Matchbox Willy's Gasser Project. Welcome back to Diecast Resurrection, in today's video I do a restoration on a crusty Matchbox Willy's Coupe from the 80's. Paint looks lovely, I think 99% of us would be over the moon with your results.
I've found a great tool to get rid of casting marks, a sanding disc attachment for my Dremel, about 25mm discs - worth a try, it's really helped me!

As usual , another total success. A few bubbles here and there are no problem because the lines of that car are so, so sweet. I'm really looking forward to T-Bucket. That is absolutely my favorite looking car......well, that and a 40 Willys. Super great job!!!!!!

For decal bubbles, make a very small pin prick in the bubble. Use a brush to press out the liquid or air underneath.

When I was younger my dad drove a gas truck for Texaco and I remember him picking me up from school and going with him while he was working. I also collected those Texaco plane and vehicle banks and this looks like it would fit in perfectly with those cars. Great job!

As usual great job! Sparkle paint looks terrific too. Maybe I would have painted the outlined square on the roof black. I think they were cloth or leather back in the day. Canvas even. Side pipes were a nice touch.
Awesome looking, the roof insert would been cool black. Definitely out the ball par from what you started with.
Food for thought, the next one you do "streety", it might be cool to cut out the sunroof, with maybe a folded cloth to replace the metal.

I've been known to be "Face Down & Ass Up" on a few occasions. Willys still looks great even with the microscopic bubbles.

That was one of my first matchbox cars I ever had, can't remember the name of the casting been looking for one for a while now
nicely done, and the decal stuff looks good too. though I guess outside of the video the bubbles you mentioned are more obvious. also, good choice of wheels. :) the one it came with would look better on the next gas lands project. XD

Did anyone else notice the front wheels are hotwheels razors? Explains the mangled front end on the chassis.
