I'm here to share tutorials on bag patterns I've selected as well as introduce patterns of my own.
Below each tutorial I will be breaking down where I purchased my materials and the cost to help you to determine what price you should sell at.
I want to open discussions about all things bagmaking related; from vendors to order bag necessities from, to tips I've picked up on that I want to share, and even get into conversations about things like becoming a business entity, applying for licenses and filing forms to claim bag making expenses on your taxes.
My ultimate goal is to help other small business owners in the world of bag making figure out how to set their shop up for success by making unique and sellable bags at an efficient cost.

Ooooo. I like that first and the third have my attention. Would you have to interface the 3rd one. Have you tried folding them multiple times? I'm curious to see if they crack. I have a bag in mind already for the first. No lining either. The wheels are turning. I do need to hop on your website and snag a couple things for it. Thanks for thinking outside the box. I like this idea
I personally would not interface the ones that you can see through. I folded them for the topstich and after adding the lining with no cracking. I personally would not make a bag that requires too much folding with these materials, simply for the esthetic. I think that's why most raffia bags are totes or have simple structures.

4 hours later...đ. Does the accordion have to be purchased or are there instructions to make it? Are there svg files for the leather cutout? Its super cute and a quick sew if you can afford to purchase the quick pieces. Will you make a video of the other options or are you over it? Thank you fir this tutorial.
So, I'm not sure. This isn't my pattern, but I'm sure Ann ( the pattern designer) can answer all of those questions for you, or that info might already be listed when you go to her website/pattern page. I do know that this pattern was made specifically for that insert, so I don't believe there is an option for making it without it.

random Q: how did you cover your machine table w/ that nice marble looking stuff.
Hi! I got that from Home Depot. It actually comes much. I cut 7ft Ă 5ft to make my table that I work on. This was leftover, so I laid it over my machine's table last so I could have more space for recording. I believe the wood was about $35, and they cut it for you at Home Depot.
What materials do you need to make a clutch?

The organization has me on giddy school girl status. Idk what the second stuff was. Im interested how you bond it to leather. I've only used heat n bond to make material water resistant. Looking forward to what that one is that too. RFID is the anti theft (or whatever the correct terminology is. Before someone tries to correct me)material. When we doing this tutorial?

Please help, I don't understand, I have 3 pieces for the front flap? All say to cut 1 exterior. This is my first bag so I'm not sure on how the 3 flaps work. Is the one with the grommet markings just to be used for markings? Thank you in advance.

This is interesting that you used vinyl for the inside as well. Do you notice that itâs the same, more or less bulky than using cotton/wpc/anything else with interfacing??
I don't find it bulky. I prefer a bag with structure, so it helps me achieve the feel I like. I only do this with smaller bags.

Your daughterâs bag is adorable and I do like your pattern. That being said because the making of this bag is different I think it may have been more helpful if you would have used vinyl for the exterior and wpc for the lining as suggested in the pattern. Using the turn lock for the video would be helpful as well. Thanks
Why would using vinyl have been more helpful? It would have been the exact same video regardless of material. This pattern can be made with all fabrics.
