@@AlaysiaMarea yes but colourless blender works better
White pencil still works but it creates a different effect. It lightens any colors you use so it'll blend great but only if you're blending for the purpose of getting a lighter finish.
Colorless blenders are pretty cheap. It also works better in distributing the pigment evenly. Great for burnishing and after you blend you'll have to add another layer.
You can also blend with a similar hue. Different methods achieve different things so it's good to have different tools at your disposal

My middle school art teacher would beg to differ. She made me HATE ART. She had me crying almost daily. She would literally tell me how horrible I was. I hated her. I’m now 34, and just now starting to get some confidence back.
Well, you remember the time when one dude got rejected at art school and take over almost entire Europe?

Oh sht your experince made me to recall my art school like I start my basic art in Elementary Chinese traditional drawing with my private tutor and that lacks the perspective ( it was only about far and close ) then I went to art school every son of beach just laughing at me says don’t draw that sht some sort of things.
And art class (usually together with P.E and music )in Chinese school are often been replaced by main subject(language, math, psychics, chemistry etc). Just one time out art teacher does not get sick( most common excuse for those main subjects took over these classes) and she was teaching Anime and Celluloid so she played spirit away on our class time and gave us a HW just draw an anime character.
And my father was like get pissed he just keep annoying me saying those “why are you wasting time go review the fucking main subjects” “it that has any use?” When I am 100% focuing on my interest.
And this sht is the one who send me to my private tutor by saying “writing or drawing pick one” just for his can acquire his vain glory before others faces. Then I get my interest on art again after things happend in art school so he give me this.

Burnishing to me is the easiest and smoothest! Layering often leaves a lot of white spots, colorless blenders don’t work as well with darker colors, solvent can damage paper, saturation and tonal burnishing are good unless you don’t want to change the colors and powder blenders to me are a little difficult. Everyone has their preferred methods tho!

This is definitely a video for people wanting to know how to blend coloured pencils, and even for those who are experienced and are reminded of the different techniques that can be used. I am 43 years old and I just started really getting into art last year. I've always wanted to do so much, but never had time to. I started learning to paint with acrylic paint and absolutely love it. However, I recently got a new set of colored pencils and have honestly never really used them before. I always used markers, especially alcohol markers. Thank you so much for this video my man!! I loved using the layering techniques. especially when I build up my colors to make some realistic effect, using solvent & colorless blender helped my artwork A LOT!

I don't know if it's just the colours you used but I think that burnishing one looks great. Have you done a video of how to draw what you actually see rather than what you think you see?
I have a few drawing tutorials about hands faces and anime, in those I explain that my drawing techniques are universal and I just apply the same method over and over again. but I may try to come up with a fresh drawing tutorial.
If the same colors were used for all the techniques, it would have been better to differentiate. Loved the tutorial though. Thank you.
If you take a look on the thumbnail instead, there you can see a better difference between the simply burnished and the others... It looks way more smooth in the video

Why is this channel so underated? I love this tutorial! Thank you! Maybe for your next video you can show an example for each technique on a drawing. Also how to color skin and hair with prismacolors specifcally basic skin colord to layer with and then advancing your drawings by adding blues, reds, greens and purples

Just learnt that there are names for things I already do when coloring...except the powdering one. I have not had the ability to do that yet. Can't wait to get some of that. I just got my set of polychromos earlier this year.
