I bought some coloring books and a set of color pencils today. I haven't been this excited about coloring since kindergarten lol. Thank you for sharing this video! It was super informative and helpful for beginners :)
I coloured so much as a kid! How is it going after 8 months? What pencils are you using?
Same here. Just getting started as well.
@@ysl6194 Hi, what supplies have you bought? What books? Do you have an art background or are you a complete beginner like me?
I love my prismacolor colored pencils. They are pricey but excellent.
@@foreva4eva385 I whole heartedly agree! The buttery feel when you put pencil to paper is an experience! I actually tried a school pencil the other day and I quickly tossed it aside. i couldn't stand the drag on the paper! The Prisma pencils enable the newest person to colouring to have success. I also have a 12 set of Faber Castel that I started with, and although they are nice, in my opinion, they just don't behave like the Prisma set. What are your favourite colouring books?
As a 49 yrs old man who needed a hobby so bad this just hit different. I can color and just zone out on music or a movie in the back ground. Ty for your vid.
I love to "listen" to my true crime shows when I'm coloring.
I’ll buy a coloring book, photocopy the page I want to color and save the book, pro tip!glad you kinda went over that!
My age 71yr old I look for a new hobby as I have stopped going to the gym months ago I have just bought my first colouring in book I was using my grandsons markers bleed through my first drawing even with a thick piece of paper on the other side I'm going to try pencils I'm still at the trial and error stage this video has been invaluable I haven't done colouring in since I was at primary school
Thank you so much! I'm a frustrated beginner and I've spent hours watching artists that are way beyond me. I learned more usable information from you than all the others. I like colored pencils and haven't invested in a set of alcohol markers, which I'm told bleed thru pages and over lines, and what I call expensive, is cheap in the marker department. And who wants to buy 2 books so you can do all of 1 book? I went to Amazon and am ordering stuff you recommended. Thanks bunches! 🌻
Hello and thanks so much for those kind words! Really appreciate it and glad some of the info I share is helpful to you! I am a big fan of starting small and working your way up to the investment pieces if you're enjoying coloring. Try the stuff you ordered and go from there. Good luck to you!
My tip is to copy the image from the coloring book you like and print it on a sheet of paper suitable for your drawing medium. That way I will always have the original and can paint it as often as I want and even in different styles and with different drawing mediums! And if you like alcohol markers and don't want to invest a fortune I would recommend Ohuhu. They have really great markers which some even compare to Copics and they are really cheap, starting from 50ct for these with chisel and bullet tip and 1$ for brush and bullet tip. They are so good and I love them!
I’m so excited!! Getting colored pencils and coloring books tomorrow!!!!
I can never find coloring books with pictures that aren't crazy busy and pattern-y. I don't understand why every type of subject matter needs to be completely covered in mandala or paisley or stained glass kinds of patterns?! I tend to like changing colors fairly often or else I end up getting bored quickly. I dont want to have to sit and fill in 5,000 tiny sections all in the same or a very similar color just to complete a piece of the picture.
When I was into adult coloring, I liked to use line reproductions of ancient bas-relief from all over the world. Try, for example, the ones from the remarkable Column of Trajan, still standing in modern Rome. Such images, I think, are much more interesting than the ones which you've referenced.
I love to color need to learn layering and blending
I'm so happy I found your videos! My husband is an artist. It just comes naturally to him. Me, not so much LOL! But one thing I do enjoy is coloring in these adult coloring books. I have about 50 of them, well over 1000 color pencils and markers and I still color like I am a beginner. (I've been coloring in these coloring books for at least 10 years) I wanted to go to the next level but didn't know how. Watching this video shows me that you are the missing link in getting my pages to pop! Thank you so much!
That Sarah, Renee Clark one is absolutely amazing. You could also get the colour catalogue that goes with it where she has all these swatches and then she tells you what pencil brand goes with it. She’s got prisma color, intense, and a couple more. So you bye the companion book and she does all the work for you, so you don’t even have to guess which colour is the closest. She does it all for you. She’s also adding more now that she’ll be sending out free to people. Who are you on the companion who
I'm 38 and just bought my first ever colouring book since before I can remember. Thank you for this great video to help me do it right, hopefully! :)
You speak so clearly that I don't need subtitles to watch your video.
thanks!
I've learned so many tips from you today. I'm new at coloring, and your techniques help me to become more organized. Thank you. My first project is making a color chart.
Hi, how's the colouring going? Any tips? What have you purchased? How have you organized? I have no artistic background, but would love to know how it's going. I have a couple of books and some crayola and one set of 12 faber chroma pencils. I love this tutorial. I haven't started yet because I was trying to find out how to start. This tutorial will finally get me started. Any other tutorials on this channel that you have found helpful? Thanks in advance.:)

The fisher blue clear round pencil sharpener that can be used for both pencil and crayon works great too.,I love using crayons in adult coloring books as well
I found some silicone brushes on wish used for 3D nail art, works great with gel pens
So I didn't have time to get a card for a friend before church and it was late. I remember I had bought a coloring book but never use. So I pick on of the pages colored it and wrote something encouraging and now I realized why adults like coloring. It was really relaxing and enjoyable. Now I'm looking into it. I'm a newbie.
Thank god I found you. I am just getting started good information for beginners thank you🙌🏽

Really informative, thank you!
Great video, I just started adult coloring when I received a Prismacolor 150 set as a gift. This video really helped! Thank you
I went to the color palette by Sarah Renae Clark website. OMG I ordered a coloring book and both volumes of the color palette book. This is going to help me so much. I was stressed about not knowing how to match colors and I wasn’t enjoying the coloring process. I bought a color wheel 👎🏽 it was of no use. For me this is a game changer. I clicked and I subscribed. Thanks again.
Thank you so much, great video.
Ty for sharing these awesome tips. A newbie to your channel. 👌💟
OH do I wish this had been around when I first started, would have saved me so much trouble. Way to go!!!!

Wow I hope one day I will be also good in coloring. Thank you for this tutorial.
Such wonderful information! Thank you!
Just saw this video today and reaching out to beginners to get tips and see how you are progressing. I have two books but mustering up the information and confidence to start. Are you still colouring? I have been Diamond painting for months and trying to learn cross stitch. I'm not great at crafts, but I loved colouring as a kid and when there were no computers and only a few channels on tv, my colouring books came in handy, lol. Thanks in advance .:)
Beautiful!
Thankyou, it was a very informative and beautiful video 🌸🤍
This makes me feel happy.
Love the video! This is where I find pdf coloring pages!
Wow you have a fantastic sketch book!
Very helpful information. Just bought my first color pencil Castle Art Gold and coloring books. I will be picking this up during my travels. I usually make cards but i can't take all my cardmaking items with me in the caravan.
Great video, it was very informative. I've been coloring for years but I still enjoyed the refresh and I love how soothing your voice is. You always make such professional well put together videos, what camera do you use for filming and what do you edit on?

Thank you sharing
Love your channel
Great video! For beginners who want to use soft wax pencils but need a more affordable option, I suggest Black Widow brand. I’m retired. Pencils get used up and you need to buy more so it can get expensive. I have a set of 36 Prismacolors.but actually prefer my Black Widows. They have 144 colors spread over 7 sets. My cheaper (graphite?) pencils don’t blend. My BWs blend like my expensive Prismacolors. For beginners, blending is a way to make pencil coloring look like it was made with markers. Blending forces the pigment down into the tooth of the paper making it darker, more vibrant, more solid and seamless.
Very helpful thanks
Wow,!!! Amazing!!! Very very beautiful !!!
Thanks for the good tips, being new to using colored pencils is hard to know what kinds are the best to get. I wish that i knew that Crayola had some good ones out before i went and brought the expensive ones first.
Most pleasing voice I ever heard
I just got a coloring book that is based on one of my favorite book series, and I’m terrified to mess it up😭 I’m terrible at coloring so this helped me a lot!
Thanks for this very informative video. I have tons of great coloring books and pencils I just haven’t been able to get my coloring groove. I look forward to watching your other videos and learning more. 💕 Hadassah
Glad it was helpful!

Glad it was helpful!
Omg your voice 😍😍😍 I just stumbled upon your channel, but my oh my... You NEED to do voiceovers, podcasts or audio books... If you haven't done it yet 😅
Thank you, Egle! I appreciate that. ❤️
Yeah! Exactly what I was about to say!
As someone who has been relying on the Audible App due to medications and complications, etc.I whole-heartedly agree! The narrator can make or break my enjoyment of a novel and your voice is calming and reassuring, thanks for your coloring tutorials!
Me too. Your voice is so soothing & calming.
I second this comment in 2021. New Subscriber.
