- Hello everyone, tonight's video is an interesting one. The grouse mount will get done with its own real skull, but since its broken I will show you one way of repairing it. also you will see how the broken leg bone can be replaced with a stick. Hopefully you all will enjoy the show.
Any question or comments please leave them in the common area.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks sir for such a informative video
Welcome
Love the skull repair. Beautiful job.
It works very good with most birds.
Great ... foam beats heavy clay, any day!
You bet
What do your freshly mounted birds smell like? I don't know if the smell of mine is normal. Also how do you flesh small birds like starling size? I have a wire wheel but I think it would tear it apart.
They usually smell like the soap I washed them with. Or they just don’t smell at all. What smell are you getting from your birds ? Feather ? If yes that’s normal too. Small birds gotta be fleshed by hand and small piece of hack saw blade or some needle. Anything you can find around the shop that can just scrape with slowly. A very small wire brush works good too.
@@ArtofTaxidermy mine smell a bit like wet dog..kinda bad. All my birds have smelled like it but have no smell once they dry
@@ArtofTaxidermy I think I don't flesh them well enough though I borax them
What material are the bodies you use to stuff birds made of?
They are foam. The bodies are hand carved.

I became a member on your "special" video series. But now I cannot watch them. They are all labelled "private". How do I get in?
Hi Jim.
If you are talking about the Hawk series they are not ready yet. They will start on Monday.
And every time I post them for members there will be a post about them on Community tab.
If you do remember, what are the songs you used in this video?
Sorry I don’t know the name of the songs in any of my videos.
@@ArtofTaxidermy Alright, thank you anyways!
Do you still do this? Can I mail in a bird my husband harvested? Oregon
I’m in Canada I think I’m a little too far for that 😁
