Has your team had a player that DEMANDED a trade?
Kevin Hayes, Chicago Blackhawks
Yes
FJC
You should do a video on the past decade all star MVPs!!! Also You’re one of the very few channels that response to comments. It’s why I keep coming back
My team has had a player who demanded a trade
Your videos are getting so much better. One of the best Hockey youtubers out there. Nice job!
Thanks my dude! Much appreciated
Just found his vids today and couldn't agree more
I hate when people try to declare a winner and a loser immediately after every trade. Some trades it's obvious who got the better of the deal, but most need a year or more to see who benefitted more. Not to mention some trades are made for non hockey reasons, such as cap space
Looks like CBJ won the trade. Roslovic is putting up PPG and he's been winning faceoffs too.
Laine has been getting better defensively and has still been offensively talented as well.
Dubois already got scratched and has no points.
why is everyone talking about that PLD like its the worst thing they've ever seen? looks just like a regular night for EK65
If the guy said stuff about his mom I don’t blame Lindros for avoiding that situation that’s personal. And obviously there was merit to the claims.
if someone treated my mom like that I wouldn't play for a million a game
@@Nick-yh6of neither would I buddy
As a Habs fan, while I do think the Lightning won the trade, I also feel so bad for Drouin. Especially after the fanbase seemed to have broken him mentally.
Which is why I hate being part of a super toxic fanbase sometimes.
"Montreal, so far, is looking fantastic!" Had to double check the date on the video 😂
Holy crap! A hockey story from before the 2000's!! Finally!
The Gordon Ramsey of Hockey LMAO DEAD
Yea that's rich.
Totally accurate too lol.
Nah at least Ramsey is good at his profession
Went from lamb sauce to sauce pass real quick.
The thing with Torts is that you need a lot mental strength to ignore the bad side of the yelling and get the ups of it. His coaching style makes or brakes a players ability to play at his best.
The Gordon Ramsey of hockey 😂. Idk why I never thought of that comparison
This channel is so wholesome thank you
Love your channel. Not enough hockey channels out there and you are doing an amazing job.
One thing I’ve noticed with rob is that these videos are so much better then they were 5-7 months ago. Editing is great and the sense of humour is wonderful. Great job rob! 👍🏻
Your videos seem to get better and better everytime you make a new one. Keep at it dude! Love your videos man!
a banger as usual keep it up rob you're growing so fast i was there since 7k subs !! #roadto100k
Love both players, Drouin and Sergachev. Wish them both healthy and long careers. Both play exciting hockey, and Drouin in the playoffs for lightning was spectacular. I give edge to Sergachev as he is a stud on defense for Tampa.
Been supporting for 8 months love the content.
Drouin has been playing great so far this season. Him and Suzuki make a good fit. I hope he stays consistent.
I still think Marc Bergevin should be fired as Habs GM. His ego is too inflated for our team. I cannot reasonably expect long term success with him steering the ship towards disaster.
@@stephentyler4352 Either you are being sarcastic or you are somehow completely blind to the roster he has put together
@@stephentyler4352 bro what the fuck are you on
@@joshuanoel7686 Bergevin has been the GM of the Habs for more than just this season. Yes the Habs have a competitive team on the ice THIS year. I am basing my judgement of our GM on beyond the right here and right now.
All u guys said that trade was horrible
love the content man, keep it up
BOLD PREDICTION: _After another year of struggles, Sergei Bobrovsky will request a trade from the Panthers and refuses to report to Florida, resulting in a suspension from the team. After failing to find a team who was willing to take on his contract, the Panthers terminate his contract (mutual termination, not a buyout) and Bobrovsky heads back to Russia. After a few more years of struggles in Russia, he retires for good_
Dumb
No
Well I do think if he gets bought out he'll go back to Russia. I'm pretty sure he said he doesn't wanna play anywhere but Florida.
@@NHLElite1429 he would be a star in Russia r u serious that league has some players with nhl talent but they also recruit Jr. Players that literally have no pro interest... they recruit 4th line college players and they make there teams... the league has players that would be shit in the echl and players who'd be good in the nhl
oh yeah I'd be totally pissed off not paying taxes on that kind of contract to play in +20 all winter
For a second I thought that you said "Have you ever had a player that refused to play for your (rec league) team?" and I was thinking... have I? Who would sign up and pay for Rec League and then refuse to play?!? lol. Then I figured it out... not MY team, but my team... haha. Enjoyed the video :)
You had me at "The Gordon Ramsay of hockey"! 😅😅😅
Sergei Samsonov, Habs 2006-2007. All his stats dropped dramatically that year. The guy would litterally skate in circles, alone, during the games. Habs fans hated him for it.
I don't think Torts is the reason why Dubois wanted out of Columbus. He bought property here in Columbus back in August after the Torts screaming event. Something is off about this situation and Dubois not saying anything at all is making it more confusing.
Remind me when Berezin from Montreal Canadian asked for a trade and everyone was shocked. We find out years later that the reason was something about drugs problem in the team. Let say that Ribiero was not that clean at this time of his life...
I have a theory that he was also unhappy with the Anderson trade. Him and Anderson were good buddies and it looked promising that Dubois would be traded to Montreal
This is the best hockey content. Keep up the good work-Poopy
Love your work!! New fan.
I’m on Drouin‘s side. He had millions of dollars of career earnings at stake, and he could develop better on most other teams.
Untrue, TBL has been developing youngsters better than any other team in the world in the last 10 years.
Drouin just has mental issues, he had some anxiety stuff recently as well.
You and OhNyquist make the best goddamn hockey videos. Cant get enough.
CBJ wins this trade DuBois quit on him teammates. It’s the most selfish act you could do. Getting Laine for at least one year and getting free from the malignant tumour the PLD situation is the best you could hope for. TBH I hope PLD fails I have no time for that kind of selfishness it feels very NBA to me.
Selfish because he cant work with Torts? Um, okay. There's a thing called different personalities and learning style. The trade was pretty even to me
@@anonymousperson3023 He quit on his teammates in the middle of a game just didn't try. It was as selfish as possible.
@@anonymousperson3023 pretty damn selfish. Requests a trade, won’t tell his coaches or teammates why, than has an absolutely abismal first 5 games leading up to the god awful effort that lead to the benching.
He can not be into the play style of torts all he wants. But you don’t QUIT on your teammates, especially after saying he dosent wanna be a distraction
@@ChronicMewer ok so did liane and roslivic... and you wanna know why... too much talent and they felt they weren’t able to show off enough.
Least effort shift have you ever seen or heard of tyler myers
If you do part 2 Zach Bogosian pulled the same thing Jonathan Drouin pulled and refused to play for buffalo when he was sent down to Rochester. And months later he won the cup with Tampa
Im an Aussie who follows the nhl and your videos are some of the best
Martin st louis said tortarella was the best coach he had because if you work hard he will not complaint
The intro had me dying. Love the videos
Tragically Super Mario was hesitant to play for Pittsburgh :(
If you listened carefully you could hear the worlds smallest violin playing for drouin when tampa won the cup
I was thinking the same, lost his chance at the Stanley Cup. His ego must've meant more to him than a championship.
Lmfao I love your content, Rob! Awesome work !!!
Lindros parents was the root cause behind the Soo refusal
Keep up the good work. Love your vida
Haha that intro was funny Rob!
vids get better and better.
Jesse is with the oilers now and is doing well. The starting jab at the oilers is garbage. At least there’s a South Park reference in here.
As an Avs fan I am grateful for Lindros’ ego. Got us a Dynasty.
As an Avs fan as well...Don’t forget to say thank you to Tremblay for the amazing gift in Roy
Yepper. Quebec got the better of the deal. And Lindros never won a Stanley Cup. His ego was bigger than the entire NHL. And it's too bad because he was a very good player.
Two cups isn't a dynasty.
Imo it is
I think that both the avs and lindros got a great deal. Me personally if someones sexually harassing my mother my ego aint a problem but i will stand my ground and refuse to work for said person.
Really good content! I'm a lightning fan and I do still like Druoin! I hope he continues to get better with the Habs but I'm extremely happy with Sergachev and feel he is the better part of that deal. What did the guy say about Lindros' mom?
Hey Rob, I have a video topic suggestion for ya. It would be about players who surprisingly are under-performing and unlikely players having very strong starts.
Performing exceptionally well: Nick Ritchie, Nik Ehlers, Oliver Bjorkstrand, Andrew Copp
Under-performing: Skinner, Josi, Seth Jones, Duchne/Johansson, Mika Zibanejad
And obviously there are others but these are some lesser known names who are kicking ass as wells others who have yet to take off. Cheers mate.
As a rangers fan. I love john tortorella. Great video. Subbed, bell, everything.
Funny how things can flip in a second, Puljujärvi now is a total stud
Drouin is currently breaking out.
2019-2020: 15 points in 19 games before he got injured.
2020-2021: 9 points in 10 games with 15 minutes ice time
Here in the future he has less goals then Matthew Perrault
and hes kicking ass in the playoffs so far.... Its like you cant even see him when he's out there.
Adam Fox is a prime example of this. The New York native grew up a Ranger fan, and he refused to play for his draft team in Calgary, before being shipped to Carolina, where he would sit again. He finally got his wish, and now he is DOMINATING with the Rangers. We love him here!
the Cash4Gold song was a nice touch :)
This was by far the funniest video RTH ever posted. The Gordon Ramsey of hockey, the FRIENDS show and the music behind Dubois' "shift"
*Agreed. Dubois was worth picking up for the cost. Columbus also doesn't have the depth, offensively, that Winnipeg does.*
DuBois is a flake. He built a new home here in Columbus and moved in this past summer, only to demand a trade 3 months later.
Using analytics charts in your video? We stan
Dubois played for cape Breton in the qmjhl. After he was drafted and got sent back down he stopped trying to the point we where happy when he was traded away.
Val Nichushkin for Dallas
Dipped on us for The KHL and when he got back refused to put in an effort while here
The Laine/Dubois trade is something we wont be able to judge for 10 or so years
I’d say in like 2-3 years when their contracts are up 👀 See who stays and who moves on.
Right now Drouin has 8 points in 7 games. Not bad
He doesn't have a ring though. Glad we got rid of him
Yeah but Sergachev won the cup last year
@@setholson4451 and? You cannot compare a cup contender team vs the 2019 Canadiens...
Some insane butterflyeffects!
I remember Drouin went in the first round in my hockey pool in his “rookie season “ LOL
Lindros' case awes me and i love that he stands by his decision, it's truly unbelievable:D
PLD said it wasn't Tortorella. He said he wanted to leave cause of stuff that went on during the contract negotiations. So it's actually the gm's fault.
Yo rob, did that work out for the bluejackets?? I think puljujarvi has a better game than dubois today.
Dubois is great but his defense is overrated. He played for Torts folks!
Lindros deal certainly set the Flyers back a good decade. I'm talking more about organizationally (AHL and such). If I remember correctly, then they floundered after that Cup run in 97.
Great channel
Rob your channel logo looks strikingly similar to NJPWs Bullet Club stables logo.
Watching this after the Lightning (and Sergachev) beat Montreal to win back to back Stanley Cup Championships…. Such sweet sweet retribution 😄
Jonathan Drouin is becoming Alexandre Daigle 2.0. Also, I am really happy that Eric Lindros listened to his Mom. The Nords/Avs would never have won anything with him anyways.
If you read the literature at the time, Lindros's agent uses the example of Guy Lafluer supposed to be drafted by the California seals, saying that superstars shouldn't play for loser teams. Lindros himself said he didn't want to play in a city where French was the language. Nothing about problems with ownership.
Who really knows, but Only years later he appeared to change his story to try to put himself in a better light.
So….. he’s just a prick
@@lordrayden3045 basically.
@@smithryansmith
Then I really shouldn’t feel bad Scott stevens fucked him up
@@lordrayden3045 Well, I wouldnt wish Scott Stevens on anyone.
Torts really sounded good in my left ear
Bob Mackenzie with that lettuce is cursed
Bobby mac with the sick flow
Would Torts show up at Brooksie’s funeral?
He might be there when Brooksy dies
Eric Lindros said he refused to play for the Nordiques because of their owner in 1991, Marcel Aubut
If only that was explicitly covered in the video...
Thanks tips
So we’re you ever planning on showing any clips of them slacking on the ice?
No mention at all of Patrick Roy? Only just quit the Canadiens and won 2 cups with the Avs (and Forsberg, who I didn't know the backstory of)
Do a video on the legend Ted Nolan!!!!!
I got to watch drouin play a few times in Halifax and he was insane
Players are not slaves. GMs are not their masters. Lindros was right.
Lindros had been quite explicit before the draft that he did not want to play for the Nordiques. The Nordiques, knowing this, decided to draft him regardless. He stood his ground and refused to sign their contract but they refused to trade his rights away.
All I hear is, "wah, wah, i want more privileges, I deserve more, wah wah." OK son, here's your bottle.
I mean it was still a good pick cause the aves had a dynasty
Nashville had plenty of people like that and two that come to mind are Alex radulov and jimmy vesey
I had no respect for Lindros for refusing to play for the Nordiques. Players targeted him on the ice as a result of his diva like behavior as well. The opposite example is Mario Lemieux who said he took it as a personal challenge to start with an organization that was at the bottom of the standings.
I don't understand how Torts ever gets hired by TSN or ESPN or whoever when he's not coaching when he treats reporters like he does.
I feel bad about Drouin, I really hope that he can bounce back this season.
Thought my audio was broken there for 45 seconds!
I would not be surprised if Torts was "accidently " hit by an errand puck during a practice.
Losing Krug to St Louis really hurt me inside :(
Respect to Eric Lindros for holding his ground and staying true to his morals!!
Feel like you could do a whole other list with guys like Blake Wheeler and Adam Fox
Could do a whole video on college players dipping on the teams that drafted them
a famous one was ralph backstrom for the habs, he hated pollack and thought the team was not giving him the ice time he deserved so he refused to dress , as the season wore on the habs begged backstrom to play a few games so they could shop him and ralph agreed as long as the only dealt him to one of 4 teams he agreed to, one of which was the la kings, in return for a very good two way center and an excellent leader in backstrom the habs got a career minor leaguer and a washed up reg who didnt dress a single game for montreal and a draft pick in 74 who bolted to the wha without playing a game for the habs, montreal folklore has tried to turn this deal into the deal that ensured the seals finished last and got lafluer BUT the kings were in the playoff hunt when they made the deal, 4 other teams trailed them two of them expansion teams, the kings were never going to finish last and ended up 9th over all . one of many bad trades that the habs suffered in the early 70s that were covered up with a great goalie and some good drafting.
Lmaoo you need to make videos like this again
I'm a Blackhawks fan, and Kevin Hayes didn't play for them after they drafted him 24th in 2010, he could've been great playing with Kane, Keith and Toews
jesse is the 2nd best forward from his draft class now idc
The way I see it is that Laine will still be upset and unhappy. Because of the fact he’s moving into a more defensive system under Torterella where he has a chance to develop a better all around game or he can just get salty and not try again.
Have you watched Laine play?? Torts is gonna hate the guy more than Dubois...
At the time I thought Lindros was a baby but as I got older I couldn't blame him. He was right to not want to go there
Rob take a look at how Blake Wheeler has been coasting lately after being moved to the second line.
as an aves fan im glad he refused to play, go back and look at the talent that nordeques aves had, the drafting was amazing, if that team had a good owner and mangment they could have won several cups, lindros, forsberg, sakic, foot, deadmarsh, mats sudin,
8:17 That trade is crazy. With hindsight we now know Forsberg was worth 30 Lindros.
