- I needed a label for my Brooklyn by Swoon and so I pulled out some scraps & got to work!
I used vinyl, leather and canvas for the tags and HTV (heat transfer vinyl) for the words. Please note HTV is not the same as vinyl you use for sewing!

Nice video... rather helpful. just one note. HTV stands for heat transfered vinyl if it's the kind that adheres without heat it's just vinyl. Thank you for the video!

Hobby lobby's brand is great, and affordable HTV. the sheet you put over it is a " teflon pressing sheet"
Lol You sound just like me "I can make these myself"... I say that about everything. If I had the recipe I'd try to make my own HTV sheets too🤣 Ok great, I'll have to check out Hobby Lobby's stash. This is on time because I sure did make my business cards on my scan n cut. Good looking out on the fonts. Going to give them a try.

Great video. I hadn't thought of doing labels with my cricut. Guess what I'm doing today..
A couple of pointers. The outline is from the backing sheet. If you leave a bit more space around your design so the backing sheet is off the side of your label when you press, you won't get this.
Also try a different setting with your animal print htv. Hit 'more pressure ' on the blade setting or try a setting for something thicker like glitter vinyl on the menu. You just have to find a setting it likes.

Hi Niri! Yes, in the video I explain about the outline and how to avoid getting it. I also noted to use the more pressure option, which I did, and it still would not cut through it😭 I suppose I shall give it one more go lol

Thanks for the video. I love all your videos. I’m going to try to make some leather/vinyl name tags. I have a lot of experience with HTV and adhesive vinyl and you did a pretty good job explaining. When you cut the printed HTV you have to cut it a little deeper than the regular HTV. 🤗

143 vinyl has some really good htv... Htv is great I wonder how it would hold up on a bag front like a panel or something... I have used it on the back of tassels etc. I have also made some tags it saves so much money... Great Tutorial!!

Thank you for this tutorial, Ravon. It's great. I didn't hear if you addressed it. But, can you use regular permanent stick vinyl? I have tons of that type of vinyl. Didn't know the types that I'd actually use before purchasing vinyl when I got my cricut.
Hi! I'm not an expert on vinyl, so i don't want to steer you in the wrong direction or give incorrect information; the only kind I've ever used is what I have linked in the description box of this tutorial.
HTV …. Didn’t hear you you say the letters are short for Heat Transfer Vinyl. You did great explaining what it is though. I NEED me a circuit. 😊

Did you know you can connect your Maker via Wi-Fi and not deal with cords?
I like being able to design on my laptop or iPad and not worrying about plugging it in and out. I know some prefer to directly connect, but just thought I’d mention that in case you didn’t know.

I use bluetooth with my cricut. Cuz in relocating the cord went into hiding

Hey Karen! 👋🏽 Thank you! No, I haven't, but I hear people do it all the time. I'm too lazy to cut out a square to then place on my mat etc, upload the svg etc. I'll just stick to the ol school trace & cut method lol The process is quite relaxing to me.

Anyone with a Silhouette Cameo make these yet? I've been trying but for some reason, the fonts don't show up in my Silhouette fonts. I'm not technologically advanced AT ALL so I have no idea what to do now. 🤦🏼♀️ So embarrassing 😂

A "Cricut" is a cutting machine that you can connect to your computer. You can use it to cut out all kinds of things. I have a Silhouette Cameo 3 cutting machine. I'm still learning how to use it.😅
