- Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has released its official extended trailer for Rings of power at San Diego Comic-Con International. SDCC had LOTR guest panels where the cast gave interviews such as Sophia Nomvete who plays Disa and Cynthia Addai-Robinson who plays Miriel.
These cast members were more than happy to talk about how J. R. R. Tolkien had created a world they would ignore. Because the conversations had changed, and now it's time for a modern lens.

There is so much to talk about when it comes to Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power from SDCC. Panels at San Diego Comic-con themselves, interviews and a whole host of the usual insane articles that you can expect from modern day entertainment journalists. It's going to be interesting! But was the trailer what you expected, did you like any of it? What did you think of the cast members interviews, do they reassure you or would they have been better keeping quiet? Let me know your thoughts below and as always, thanks for watching :)
Tired of it. Fauk em
It's to funny it's like game of thrones and a meme of l.o.t.r. they literally killed off the men except the elf and they all just say she's wrong and she's like no I'm not over and over soo you already know the ending of this story
Didn't see it. I'm not giving them ad revenue.
“The bigger things get the smaller and duller or flatter the globe gets. It is getting to be all one blasted little provincial suburb. When they have introduced American sanitation, morale-pep, feminism, and mass production throughout the Near East, Middle East, Far East, U.S.S.R., the Pampas, el Gran Chaco, the Danubian Basin, Equatorial Africa, Hirther Further and Inner Mumbo-land, Gondhwannaland, Lhasas, and the villages of darkest Berkshire, how happy we shall be . At any rate it out to cut down travel. There will be nowhere to go. So people will (I opine) go all the faster. (leter 53)”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien
Sheer fluffin' hubris.
_“We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren't going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. What we were trying to do was to analyze what was important to Tolkien and to try to honor that. In a way, we were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves.”_ ~ Peter Jackson
And that is the difference between an artist and an activist. We need more Peter Jacksons.
But Amazon clearly have just as much passion to respect and honour Tolkien's legacy based on these quotes:
From Vanity Fair: _"The forging of the rings," says Showrunner Patrick McKay. "Rings for elves, rings for dwarves, rings for men, and the one ring Sauron used to deceive them all. It's the story of creation of all those powers, where they came from, and what they did to each of those races." The driving question behind the production, he adds, was this: "Can we _*_come up with the novel Tolkien never wrote_*_ and do it as a mega-event series that could only happen now?"_
Oh.. wait. He is speaking about the forging of the rings of power, and the stories that happened during that time period and what happened as a result. Which were written about in novels that Tolkien wrote. But due to legal reasons, they are literally having to write their own version.
_''We took all these little clues and thought of them as stars in the sky that we then connected to _*_write the novel that Tolkien never wrote_*_ about the Second Age”_ RoP Showrunner J.D Payne ..they seem pretty intent on just writing their own story and adapting it.. they seem almost proud of the fact that it's not Tolkien's actual work
Patrick McKay on Galadriel: _“She’s full of piss and vinegar and she’s got a sword that’s broken because she’s killed so many orcs”_ (sigh. not entirely relevant, but a good quote to better understand their mindset)
_“It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like''_ Lindsay Webber, RoP executive producer (that's in reference to the introduction of a diverse-cast, ie politics. If they truly cared they'd have actually adapted the stories of the diverse cultures of Middle Earth)
okay the conclusion is they're full of shyte.
@@Vexarax Yes, they're full of shyte, particularly Lindsay Webber. It doesn't matter whether it's Shakespeare (apparently problematic), Star Wars, Star Trek, Ghost Busters, or LOTR; they were chosen only because they're popular and with big audiences. The woke hate the stories and characters.
Both Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge described James Bond as a psychopathic rapist whose adventures were problematic and needed to be more progressive. Who would agree to produce and write for a franchise they hated unless they just saw it as a vehicle for their own agenda?
@@JustAnArrogantAlien at this point is the difference between a normal human being and a delusional narcissists. Who has raised this kids how they end up in possition as directors, writers and actors and not in a sanatorium?
I don't think anyone would use this show to introduce younger generations to Tolkien's world. My Dad introduced me and my siblings to Tolkien by showing us the animated Hobbit movie which started to get us interested. Then he gave us the book to read. And that really got us interested. Then he showed us one small clip of the Balrog from the movies and said we could watch the rest when we finished the books.
Exactly! Bakshi version was the one which dragged me into this amazing world. Jackson’s one was just stellar. Watching those movies in cinema was incredible.
And they are so pathetic they think this will be the only LOTR available from now on. What are they planning? Remove Jackson’s version from the face of the earth?!
@@misiopuchatek152 Bakshi didn't film The Hobbit though, he filmed LotR up to the Battle of Helm's Deep and a future part 2 for the rest of the story never materialized unfortunately.
@@voiceover2191 yes I know but still even the first part was amazing for a kiddo I was then. Ringwraights were so scary. All of the Mordor forces were frightening. It was enough to convince me it is something extraordinary.
@@misiopuchatek152 Indeed, the Nazgul were done very well and I do think Jackson was inspired by the Bakshi potrayal and I loved the weird animation style of mixing normal animation with actual real shot footage with real sets and actors that was coloured in afterwards. I was introduced along my brother with the movies...and we love it, i'm the one who is more on Tolkien lore.

Hey!
Does anyone remember when Éowyn took control of her agency, dressed up in a man’s armor, and rode with her uncle to the battle of Pelennor Fields - where she slayed the Witch-King of Angmar (with the assistance of a Hobbit)?
You do?
Okay, I was just curious, because the way these actresses talk about agency, they make it sound like women have never had the ability to do anything (even though this lore explicitly states otherwise).
It's as though the words, "I am no man", meant nothing to them.

I am brown and growing up (and even now) I never felt the need to be represented in Tolkien's work. Who cares about representation if the story is gripping and characters well thought out.
How dare you not follow along by thinking for yourself!
Amazon couldn't come up with something fun, original and enjoyable using little known stories from African and Caribbean folklore that doesn't focus on race and modern race issues. They couldn't actually care less, they just see profits and pushing a one sided ideology, using talentless hacks with no imagination or creativity outside of stealing from more talented people.
I am white and I never felt the need to be represented in things like Japanese period films. Shit even anime I watched as a kid. The Naruto series has a blonde haired deep blue eyed protagonist and I watched it with English subtitles and never once thought "this kid is white".
Making non-white people front and centre in Lord of the Rings is as stupid as casting Timothy Chalameet in a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon remake.
Funny how its only white dominated works that need "race-washing" though. Cant imagine the reason for it.....
actually we need you guys to tell them to shut up with representation otherwise we're called racist everytime
I loved stories about other cultures as well, even ones where there were no white Europeans present, because the stories were great. Hollywood does not get that at all
The tragedy of this is from the total lack of awareness of the works of Tolkien and why they ARE a global success. Not only was Tolkien a writer but also a scholar. He weaved his tales with grace and humility. The themes he entrenched in them are timeless. The so called 'updating' for a modern generation is hubris from this motley collection of egotists. They do not care of the art created by Tolkien nor the inspiration it has given millions since its release. Tolkien did not write this on a whim. He did not write this as a vehicle for future hacks to revel and glorify in. He created an epic of monumental proportions. He fleshed out each character, land, being and belief with careful detail. He made a human a tale to last the ages. He took inspiration from the Eddic Sagas of Iceland, the early Proto-English and Germanic works of Beowulf, Sigurd and Kelluvor. He combined them with his faith. He made a concept the Mammon inspired hacks of Amazon could not hold a light to. They cannot wield the prose of Tolkiens words so they attempt to dilute and divest it. They cannot generate the imagination he beheld of the light his words emanated, so they try and hide it in their shade of corpulence's. Their self-aggrandising natures show them to be more akin to the works of Morgoth rather than the Valar. They corrupt the elves as Melkor did to create the orcs. They twist the stories to suit their own foolish means. They care little for the future as they can only see themselves in the present.
In this darkest of hours we can only wait for the rising of the dawn when the light of good shall prevail on these minions of the dark. Standing firm in this last bastion of the believers in Tolkiens work we can but hope the light will shine again.
Plus, Tolkien was a
“white “ Anglo Saxon “ so that what was he originally wrote about.
@@James_Wade his ethnicity is only a minor factor. He was a Don at Oxford who taught Proto Germanic literature. His knowledge base was on early English, Germanic and Slavic literature and history.

One of the strangest statements in those articles was how great it was "to see posters of Rings of Power in every language", as if that was a result of their diversity and inclusion obsession.
Apparently he's unaware that LOTR has been translated into almost every language in is extremely popular around the world, and the movies were highly successful in almost every country around the world as well, even though every major character in the entire Tolkien universe is white. It's almost as if people don't need to share a race with a character to be able to like that character.
@@frankvandorp2059 good stories translate. I enjoy Japanese and Chinese tales yet strangley I'm English. So, Lúthien is what? A love sick puppy? She LITERALLY faced off against Sauron with her lover. It was to go after the Silmarils from Morgoth's Iron Crown as a bride price. She gave up her immortality so her lover could live. Tolkien based Lúthien after his wife, who's gravestone has written her name along with the elf's. The story is mentioned multiple times in the original LoTR.
There also is Éowyn, lovely for them to forget her. She is a shield maiden, which means there is an official position for fighting women (though if I remember correctly, this was more of a defensive role rather offensive).
Eowyn was neutered in the Jackson films, though. I realize her arc was mostly cut for time, but the resulting impression people got, even in the extended edition, was that she was a hysterical female who threw herself into battle when a man rejected her, but was cured by another man. This is not what happens in the books, of course.
Iirc, shield maidens were intended to defend the civilians in the event of a surprise attack while the army was out. In this context, Eowyn in the books rightly noted that they lacked the force to do any good if it came to that: If she ever got to fight in that role they were all doomed anyway. That would not have been the case in a normal war.

The immersive quality of fantasy evapourates the moment values not of the original material intrude on the narrative. Tolkien understood this. His creation is so convincing because it remains true to itself and to the beliefs of the author. It will be impossible to watch this without noticing the personal values and agendas they have clumsily inserted, and it defeats the object of bringing Tolkien's work to the screen.
I expect John Cleese sitting behind a desk exclaiming "And now for something completely different" and the Monty Python theme plays and the show starts.
“The canons of narrative in any medium cannot be wholly different, and the failure of poor
films is often precisely in exaggeration, and in the intrusion of unwarranted matter owing to not perceiving where the core of the original lies.”
“He has cut the parts of the story upon which its characteristic and peculiar tone principally depends, showing a preference for fights; and he has made no serious attempt to represent the heart of the tale adequately: the journey of the Ringbearers.”
“Here I may say that I fail to see why the time-scheme should be deliberately contracted. It is already rather packed in the original, the main action occurring between Sept. 22 and March 25 of the following year.”
“The many impossibilities and absurdities which further hurrying produces might, I suppose, be unobserved by an uncritical viewer; but I do not see why they should be unnecessarily introduced. Time must naturally be left vaguer in a picture than in a book; but I cannot see why definite time-statements, contrary to the book and to probability, should be made,”
“The last and most important pan of this has, and it is not too strong a word, simply been murdered.” J.R.R. Tolkien
If only people would focus on the importance of understanding the past on its own terms instead of projecting modern ideas and attitudes back into the past.

The selection contains 354 letters, dating between October 1914, when Tolkien was an undergraduate at Oxford, and 29 August 1973, four days before his death. Specifically in letter 210 to Forrest J. Ackerman. Another couple of letters worth noting is #29 & #30 replying to a German request for information in 1938 as to whether he was of Aryan descent his reply, "I regret that I am not clear as to what you intend by arisch. I am not of Aryan extraction: that is Indo-Iranian; as far as I am aware none of my ancestors spoke Hindustani, Persian, Gypsy, or any related dialects. But if I am to understand that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin, I can only reply that I regret that I appear to have no ancestors of that gifted people. My great-great-grandfather came to England in the eighteenth century from Germany: the main part of my descent is therefore purely English, and I am an English subject "..."I cannot, however, forbear to comment that if impertinent and irrelevant inquiries of this sort are to become the rule in matters of literature, then the time is not far distant when a German name will no longer be a source of pride."
He is speaking about the forging of the rings of power, and the stories that happened during that time period and what happened as a result. Which were written about in novels that Tolkien wrote. But due to legal reasons, they are literally having to write their own version.
_''We took all these little clues and thought of them as stars in the sky that we then connected to _*_write the novel that Tolkien never wrote_*_ about the Second Age”_ RoP Showrunner J.D Payne .. they seem almost proud that this isn't actually Tolkien's work?
Patrick McKay on Galadriel: _“She’s full of piss and vinegar and she’s got a sword that’s broken because she’s killed so many orcs”_ (sigh. not entirely relevant, but a good quote to better understand their mindset)
_“It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like''_ Lindsay Webber, RoP executive producer (that's in reference to the introduction of a diverse-cast, ie politics. If they truly cared they'd have actually adapted the stories of the diverse cultures of Middle Earth)
What baffles me more than all this nonsense are the people still vehemently insisting this is Tolkien and will be accurate to his vision. they keep saying ''you haven't even seen it you're just jumping on the hate bandwagon for clout'' ....erm no. I literally read and listened to the showrunners loudly and repeatedly stating that this isn't Tolkien and that they wrote their own story to adapt into a TV series because for legal reasons they cannot actually adapt Tolkien's Second Age stories.
Just for fun though, let's see what Tolkien himself would say about this:
_''I would ask them to make an effort of imagination sufficient to understand the irritation (and on occasion the resentment) of an author, who finds, increasingly as he proceeds, his work treated as it would seem carelessly in general, in places recklessly, and with no evident signs of any appreciation of what it is all about. The canons of narrative in any medium _*_cannot be wholly different;_*_ and the failure of poor films is _*_often precisely in exaggeration, and in the intrusion of unwarranted matter_*_ owing to not perceiving where the core of the original lies''_ letter 210, on bad adaptations of his work
i like it shes perfectly fine with empathizing with a mythical race of subteranean dwaves, but not if they are white.
Unity till people say CRT is pseudo intellectual bs that doesn't actually improve relations. Then its branding those people evil and demanding they are silenced.
That is the bottom line; "It is all about them." That is the primary reason it will be garbage.
What is the Hollywood obsession with “reflecting todays culture” in sci-fi/fantasy franchises? The genre is supposed to be escapism and the farthest thing from reality. I won’t be watching LOTR/ROP just like I didn’t watch Kenobi.
Their, “reflecting on today’s culture”, is to vandalise and destroy our culture. It’s as simple as that.
Stories, architecture etc. Are quiet good mirrors of societies. On one Hand, it used to be some sort of release for critique, struggles, fears and achivements. Like Frankenstein in the eara of industrialisation, the fear of Technology... what happens now is, that this sort of subversive art is a forged product. It is a forged Image. The message is not important. Only the appearance of something. It is not a Parabel of society or issiues, it is an artificial forged narrative. Things used to develope... now people and companies seem to skip developement but try to force their will blant and stupid into stories.
But people like pictures. Nor al books habe too many Latters. There are books that are killed with pictures... easier to understand. Better, pictures of books people can pretend to have red.
We can feel that there is no depth in this series.. because it was never ment to. It should only look like something deep with a message. Just a great parable PDF modern society XD. Some sort of contradictive. But something i guess the world is more and more heading to. Butchering works of the past for some pseudo epic stories with forged narratives. Why build in a way people used to build in an area for thousands of years with regional materials? With no thougts of how things work together? When you can sculpt concrete after your own will to look as you wanted... doesnt matter if it works or not. If the look is right, goal achived XD....
Years of hiring SJW activists, who now have enough power, that want to twist escapism to preach their politics and ideaology on people to join them.
You are very wise to not waste your time with such rubbish.
for real i think the ultimate goal is to make us sick of TV and video games in general
The ”Sorry, we don’t accept comments on this article.” at the end of the article, is quite telling of their ”tolerance”, ”inclusion of differences” and ”diversity”…
I'm not against promoting "message" over story-telling, if that's what you want to do. If there's an audience for that, good for everyone involved. But there's only one reason to buy a property you're not really interested in adapting, and that is to trick a pre-existing audience into believing that you're making something you're not ... and that is a different thing entirely.
i think creating that clash from hardcore fans is the actual goal
This show will fail spectacularly and I can only hope Amazon doesn’t survive
With the money that Amazon is going to be willing to dump into this thing, technically the show won't fail. It will last for five seasons based on the bank roll of the parent company and the people who have decided to be fans of it will point to its longevity and equate that to being a sign of its quality. It will just be another divisive product that was forced on us from a company that had more money than common sense.
In the end, the saddest part is going to be that the source material will have become diluted by the subpar material that is out now.
The show will probably be the highest grossing series on Amazon ever! And the thought that Amazon could go under because of the series is partly megalomaniac. Like religious people, you are totally caught up in your ideology and are no longer receptive to rational arguments.
I am no fan of any big corporation, but I love "The Boys" and it airs on Amazon Prime...

How does a show on a subscription site bring in money other than the service fee charged to watch?
Wouldn't the success of this show be based on viewership, ratings and reception, and return watches (basically data metrics)???
Where is the extra 💰 coming from?
I think that it is time to dust off the old 1950's era home bomb shelter as this series is going to be a bomb on a nuclear level. there is definitely going to be fallout from this.
This has got to be the most elaborate and expensive LARP session ever, run by a gamemaster who couldn't be bothered to read the actual rules, and so decides to make up his own.
i did LARP a lot from 16yo to 22yo and our orcs costumes were way better than theirs......that says a lot
"The chasm between the beauty and seriousness of the work, and what it has become, has overwhelmed me. The commercialization has reduced the aesthetic and philosophical impact of the creation to nothing. There is only one solution for me: to turn my head away."
-Christopher Tolkien
"Based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien"... unfortunately the only way any part of this abomination of a project could be seen as "based".
"Based" means they used LotR in the title and used a few names from the book. Thats it.
This is how it works:
"A true story' means it has little to do with the real story
'Based on a true story' means it has almost nothing to do with the real story
'Inspired by a true story' means it has no resemblance to the real story at all
It's the same for films based on fictional works.
"Based on the world of J.R.R Tolkien."
Just like how _Balto_ was "based on a true story."
I'm amazed that they just come out saying "i'm so proud of my achievement being a woman, black and kinda big". Yeah we can all see that but that's literally the most unimportant part. You should be Proud of your Talent, your Character, Your Personality. Oh nevermind those people are lacking in everything there.
But obviously they do not get those jobs because of talent but the checked boxes.
@@misiopuchatek152 i know but is that really a thing you want to boast about? I would be embarrassed. In germany we have a Word for that "Bärendienst" roughly translates to providing someone a disservice.

Tolkien rolls in his grave. Eminem is not Sauron. What a dumpster fire.
I don’t think it is confirmed that this was Sauron.
@@leoberger557 it's not. It's a female actress playing an original character, a cultist. Sauron is someone else who's identity was revealed already by legit sources on CZcams.
I've basically given up on modern culture and entertain myself by reading classic literature. Far more appealing and challenging.
I've been re-reading The Chronicles of Narnia, which I have not read in decades! Nostalgia bomb.
The more they continue with this the more it actually upsets and angers me. Was watching someone's opinion the other day and they didn't know much about the lore but they understood the meaning and significance of the films and how beautiful they were. Their passion for the films and their thoughts on what Amazon were doing actually nearly brought me to tears. The more they double-down, triple down, quadruple down etc just shows they are desperate and they know they are losing. I won't be watching this dumpster fire when it lands, I will be reading the books and watching the films. This didn't need to be based in Middle-Earth, they could have made their own show and I would watch it and respect them more - even if they said it was "inspired by Tolkien". Now it's clear they are just destroying Tolkien's legacy deliberately. Sod this shite.
Please keep up this work, so many of the beautiful works and Legacies of others have been lost to people like this. We need people like you to shed light on it
"Becuse they know they don't have any talent" hahaha there is a swedish saying for that "klockrent" basicly spot on ^^
Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings is more likely to be watched than their series.
It really disgust me how they think we none white Tolkien fans can't enjoy the series because there's no black people in it. The sheer fucking hubris of it.
I'm not even going to hate watch it. I don't want to give them a single hit on their show. I'll just enjoy watching you having watched it and tell me how much of a dumpster fire it is. :)
The bbc were shilling like crazy for this rubbish, pushing the diversity angle and all the usual garbage the bbc do. They also said "fans" "love" the trailers. Dunno who they class as "fans" but it certainly not those who love Tolkien's Lord if the Rings.
I am sick to death of the BBC and their lies.
They mean the "superfans" ;)
Well they lost all those millions of Dr Who fans because of EXACTLY the same identity politics & intersectional feminism. What’s that definition of insanity again ?
I have started noticing that these people are increasingly lying as if it were the truth. These people run our countries, our systems, our religions, our economy. We are being ruled by evil wicked beings. It is become quite obvious. Their symbolism surely proves it.
its all the blue check marks on twitter, the BBC cant even work out which Doctor Who fans they want anymore, they sure as hell cant do it for a Lord of the Rings
This is GoT rehashed, modified and given the name Tolkien as a selling point. I am never a GoT fan but having seen bits and pieces of the show in CZcams, it is safe to say that this is Amazon's attempt to cash on GoT by using Tolkien name, characters and world. However, the core purpose of this show is to push The Message (in Critical Drinker's voice).
Having read The Silmarillion, Tar-Miriel doesn't look like that. It's a deliberate swap to please certain group who never actually care for Tolkien and his creations. Numenoreans in this show are reflections of the modern world, not the tall advanced humans described in The Silmarillion. This is what happens when you let hacks toy around with a beloved story that actually transcends modern politics and time.
If you stepped out of aragorns throne room and strolled down the second level of Mina’s tirith you would find whore houses and brothels.
Poundland version of GoT, perhaps...
The saddest part is Amazon started as a book vendor and would do this to such a literary masterwork... shame😔
The hero who sees himself become the villain?
This will be just as "important" and "transforming" and "forming generations to come" as all-female Ghostbusters. And much like all-female Ghostbusters I'm not going to watch it :D
Or the women's march everyone forgot about lol
I'd love to hear an Enya parody where she tries to perform a special song for this thing only to have her ditch the Irish lilt and go, *"What the **BLEEP**!!"*
One thing I've noticed (I'm sure I'm not alone) from these cast interviews across the board is that none of the actors, and I mean _NONE_ unless I've missed something somewhere, have ever once mentioned either their love/knowledge of Tolkien, or even his _name_ in any of these interviews. With the Jackson films, most of the actors hadn't read LotR before being cast, but they not only read the books and familiarized themselves with his work, but also studied up on Tolkien's life and mentioned that A LOT in cast interviews. They talked a lot about how the books and "how would Tolkien feel about this scene? How would Tolkien present this character? What was he thinking/feeling when he wrote it?" affected their performances. Honestly, I HIGHLY DOUBT that many (if any) of these adult pretenders in RoP have read any of Tolkien's works- probably just their scripts.
Actors these days just do their own thing they don't prep and work at understanding a role anymore thats partly why everything sucks, actors for the most part phone it in these days
agreed, and its very noticeable because their takes on Tolkien and what this show is delivering, thus display a complete lack of knowledge. maybe if they do an open to the public Q&A someone should ask how many of them have even read the books, because I suspect actually hardly any of them have.
Tolkien was a conservative Christian.
So if at any time you find yourself adapting a work of Tolkien, you should always ask yourself: "would a conservative Christian like this?"
If the answer is no, then Tolkien wouldn't have liked it either. You should either change direction or abandon it and adapt a different franchise.
The words these people are speaking reveal more what this series is going to be about far more than the images they are showing us.
Our worst enemy, the normies embracing the consoomers' creed.
Yep
Thank you for your videos regarding this subject. You put my thoughts into words in a way i cannot do myself.
Very well said, brother. Been a fan and subscriber of yours only recently and this was top shelf commentary. Thank you for speaking the facts as always
I introduced my daughter to Tolkein at 3 weeks old by reading The Hobbit to her... I then diverted via every Narnia book and then returned to Lord of the Rings getting to around half way through before she grew just a little too old to just listen, and wanted something more interactive. She knows Smaug, she knows who Sam and Frodo were (because I made her a hobbit hole shelf diorama that is on the wall in her playroom) and she is most excited about the coming Christmas because that is when we watch every extended edition from the original six movies back to back over the weeks running up...
... and I will not be watching a second of this abomination, I will not partake in any of this destruction of that which I love. Additionally I cancelled my Prime subscription and am weening myself off Amazon entirely.
Hit them where it hurts - in the wallet... but more than that, educate and encourage the next generation to know the REAL Tolkien so they can identify the warping of lore that Bozos and his ilk are causing.
Keep these videos coming; your erudition is welcome.
Well said!
I really can't wait when this comes out so the actual fans of TOLKIEN can shit on it.
Correct me here, but they duplicated scenes from the Lord of the Rings just because their story writing is frankly so awful they're desperately clutching at anything to avoid admitting they screwed this up?
That Palantiri for instance was made for the Faithful as a means of communication so why aren't they using that rather than have their discount Galadriel pay a visit to Numenor when she only needs a bowl and a pitcher of water to communicate with that Queen?
The nearest 5G tower was destroyed so she couldn’t get a connection. Modern technology… 😖
"New Palantir, Who dis?"
-Warrior Galadriel, Manspreader of Empires.
Why Galadriel seems to be serving as a messenger to Numenor? They could invent some elf, or use Haldir or Rumil and Orophin.
Meaning there wasn't already an ambassador already present given the founder of Numenor was Elrond's twin brother and the cult of melkor situation started after the rings were forged is that correct?
Galadriel seems to end up on Numenor by necessity after shipwrecking with Halbrand.
People could emotionally relate to Wall-E... a robot in the shape of a box 📦
I found this most recent trailer a lot like what you said with house of the dragon - I thought the trailer actually looked pretty good, but knowing everything that's gone before and the articles you referenced, we know it's not going to be anything like it should be in reality
I had the exact same experience. It's too bad; it's clear the VFX team put in a lot of hard work for something that will be ultimately forgettable because of poor writing and the treatment of its fans.
Eminem is a great choice with casting for sauron
His Sick Rhymes WILL destroyed Everybody
Billy Idol on crack
I guess he loses himself in this series.
If this is gonna be THIS bad, and they have sources to draw from (at least inspiration if not anything else) I'm not holding out hope for ANY other adaptations coming up, not "The Mutants", not Fallout, none of it...
No plot, diversity politics, pointless tits and sex scenes, thats all they have to "offer " us anymore...
When I see dwarf queen I suddenly hear “Welcome to the new World” like at the Star Wars hotel
What a summery this was! Brilliant! So brilliant, in fact, that it could just as much be you talking about what is going on & is so wrong with Star Wars or Star Trek or any other massacred franchise out there. When you described the actress that plays the dwarf princess I kept thinking about Reva in Kenobi & Kathleen Kennedy herself. The same obsession with skin color & gender, not actual talent or love or respect for the actual creation. Indeed, they ARE psychopaths! All they do is about making themselves feel good, not a single thought to bring something nice to the people of the world. We must like what they do or else. Not leaving it to our own choice to like it or not. I've found it so fascinating, the hypocrisy of it all, that people that claim to be fighting for tolerance show tolerance the absolute least.
And what we all should do about what they do to our entertainment & culture you summon up just as well at the end there. Keep telling them how wrong they are, destroy their selfish arguments with facts & don't pay for the BS they wanna push on us. Even psychopaths, in the end, need money to pay bills & buy food. As long as they behave like idiots they should not get paid.
Should say "loosely" based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
A loosely based on re-interpretation...
Tolkiens name shouldn't even be mentioned, it's disrespectful to link his name to a Hollywood trashcan
She could have summoned the eagles to help her get the helmet at the top of that pile.
I have 2 kids (6yo & 1yo) and neither of them are going to be seeing this tripe upon release. In fact, they'll be raised with the Original trilogy, and even the Hobbit trilogy (LOTR first though).
Hell even the cartoon with camp Gollum is more preferable lol
Excellent commentary and I actually watched the comic con panel where they made some of those comments - and its interesting at first most of them have their Tolkien talking points but when allowed to keep talking reveal their agendas and worldviews = and the showrunners have no one to blame then themselves for the fan division as they claim they are making the show the way they wanted and not forced to do anything by Amazon one moment using Tolkien's name in vain and the next giving their 2022 perspective representation inclusion and diversity A small funny bit was the haircut question and they hemmed and hawed and then said that elves are diverse They cant help themselves and so right about the post modern world
"Will effect generations to come..."
Yes that it's shit and we'll look back and laugh at woke crap.
I could enjoy the land of Wakanda and relate to the characters even though I'm not from Africa.
This was a truly intelligent and wonderful solid and insightful address to this whole particular issue and conversation. Thanks.
This guy is so savagely honest and it's utterly beautiful.
I guarantee none of these arrogant pretenders would sing the same tune if anything they created were revised, twisted, cannibalized, and regurgitated by others without any respect for their own source material. But since they rarely create anything anyone would even remotely consider worthy of appropriating for that purpose they'll never have personal impetus to understand why people despise what they're doing. And no, it has nothing to do with skin color or what lurks between one's thighs despite their desperation for it to be so as an excuse to commit atrocities upon someone else's work and legacy. They deserve no more respect than they show. Which is absolutely none.
I will reserve my final judgement on this show after I have seen it not before.
Disparu really growing into his full potential, as a handsome connoiseur of culture critique.
Thank you SO much for making these videos. Your voice is the medium people like me need to express the rage inside regarding this bastardisation. Your sharp words pierce the superficial veil of majesty that this tv show weaves. Keep up the good work mate!
This hits it right on the spot.
This is the mindset that fueled the Star Wars sequels.
And it’s part what’s killing Star Wars in some spots.
The arrogance of these ppl astounds me.
George Lucas: I'm sorry, I'm sorry Star Wars...for everything.
Disney Star Wars: I'm not your failure, George. You didn't kill Star Wars... I did.

As always top notch video. Keep them coming
I want quality over quantity. I never even noticed that there were only male characters in The Hobbit, because the story was amazing. I never cared that there were so few female characters in the Lord of the Rings, because the few we had were amazing! And as a woman who suffers from endocrine & hormonal issues that cause me to grow facial hair, I would have loved to see real female dwarves. They had the chance to do their sacred "Normalization" and "Representation" by showing that women can be beautiful...and still be women...while also having facial hair. That should have been right up their alley. My mom has been reading & loving Tolkien's works for at least the last 50 years...it's so entertaining for her to break down the trailers so far, tearing them a new one...so she and I can't wait to hate-watch this trash heap (might as well, since we have Prime and a FireStick).
Doesn't matter if you love-watch it or hate-watch it, you'll be giving Amazon your money to pay for this trash heap and that's all they care about.
@@edytaszafraniec7837 the money has already been given, for the purpose of speedier delivery and watching our favorite streaming services on our TV to make entertainment easier for my legally blind father. I'm not paying for Rings of Power, it's just there, so we might as well.
The actors' opinions are pretentious drivel. I have too much respect for Tolkien's lore to give this garbage show one minute of my time. May it fail epically.
Excellent summary! Love your work.
