Hello Jaime small birds do not need tanning unless they are water birds and very fatty but simply cleaning very well for a hwafinhc like this is enough. But I use L1 from Bouten for birds when I need too shop.boutentaxidermy.com/en/product/l1-tanning-liquid-for-birds/

Thank you! I always freeze first and then defrost (defrosting time depends on the size of the bird, what is it?) Freezing the animal first will kill any parasites on the animal that might transfer to you! Thanks

What do you soak to keep it from decomposing?

I remove all of the fat and meat from the skin and then dip the skin in alcohol and then I wash the skin in water, salt and a taxidermy detergent called L5 by Bouten and Zoon.

Good afternoon! Can you tell me if you use special solutions for animal skins? I would like to learn in more detail from someone what they are made of and what stages exist in the manufacture of stuffed animals. Thanks!

I was wondering if you offered your taxidermy I have a dove from last season I was wanting to mount and I bought a kit but I soon learned it was a lot harder that I thought lol. Could I send you the kit and obviously pay to have you mount a dove?

Hello, I do take on Commissions. If you send me an email ethicaltaxidermy@gmail.com that would be best. I do however only work with animals that have died from natural causes so if your bird was shot I can advise an alternative taxidermist for you. Thank you J
