Yup. I had a dog like this for 15 years. I loved him so hard even with his idiosyncrasies. He got me thru my 20's and 30's. My husband knew my feelings for Teddy so on our first date he brought Teddy a doggy cupcake from a dog bakery. We are still together with Patty our 14 year old dog. ❤😊

I have a 15 year old Cairn terrier named Ginger, who also suffers with seizures. She was fine for her first 7 years of life. Then one day out of nowhere she had her first seizure. But she has lived a great life regardless , so don't let anyone tell you to put your dog down if they turn out to be an epileptic. And btw.. The little dog in this video is SOOO friggin cute!! 😍
Thank God for people like you who don't give up on their dogs when they're not as healthy as they used to be. What a wonderful age Ginger's reached. Thank you for sharing your story 🥰

Awe 😍 that's so sweet. Thank you. She definitely gets the pampered treatment lol. I also have a 10 yr old Chihuahua mix and 1 yr old Great Pyrenees and she keeps up with them all day long lol. ❤
Oh my gosh, I found my ❤ dog at 23yo, I had only been working about 1 yr (after college). I volunteered at Houston humane bc I was still broke & didn’t think I could afford a dog, and I found my mini poodle, Angel. We were 2 peas in a pod. It was just us 2 for 9 months. She lived in 4 places w me, was w me when I was single then married, moved towns. My husband and I got married on same date I adopted her. She was the flower dog❤. We had just over 10 yrs together. She passed in 2015 & I still miss her so much. She overcame so much in her life. In 2009 she became a Tripawd, needed surgical repair of the other hip, lost a lot of skin on her torso. And before that she came from a puppy mill. I really miss her. She had such spirit.

Devoting time and effort to an animal with special needs is tough work and can be quite worrying and stressful but extremely rewarding. Shes an amazing person for devoting her time and resources to this dog and making sure he has everything he needs to live a happy and healthy life.
I adopted a dog the day i turned 20... Had to bring her to the animal hospital thursday, on my 35 birthday... she died sunday. It was so painful. She was my best pal. I see and hear her everywhere...
And that memory remains with you forever 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤

I had a wonderful cuddly "street dog" dumped into our property when she was a puppy. We loved her to bits. She was healthy for over 9 years, then one night she had a Gran Mal Seizure, was prescribed anti seizure medications by her Vet, but quickly went blind and became demented, finally dying after only 4 months. It was a very sad time for us, and we miss her friendly face all the time.
A few weeks ago, an abandoned Tortoise-shell kitten, rejected by her mother cried all day in our neighbours yard. Thais don't like such colouration in cats, and the neighbour was quite happy for us to foster her, bottle feeding her every 3 hours or so. She's putting on weight and getting quite feisty now after 3 weeks. We expect our house to be lively with her scampering around soon, terrifying out elderly dog and 2 old cats. Nature always surprises us with leftovers ❤

I definitely related to this, I got my first "dog" (as in not family but full responsibility mine) at 21 and it was an experience I wish most young adults should try, they bring so much joy and fun. Sadly my old man passed away recently at the age of 17 but man I love every bit.
Shes gonna be great in a relationship, shes not simply giving up and keep hustle with the struggle. I like her personality.

Oh im 34 now and I got my 9 year old boy. He has been through break ups, moving loads of times, sickness, weightloss and has been my one constant. He is my heart.

Simon reminds me of my Chihuahua girl I had for 16 years. She was never epileptic, but she was a puppy mill dog. I fell in love with her at first sight. She had a humpy back, crooked front legs, but neither bothered her. She was not only smart as a whip, had a beautiful temperament, but she also saved my life several times. Her existence was a benefit. She’s buried next to her cat brother who helped raise her. My girl and I were bonded so much that I just can’t bond with another dog though I’ve tried. You always know the right dog for you as you do when you first meet your next cat. They’re all special. You get not what you want but what you need. She needed Simon. I hope they both have a long and happy relationship.

I've been following Simon since she started his account. My favorite thing about him is that you can genuinely tell how much he loves his mom. There will be videos where Simon will take a break from his neighborhood watch duties just to make sure that she's okay. I just wish I could meet him and give him some love in person instead of being on the internet on another coastline.
This made me tear up as I also have a dog that I adopted in my early 20s. We've been through so many things together, my studies, different countries and big life events! I couldn't wish for a better companion to navigate through life!

It's for this very reason that I've never gotten another dog. If my best friend required more care (and money) than I could provide, I could never take the "easy" way out.
I was lucky with my first dog. I wasn't looking for one. I was caring for a friend's 6 month old border collie, and he adopted me, so I had him for life.
Like in the video, getting a dog in your early 20s is wonderful, but unfortunately, you inevitably lose them (hopefully not before) your late 30s. Life is definitely better with a dog. 🐕

I completely understand the struggles of having to overcome seizures where dogs are concerned I have one who he only had one thank God and it was when he was coming out from under anesthesia his grandmother on the other hand died having a grand mal seizure

I’m happy some people find the dog or the dog find their human. I always gets angry when I’m reminded how short life for a dog is . I wish we have more time to cherish them in every moment in sickness or health.

My first two dogs had epilepsy like Simon. Same story…lots of early vet visits. But once we had a drug and exercise routine down it was great.

I got my first dog when I was 18 and she accompanied me through graduating school, uni time, losing my dad, my first real jobs and meeting my husband. She passed away last year and I miss her terribly. I have adopted two wonderful new dogs, but what I had with her was really special.
