@@stealthdev Respectfully, I disagree. At least for me, personally, AC1 did not have fluid parkour starters. Typically the best way to get up to rooftops was by using ladders. Otherwise I would be using scaffoldings or just climbing up walls, which were quite long winded compared to how it got better from AC2 onwards.
Still, I'm not saying AC1's parkour was bad. Traversing high profile across rooftops was so much fun. Back during the Prince of Persia games, I was kinda hoping that Two Thrones would essentially be like AC1, rather than being linear.

Some of the smoothest parkour in the whole series. The third game (that came out in 2010) has some of the smoothest and most useable mechanics, which shows how little effort they put into their games. Origins is a close second for me in terms of smoothness and accuracy, tho. Imagine if they actually worked on the Unity animations and eventually made those animations this smooth and accurate. If only Ubisoft would actually put that much effort into their games and do what most of the fans seem to want.

@@Erraticfox I disagree tbh. It has the best animations by far, but they certainly don’t work perfectly. In fact, this is why they completely abandoned the system in the first place, to my knowledge. There were complaints about how awkward the animations are to use, although the idea is brilliant in itself, so they ended up stripping it back and simplifying it for Syndicate. My point was if they spent longer on Syndicate or Unity to begin with, maybe they could’ve spent some of that time perfecting the system and making it smoother. It’s still definitely my favourite parkour system in any game either way.

@@oscarjenkins7505They reused it in Syndicate. They abandoned it for the RPG trilogy.
The animations were smooth, the problem was with the snap-point. Unlike Arno, Ezio doesn't grab things unless you tell him to, that's why the animations are so smooth in the Ezio trilogy.
The problem with Unity is that they wanted to give the players too much freedom with it, putting too many animations in a too little period of time. Unity had a 2 years long developement, which, for a game that wants to be ahead of his time, is a third of the time it needed. That's why the story is cut in half, the character of Arno couldn't be further from what they wanted and the animations are so glitched

Mid level running was always the best route. Maybe not the fastest, but the best.

I love movement for those old AC games because it feels real but since AC 3 they call it "parkour" and, of course, looks super fluid but it's stupid, all that real feeling is over.

So hype that I acquired the first game cost-free for Ubi's dumbass comments about piracy and then proceeded to play not a single of the following 200 titles in the franchise

imo parkour in the AC games peaked with Unity before the series became a hack and slash rpg.

back in a day when i noticed this place i wondered why the F*** there are so many wood pillars in the walls? Ofc for a parkour but such places always gives me an aesthetic dissatisfaction

You know if you jump off of a horse and land on one of those beams you do a front flip onto the beam. The beam has to be above and infront of you

its crazy to think that a game more than 10 years old gets almost 300 k views in around 5 months. It shows how much we ac fans are starving for a quality ac creed again.
