Former England manager Sir Bobby Robson died today. He was 76. Robson had been fighting cancer for a number of years. As a 56 years of age liverpool fan, I truly loved Bobby Robson. That Ipswich team of his was frightening. Brilliant attacking football. RIP to a true legend.

@@Jamie-kv9eg At Italy'90 the english media blow the team into superheros, everything was already won or so they said, when he lost on the penaltys against west germany, the media turned against him, called him a traitor and all sorts of low and dirt adjectives and he resigned from the national team.

Sir Bobby Robson was a true legend Ipswich Town manager.
A great manager but more importantly a great man .👌 World cup 1986 and world cup 1990 so close to greatness cheated in 86 and desperately unlucky in 90.

He loved us so much he turned us down countless times both as player and manager...short memories as usual with fans...where were he's much loved toon fans on the last game of the season against wolves when he could "only"manage 5th place...1000 fans stopped behind to applaud his team's end of season lap of honour....other 50,000 walked out in discussed ....4 games later sacked....toon fans showed him the same loyalty he showed us when we really needed him when we were a shambles of a club until the real legends arrived in hall/Keegan..

Tavy@ i just rememberd sir alex ferguson won the world club cup twice to be the greatest team in the world and won 4 leauge cups and won the english leauge 13 times. Plus 2 european cups back to back And at least 8 FA cups. Just AMAZING. AMAZING

Tavy@ its bizzare how the greatest mangagers in the world were use less as players. Thats strange. Like sir alex ferguson lasted 2 years at rangers then they got rid of him. Then the master big jock stein at 6ft2 he played with celtic but was just a big stopper, a big bull that let you know you had been hurt. As he was a centre half. But in 1964,65 celtic were a bad team and going nowhere till big jock got the job. Then some how he manged to win the leauge then the european cup in 2 years. Maybe 2 and a half years. But come on how did he manage to pull that off when europe had so many great teams at that time and he brought the european cup back to glasgow and britain for the first time. Then matt busby won it the next year with man utd and busby wasnt a great player either. But am sorry but bobby robson who wasnt a great player either doesnt rank along side those managers i namend. Bobby was a trieyer and God loves a trieyer but he just doesnt cut it in the way those legends did. A mean they were winning endless trebles, 9 in a row. Sir alex the same except he didnt win 9 in a row but he must of won at least 12 leauge titles then the FA cups and twice won the european cup and the cup winners cup. Sir alex is the greatest manager ever in football.
