ap over another company’s firmware will brick your ECU according to cobbs website. Best bet for you is to go to a Ford dealer and ask them to reflash your ecu and then you can safely go your own modification route

you still need to clutch with launch control. The real reason for it is to build full boost at standstill. Do you hear the blow off he is getting while parked? You would need gnarly tires for it to really be worth it.
