A good friend of mine died on this very stretch of the Hana Hwy in Kanaio riding his motorcycle without safety gear though he was riding at night. If he was wearing safety gear he could be alive today. Several sections of this hwy especially between Ulupalakua and Kaupo have no guard rails so not difficult for the inattentive or unfamiliar to go off the road. Please be careful.
