Well, now I know what happens when there's a draft in Poland: the Poles violently fight the enlistment officer!

I like how in most of this and the others harv just goes with it, but the Statue of Liberty being made by “coca cola java” was the breaking point.

I think the middle ages ended in 1453. That feels about right and is when the power structure of Europe formed. It was the end of the 100 years war, Spain was mostly done with the reconquista, and Constantinople fell establishing the Ottomans as a major player.

It might be recency bias but I thought this one was his funniest timeline yet. The funniest video of his is still the second Laotian wiki video, though.
19:16 Joseph Whitworth produced the Whitworth Rifle, the first sort of common rifle that was commercially available, and apparently the gun that was used to shoot that general who said "they couldn't hit an elephant at this distance".
It was quite a hit with the few confederate troops that had them, and also had a very weird way to aim the rifle, where you lay down, rest the rifle one of your legs, and hold the butt of the rifle with your non trigger hand (it's weird and it's best to just shoulder it normally).
Even better. It was the first rifle to ever be accurately and precisely machined, that makes it combined with its weird construction a VERY accurate firearm even by modern standarts. For that time it was just THE best rifle, but so expensive only few were ever bought and made.

Actually, William Symington DID build the first practical steamboat, the Charlotte Dundas, in 1802. It was like a smallish riverboat with a paddle wheel. It was actually the second steamboat ever built, but the first one's design was impractical.
I would have guessed that the one that calls the Pacific Ocean "destiny" probably originally referred to manifest destiny, but that term wasn't coined until 1845...
Had to look up the electric car one, turns out it's right if you change "car" to "tram". Though I also learned electric cars were a thing back then, until combustion engines that could propel cars faster than the around 14 mph those electric engines could manage came around.
Yeah, energy density of oil was literally unbeatable back then. Even most modern and sophisticated batteries are no match for it.

1:38 It was a steamship. The Charlotte Dundas was one of the first ever paddle steamers, a canal barge tug that first sailed on the Forth and Clyde canal in Scotland on the 4th of Janurary 1803. That's even a model of it he put on screen while talking about it.

If I recall correctly, the Gauls and Celts were defeated by the Romans and were effectively abandoned to the Roman colony of Britannia. The history and culture of these people is left undocumented and survived only by oral history and tradition that is coloured by the many other cultures that came into contact with them over the centuries.

The mention of the ending of the ice age was right. There was a small ice age between 1430 and 1850.
14:17 the idea of trying to predict when the second coming or end of days will be is crazy (at least if you're main religious text is the bible). It literally says in the bible that no one knows the day or hour when it will happen. If you don't believe me, read the gospel of Mark chapter 13 verse 32 (yes, I did use the internet to figure out exactly what verse it was, but then I grabbed a bible and read that verse to check if the intern had the right verse). I may be Catholic, but that doesn't mean I have the whole bible memorized and can pull specific verses out of thin air.

Feudalism is how I’ve personally organized Ages. I’m not saying it’s right, but before I knew what feudalism was, I played Age of Empires III. I tend to think of the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Feudal Age, and the Dark Ages. Whenever I hear “Middle Ages,” one specific tune I may never know the name of and my copy of all of Shakespeare’s works pop into my head. I think the Middle Ages ended decades before Shakespeare was born, but it’s stuck in my brain 🤷♀️ I’ll keep watching history videos for fun and maybe the links in my mind will get corrected

Wich would thus mean to me, that the middle ages would be the mideval age, The Rennasance, and the Colonial Age.
