I bought a 1978 Camaro to race with Polebarngarage TOMORROW and i think I’ve bought the worst Camaro on the planet. It actually is falling apart while I’m working on it and we have 36 hours before we race!

I had a 77 Nova, started driving "funny" on the highway, about an hour trip to a friends... luckily said friend had an arc welder... both rear mounts of the front sub frame pulled through... so instead of nice visit with old friend, we welded every piece of scrap metal we could to that car, and honestly, it never drove better... aahhhh to be young and dumb again.. car was a freebie, that I took the effort to swap a 305 into that was also free, a hilarious neutral drop machine that I daily drove for one abusive summer.
If anybody can whip that trashcan into a racecar it's you! Good luck and be safe!

Man for 4 years I've had a rusty camaro. Was going to restore it, then realized I don't have the time or money. I really just wanna get it done and drivable, but to afraid because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. This video has given me a starting point and I'm itching to get back to it. Thanks man. I’m really surprised that he didn’t start by adding the 4x2 square tubing in the rear, he uses them all the time. I’ve seen Casey make a rear suspension and the rear end linkage looked like a Y looking weird slingshot but it worked. I believe in him, he will get it done. Good luck on the race bud! Stay safe!

You cant have trim on a race car because it minimizes debris from coming off on the track when contact happens and causing flat tires, and the debris from getting thrown into the stand of people and drivers which helps with injuries and wrecks.

I was thinking along those lines, but fab up the motor into the Model A they have. It'd take a lot of fabrication and labor though. Not sure how sentimental they are about that car either. Seems they both enjoy that car as is.
Does anyone have any imagination anymore ? Hayabusa ? Really ? .... it's been done to death. You can look on CZcams and find at least 20 different cars in 20 seconds or less. Everyone has this brilliant idea of "Let's put a Hayabusa engine in this small car. Nobody has thought about doing this before."
It's a lot more work than what people think. Sure, they go like a rocket. They break lots of parts in the process. And you have a car with no reverse gear.

have you thought about running a frame rail from the front subframe back to the spring perch. gives the subframe something solid and will keep the car from folding in half. also will give the roll cage a solid foundation. there i fixed your problem now get to work!!!

Why not make a roll bar connecting the rear spring plate you made to the front subframe. This situation is why they make roll bars
