It was 3rd meets 1st when Newcastle hosted Arsenal in February 2003. Laurent Robert scored an equaliser after Thierry Henry put Arsenal ahead but it was Robert's red card that had Sir Bobby Robson seething at full-time as he felt the Magpies were robbed of a victory.

Any other Sir Bobby Robson moments you want to see?
Newcastle getting into the UCL
Any moment from him is lovely, true gent.
Is their an interview after he won the cup with Ipswich
@@itfcprime4587 Sadly it doesn't fall under our rights
He had a passionate meltdown after losing away against Charlton in 2000/2001. Could you dig that one out?
Even when Sir Bobby was clearly angry, he's an articulate gentleman who won't go into any hyperbole just to make his point, just stoically defending his team. Dearly missed
Bang on
He's our footballing father and/or grandfather, the game misses him dearly.
@@kevanbrown7620 If i remember correctly, game one was a close loss to Chelsea via a Lebouef pen. Second game was the 8-0 victory over Sheff Wed.
He also makes it a point of emphasis that he isn't trying to criticise the refs integrity, overall performance or ability despite disagreeing with that decision, which again is class.
The 1986 World Cup was the first World Cup I watched. I can still remember thinking what a great manager he was as a 7 year old. Agree with Phil L-B, he carried himself with such class and humility, he’s easily up there with the great managers of the last 40 years but what makes him unique is that he was a true gentleman, a class of manager we probably won’t see again.
What an absolute gent, never heard one bad word said again him
He was a legend, we need more of him
This interviewer is lucky Bobby was so nice. Most managers would have lost their shit with the way he asked those questions and interrupted
My aunty saw him when she lived in Newcastle apparently he was rude and ignorant to her
@@shanebrown1544 ah I'm surprised, I've only heard bad stories about Shearer
My cousin said he met Shane Brown whilst waiting to be seated at Nando’s and he was rude and ignorant to him.
To this day it still makes me sick how the tabloid press insulted him during his last year's as England manager. And those same vile institutions eulogised about him after he passed away. I despise them for it.
I agree with you 1000%. Taylor, another gentleman that they mocked and vilified.
They really are a bunch of C U Next Tuesdays.
Could not agree more heaven is a better place with Sir Bobby there
Grow up
@@noblemann4898 a lot of the England fans not just the media wanted him gone as England manager aswell
A man of pure and complete class. A man of real integrity. We could do with more Bobby Robsons in society, let alone football.
Bobby Robson is the only manager with 0 haters.
I hate him
@@George-gg4pb well that's a pretty pointless point you've made
@@George-gg4pb you are a sad little virgin
Well there's the 80s British media...they slandered him any chance they'd get...but yeah the fans always respected him for the great manager and the great man he was
The media hated him for years and treated him like dirt.
When Newcastle was a football team
Still are, mate. We've got wor own uniforms and everything!
Couldn't agree more. Sir Bobby was a great manager. He's really missed.
Now they will be
Beat Woolwich tomorrow.
Haha
Wow what an absolute gentleman. I'm only 23 so I was a kid when Sir Bobby was around but this man's class is just oozing through my monitor, really commanding figure. Rest in peace.
Sir Bobby is the one manager I think everyone would have wanted to manage their club at one time
I'm lucky enough to say that my club was altho I was not yet born
The way he got Newcastle back to being title contenders was a miracle. It showed that he was bigger than Newcastle when he was sacked. They went downhill again from then.
@@chrisrowe7503 no one is bigger than the club you deluded sky 6 casual
@@muchiosgracias4 Have Newcastle been in the top 4 since Bobby Robson? No. I rest my case.
@@chrisrowe7503 you definitely chose a team who wins that you have no connection to 😂😂 you didnt even deny you're a plastic. Who cares about top 4 and trophies you insecure little boy
I am Portuguese and a Benfica´s fan, altought this man managed our two main rival clubs,I have nothing but respect for Sir Bobby.
A credit to not only our club but country too, only one Sir Bobby Robson!
My god he was a proper manager. So dearly missed not only by us toon fans but any football fan with half a clue, what a man. R.I.P Sir Bobby x
Kevin Keegan the same
Sir Bobby Robson a true Legend dearly missed RIP 💗⚫⚪
The last great English manager.
He, Paisley and Clough were the three greatest English managers
@@rohithraman6488 Howard Kendall?
Sacking Bobby Robson has got to be the biggest mistake in premier league history
Newcastle been going down hill ever since
I never went again after they sacked him. That was me finished with NUFC and professional football altogether.
sacked after a season finishing 5th, and they've only ever finished that high up the league once since then.
@@TDM1165 i know they were on a bad run at start of season Robson was sacked, but still think he could have turned them around to at least get them on course for a decent season. Didn't happen though.
And I'm not having a pop at Newcastle fans here, more the Newcastle ownership at the time.
Im not one of those people who think 'aw newcastle fans are stupid and think they're on par with liverpool and man utd'. Considering its best part of 50 years since Newcastle last won a big trophy and of Newcastle fans i've spoken too most are very realistic of where they're at, and right now fully understand they want better than what they've been getting under Mike Ashley's ownership. Considering all they have gone through since 2007, what's wrong with wanting better there?
@@TDM1165 aye Shephard could be brutal with managers and not renowned for patience, but he was prepared to invest in the squad and was ambitious. With Ashley I've seen neither of the latter, and sadly it seems like they need Ashley to suffer a heart attack or something before he finally buggers off.
Steve Bruce has done ok to be fair, but from a manager of Benitez's calibre to Steve Bruce is a super low bar, and with the size of the club and the fanbase I'd say regular top 10, pushing for European football and a good cup run now and then shouldn't be unrealistic ambitions for Newcastle fans to want.
Sir Bobby Robson- The Sir was well Deserved , What a Gent he was
I miss this man. Brilliant manager. So passionate. A great personality in football
The man was, is and will always be, a model professional. We wont see his like again. Top Englishman.
RIP Sir Bobby. God bless
If this was now he'd be fined and forced to sit in the stands for 5 games for having an opinion. How football has changed
I laughed and then realised it's true he'd be giving instructions via walky talky for questioning the referee.
@@jamesdixon6903 yeah its fucking stupid. Referees can't take a bit of criticism even when they make incorrect decisions.
Have you got Sir Bobby’s post match rant for the Charlton 2-0 Newcastle (11th Feb 2001), that was a classic Bobby interview!
We'll add it to our list
Sky Sports Retro thanks! 👍🏻
Was that the rant when he said he felt sorry for the Newcastle fans who paid good money to come to the game only to see a dismal performance?
@@rohithraman6488 yes mate that’s the one! I’ve been asking skysportsretro for 6 months to upload it even though they said they would put it on their list, I must have put the same comment on at least 10 or 11 videos hoping they will see it, also I asked them on Twitter but got no response. It’s such a great interview, I just desperately want to watch it haha!
@@jonathanward7320 I watched it on Premiership years that's the only way I remember it, cause I wasn't born then
0:38 *Greatest law is common sense and I think the referee lacks a little bit of that*
It's 2020, and that has not changed one bit. Tbf, referees lost more than a little bit of common sense now
One comes to mind. Mike Dean. Worst ref in the world
common sense now is dive and penalty given tho
Gone down a rabbit hole today.....I bloody love you Bobby! Thank you for everything 🖤🤍
I'm a United fan but didn't matter what team you supported everyone loved Bobby, an English Gent and last of his kind - Newcastle were lucky to have him.
Big love for Sir Bobby from an Albion fan. Highly recommend ‘The Saturday Men’ for those wanting to see his playing days!
An absolute gentleman and a great miss to the game. KK and Sir Bobby..our greatest managers
passion man, what a bloke youd do anything to win for this man!
Loved Robert! Scored some absolute blockbusters in his time!
Look and listen to this legend and his response. Full of passion and honesty towards his team. Forever missed x sir Bobby
Passion and love of his team in his voice.... You can feel it
What a legend
I remember the look he gave Dennis when he was substituted . . . 👀👀👀. Arsene, Dennis and Bobby. Elites.
Everybody knows what a gentleman Bobby was but he often doesn't get credit for what a genius of a game he was too. When you listen to him explaining each player's role and why he picked them it made perfect sense and it worked so well. Sir Bobby was the main reason I got into first supporting Newcastle United and we haven't anybody with the same aura or charisma since and it's something that has deeply disappointed me. Nobody will ever come close to him in my lifetime is what I genuinely believe.
Not even with Rafa Benitez?
@@Urlocallordandsavior not even him
How do you feel about Eddie Howe?
@@NUFCOfficial closest thing we’ve had since the great man. Still put bobby above him though but don’t know if it that’s cos of a combination of nostalgia and love for the guy
Dearly missed. Legendary manager and even more legendary man.
I can't believe that when I was a kid we had guys of this era managing PL teams. This is such a throw back. Thank you sky sports.
Proud to have a signed shirt of this man! 🖤🤍🖤 Farewell but not goodbye.❤
*SNAP* He signed my England shirt for me in 2005. Its framed and on my wall now!
How we have fallen! It was an absolute privilege going to games with that man in the hot seat!
God I miss this man!!
absolute legend of a man from an arsenal fan
It was so amazing going to games with Sir Bobby at the helm, maybe even more so than with Keegan. Nowadays, I won’t go back until Ashley leaves
Completely agree.. the shite we’re served now 🙄. The cloud is a shambles and it all started the day Bobby was wrongfully sacked.
Miss this guy - such incredible passion he had for the game.
To think we used to have this guy in the dug out with Shearer on the pitch. How newcastle have fallen :(
Yeah but at least Steve Bruce > Rafa Benitez
@@AverageAtBestHDTB lol you're right
@@andresihotang2314 how wrong you mean they doomed for relegation sad state to see newcastle like this their fans never deserved any of this

An absolute gentlemen. A hero to many an enemy to absolutely no one. Dearly missed. A national treasure.
What a truly wonderful man
Class guy. Would work better if the footage of thew game was linked to or shown.
At 2:15, you could have asked Bobby what he thought about cute kittens, & he'd still be pissed off at the last question. Interviewer was highly unprofessional by giving, A; His own opinion. And, B; Putting his hands on Bobby.
What a wonderful man. We were graced to have him at NUFC
