    BTW, I own a 2008 GT and there's a couple of aftermarket goodies which vastly improve the car. I added a Formula Dynamics DBW module which really transforms the car by changing throttle response and shift program. It wasn't that much extra but worth every penny. It is how the car should have been programmed by Maserati to be honest, and it would have changed many of the reviews of the first year model.

    I'm an Auto Broker and one of these just came in trade. 2009 Grand Turismo (4.2 not 4.7S) 1 Owner with only 10800 miles. Owner took it in for service twice/year every year even with those low miles! Red with Black leather... couldnt pass it up, I bought it :) Very Happy and so is my Wife. This is about the sexiest car you can buy, fit/finish is solid, reliability is good (I spoke to Mechanic who serviced it for Owner). No it isnt a rocket, but my 12-15 year old fit fine in the back when we cruise. All for about $30k. Great car for the money

    I will have to agree with the guy on this one, I ran into one of these on the expressway 2 weeks ago while I was heading to lunch in my '02 Z28, he started behind me on the on ramp and tried to pass me but couldnt. He tried for about 7-8 miles and not once could it pull around me. Its a great car, beautiful for sure, but it needs another 50-100 horsepower to drive like it looks like it should.

    • @Jimbo8012
      @Jimbo8012 Před 7 lety +1

      +Martin Ivanovski - Agree completely. Many car testers (not just Plato) have completely lost perspective because of how fast performance cars are today. The new 2016 Audi TT RS for example, is faster than a Porsche 959 from 0-130mph. The 488 in your profile picture is 8 seconds faster to 186mph than an F40.
      Plato's also a very well known BTCC champion who's used to driving extremely fast racing cars so his expectations are far higher.
      A Granturismo is more than adequate for 99% of people. It's still hitting 0-100 in about 13 seconds. Hardly slow!

    @javaleira No idea why that comment is getting thumbs up, he never even mentioned Aston Martins a single time in the review, all he was saying is that the engine wasn't torquey enough (for the weight of the car) so you always had to downshift whenever going up a hill or overtaking (which can be a little jerky).
    Besides, I'm sure when you say "these british shows" you're referring to Top Gear : Jeremy Clarkson has always said that his two favorite type of cars were British AND Italian cars.

    better than most cars though. the ferrari612 loses 1/3 after the first 3 years. a new one costs 330000 and you can get a 2006 with 2000 mi for 209000. thats pretty bad. the same thing applies to brands like mercedes. they lose 2/3 of their value after 3 years. i guess its a tradeoff but I maserati does a better job at it. i mean, im thinking of getting one, but a second hand one, so that way i can avoid depreciation. you can get one/two are every ferr/maser dealer. what do you think? worth it?
