Alright guys, a few weeks ago, Melvin (owner, Way2Speed), contacted me and asked if I would like to review his new air filter for the Royal Enfield twins. I am always excited to test out new products, and immediately said yes.
In this video, I talk about air filters in general and the need for a performance air filter, based on my understanding, and a couple of points about the advantages of the Way2Speed air filter. Naturally, I could not have read out all the pointers about the Way2Speed filter, so will leave all the details that Melvin provided me here:
Way2Speed Magna flow Nano Fiber air filter
* Nanofiber filter media provides 99.99% filtration efficiency and faster access; that ensures best engine protection and air access for combustion
* Nandanam Fiber filter provides 3X more engine protection vs. conventional cotton filters; Reduces quantifiable reduction in wear and tear cause by dirt
* Long service intervals and pre oiling not required
* State of the art construction enhanced with nanofiber media; and stronger abs plastic and metal reinforced for much longer life and durability compared to the competition
* Doesn’t clog like conventional performance filter since oil is not used to capture dirt
* Nano Fiber filter’s Advanced pleat geometry, spacing and Reinforcement makes it easy to service and practically cost nothing
* Increased air flow with advanced micron level filtration increases the air flow upto 65 cfm
* Instant difference in performance from the first ride
* Easy to install , can be washed or air pressure cleaned
* Available with stage two snorkel eliminators
* Can be coupled with Way2Speed fuel booster plug & play kit
And a few pointers by Melvin from my conversation with him:
*We are the only company which uses nano Fiber which is far more sophisticated than cotton element
*Our air filter should be cleaned between 3,500-5,000 km. That’s standard protocol for any filter application pertaining to internal combustion engines for better efficiency. Our filter doesn’t need oiling to hold dust because it filters at nano level since it’s a nano filter media. Mild pressurised air blow throw or wash with gentle liquid detergent can be done
*And since we use abs plastic and multiple levels of metal mesh to maintain the structural integrity air cleaning won’t affect the structure of the filter media
*Our filters can last a life time, but we suggest change every 65-75k km based on the area they live
I hope you found this video useful.
Thank you so much for giving me your time. I hope you have a great day.

My dad is a petrolhead too , we were watching this vid together and he said ( yahi sab dekh kr tmhara dimag khrab hota hai ) since i have a K&N installed. But he really likes your content too , i discovered it in your thar vid as he said he is a no nonsense content guy.. these contents that you make really suits our taste and gives us more things to talk about, keep it up big brother ❤️
Thank you.
I have been using way2speeds vibration reduction plates for 500 uce engine for last 2 years and I love it....it does what the name stands for and more over you pay half a cost of what carberry charges you!! Melvin was so supportive that when I told him about my concerns with it being low cost si there might be a catch and he personally called me and explained how it works and why it is cheap... Here what I like is customer support plus the quality of the product (guy was so confident he even said he will pay me back if the plates don't work)
From vibration reduction plates to tubeless tire conversation to air filter... Kudos to the way2speed team!
Never did I expect to learn so much about the technicalities about a bike in such detail. Hats off Abhinav, your content is just really really good! ❤️
Aye yenno , Varunsha.
Thank you.
Really man you are one of the best when it comes to the explanation of technical parts of bikes❤️
Thank you.
Knowledge is power. You personify that Abhinav. Keep it up man!
Thank you.
This is not knowledge he just read it. He must be sponsored.
Wow noice 🔥
This video educated me about air filters 😀
Wow. Detailed and great explanation brother.
I liked the mods you did on R3. This interceptor mod is awesome ❤️👌👌👌
Thanks
Should we make the mixture more lean after installing the performance air filter. What impact would it have in either case lean/heavy?
Sir I was planning to buy this product, I will wait for your review and then buy it. Thanks alot for covering it.
TIP: After changing the air filter and when you start the bike, i would suggest that you keep your bike in idle (do not rev) for few minutes ; let the ecu adjust itself if needed
Yeah. Adaptation. I just revved a little for the sake of the video. Usually, takes about 12 minutes of idling to adapt. At least in Triumphs.
Best R15 v3 air filter video
I ordered one just now Abhinav. Melwin is a cool guy. Thank you.
Most welcome.
Very informative video...as usual 😊
I want to install this air filter but I have a stock exhaust on my Interceptor so is good to go for this or have to change both (air filter and exhaust) at the same time. Please suggest 🙏
I just love ur videos. U made me want to buy this bike!!!
Thanks
Most avaited video, educational video abhi Your Bike looks littt 😎
You should Explain all the mods in a video.
@abhinav - If you ever open up an institute to teach about motorbikes....I am enrolling in the first batch !
Superb content 👏🏼
It would be really helpful if you make a video on the booster plug by way2speed
YAS!!
Waiting for Xpulse rear tail light console modified as I want to change my Xpulse Rear Tail Console to that what you have installed so looking forward for that one!
Next video.
@@abhinavbhatt Thank You!
U r the best sir 🙏❤️
Love from assam ❤️
And here I was almost beginning to think you had sold the Interceptor.
Looking forward to the update on this.
I won't sell this bike.
If u put the stage 2 intake covers on himalayn whn we wash it it does not enter does this filter require remap, milage will increase?
Hi Abhinav, love your videos, If I add high performance air filter on my Int with stock exhaust will it have any negative impact?? I want to upgrade exhaust also but worried about cops, here not just put fine sometimes they will only remove the exhaust and all, full drama happens around that. So just curious about running performance airfilter with stock exhaust.
Waiting for tat Moment Abhinav Bhai Reaching 100K Subscribers 😍💯
Thank you, but these numbers really don't mean anything to me.
I tired this filter along with NGK Plugs and most importantly you need the NGK kit, boy does the Interceptor open...Smooth acceleration...fun to ride...puts a smile in the face :) Good job Melvin.
Bro have you modified the exhaust?
@@janaharajanrajan4652 nope, i like the original exhausts, looks best and no cop trouble:)
@@easyier thank you bro
Which front mudguard is that?
Any buy link?
Hello bro I’m confused bw k and n or way to plz tell me which one to buy
Is it avaibale for himalayn and is there any milage increase and does it need tuning
Interesting that you say you haven't had any issues. When my bike came back from the service centre and they water washed it despite my persistence not to do so, I found water within the air box. This I'm pretty sure is due to the stage 2 open plate. Having cleaned that up, within the next 500kms, when I just randomly checked the air box again, I found fine dust within. Now I'm really questioning the science behind this. Don't want to harm the engine for the sake of something supposedly advanced theoretically, but practically not correlating to that.
Love your videos. Where did you get the side panels from?
Hello Abhinav, the audio sounds very good did you use a ASMR MIC?
To save money dremmel the stock filter cover plate to an open mouth cover. Also the ECU's by law (uk anyway) has to be a "Learning ECU" so owners had choice of filters and exhausts. Great Bike Man
Actually, the snorkel part of the stock filter cover is easy to undo with just a little bit of force.
@@abhinavbhatt sorry you mis understand. Instead of buying a new retaining plate , open up the existing one. I use a dna and adapted the stock retaining plate . After all , all it does is hold the filter in place.
Haha. I meant exactly that. Maybe I did not convey it simply too.
@@abhinavbhatt I just realised it was my mistake and came back to correct myself
Cheers
Please do a walk around video of your interceptor
What are changes u have done on ur interceptor
Hey Abhinav , what cosmetic mods have you done this motorcycle
Hi your bike looks great, can you please tell me how did you installed the big size tyre in your interceptor and which rim you have used. Do you have a detailed video about the installation?
These are imported aluminium rims. Rear is 4.25x17. I had to cut the chain protector to make space for the tyre.
HI @abhinav can you please post a long term review for the way2speed air filter review for your interceptor. That would be really helpful and much appreciated as there aren't any long term users review. Thank you
If u put 2 stage covers wht abt water entering to it while washing in hiamalyn
Bro i am too using this same air filter can explain me how to clean it properly without damaging it
Thanks for such knowledgable vlog
Why companies are not making such performance parts for RE 350 ENGINE as we all known they hold a strong share in motorcycle markets.
Not sure.
@vivek Singh K & N air filter is there for RE 350
@@rohan0588 that is a replica of K&N filter. Because k&n official website is selling airfilter for 500cc model but when I search on amazon or other sites they have k&n airfilters for 350cc.

"slightly" is an understatement
Haha
Hey Abhinav were you able to make the ABS work on your bike? Have you given any thought about how to make it work?
No man. I did not even try. I removed the ABS motor and made it direct lines.
Hi Abhinav, great informative video. Any long term review on this AirFilter ?
Keenly waiting for your response.
Thanks in advance.
Is it okay for me to install this air filter paired with just the rrp mufflers without an ECU remap?
Should be okay. But ideally, run either a Powertronic or a remap
Nice set-up.
Thanks
Hi abinav
Currently using R15 2008 year model
Planning to upgrade After ten months
Interceptor was in top of the list
How you rate interceptor forr touring in country side roads ? And what is your opinion on Himalayan ?
Interceptor has good power for touring but needs a better seat. Himalayan is amazing, but needs more power.
Why did you remove DNA filter? It can be cleaned, soaked and used again. And so on ...
how much it cost you for diablo side cover?
Can i know which handle bar u installed
11:09
yes, slightly custom. 😉
hahahahah
What about your r15v3 project..?
Sri recently upgraded to the stage 2 plate too and a K&N air filter. Did he suggest you the plate by any chance?
Also, would love to see him back in some of your videos!
No. I have been using a Stage 2 plate for over a year now.

Give a update on the usd suspensions setup
Will powertronic ecu + performance air filter with stock exhaust be a problem?
Don't need a free flow air filter with the stock exhaust.
Did a jugaad instead of the stage 2 plate with bmc AF, bike was quicker & better but i could feel the bike guzzling more fuel loosing quite a bit mileage... whts ur take on this ??
I can't be certain about how much fuel economy drop because I also run a tuner. I don't think the fuel economy will drop much though.
really great explanation . i just want to know about the diablo brand . Can you make a separate video about them and their product , hoe good they are ? how can I order them . what will be their shipping cost and all . if you can help me with this that would be great . thanks.
Hi. I don't know about shipping etc. These were bought from Bangkok and hand carried to India.
At what cost?
Abhinav bhaiya suggest between interceptor 650 , Himalayan bs 6 or honda highness usage - 80 percent touring
Whichever that suits you. All three have their own strengths. Himalayan - can tackle bad roads and good ergos; Honda is very comfortable and smooth; Interceptor is powerful but seat bad.
Hey Abhinav, I recently installed AEW exhaust on my bike.. just have some doubts regarding airfilter. Is it necessary to change the stock filter to aftermarket airfilter ? Also, does aftermarket airfilter damage the engine or give any issues in future ??
No need to change. I've not had any long term issues ever with any aftermarket air filter.
@@abhinavbhatt cool... Thanks brother 👍

Hey hi abi
I like to buy royal Enfield continental gt 650 twin ... But I like put upside down folk ..like your bike ... How much for cost ... I m from tamilnadu .. can you help me for modified
Can you please tell me where did you find that side panel.
I'm searching for it for a long time..
Bought it in Thailand.
Abhinav, good video
But i have a question
I have red rooster slip ons installed and i have way2speed air filter
But i am experiencing miss fire after 6k RPM
Would this be because of the air filter or its something related to fueling?
Get a Powertronic and fix the fuelling. With the filter and exhaust the bike runs lean.
Thanks for the reply!
Fix the fuelling as in the sense should i get the fuel pump changed? because I've already changed cleaned the throttle body and ignition coil. Currently i cannot go for the powertronic ecu due to budget
So can i install the stock air filter so that i can get rid of the miss fires?
@adarshpurohit3849 no no. The Powertronic will run a custom map for your setup. That is enough.

We exchanged notes when we were building our bikes. He is a good friend.
Hi, thanks for the info. May I know about the engine covers in black as well as the filter cover. I mean where can I buy it?
I got them powdercoated at a friend's friend's powdercoating factory as a big favour. They won't do it again. Got the side panels from Thailand.
@@abhinavbhatt thanks. one more question the power coating does it keep up with engine warmth?
Yes.
Hi Abhinav, was looking at aftermarket Exausts ... was thinking between aew 102 and ss 2x2 ... ss 2x2 claims it increases the power by 4 bhp ... what are ur thoughts in the matter
I use SS Motor and fully trust his products. AEW is good too. I have used them in the past. You need to decide what exactly do you want - slip ons or full system. If full system, then eyes shut, go for SS Moto.
@@abhinavbhatt thanks .. just bought the bike 2 weeks back .. was back on the saddle after 23 years ... was a pain in the butt literally... but a. Is it dyno tested for performance boost and air filteration quality?
