    Good information. As someone who is licensed for pest control, please remember to read the label like Allyn suggests and wear your PPE. This stuff can be pretty miserable if you get it on your scalp or face especially when it’s hot out and your sweating. It can cause a burning sensation that last for hours and it’s painful. Also, rotate your chemical classes. What I mean by that is don’t use synthetic pyrethroids like Bifen IT or Talstsr exclusively. Use a natural or botanical product like Esentria or EcoRaider ER-3 every other application so that the pests don’t develop a resistance to the pesticide. Follow the labels and don’t mix it stronger than it suggests. If these products are overused and abused we will all be screwed. The pests will be resistant to the product and we won’t have anything to control them because we don’t have any more formulations. Please be good stewards of the environment.

    • @austindouglas13
      @austindouglas13 Před 4 lety +7

      The Tekko Pro would reduce the chances of resistance due to the MOA. But I agree, alternating different products with different MOA's is essential

      Ditch The Itch would it be a good idea to mix tekko pro with esentria then? Currently i do talstar p + tekko pro 2 weeks after termix does their spray so i get coverage every 2 weeks, once a month from me, once a month from termix. I want to rotate in esentria or eco raider ec3 (which is better btw?) and am thinking maybe still mix in tekko pro

    Pest Tech here- one thing about products (microcare cs) for spiders is that they only work for direct contact and not as a residual because spiders don't groom themselves like ants and roaches, so they won't ingest it once they crawl over it.

    Just a quick tip... I used Bifen I/T for a while, but wasn’t pleased with the length of time it lasted. I switched to Bifen XTS (same active ingredient, but oil based instead of water based) this year, and it has made a HUGE difference. For a place like Florida with lots of rainfall, it may be worth a try.

    Mega thanks to you, Allyn ! I live in Tampa, so we face the same pests here. Asian Tiger Mosquitos were very aggressive in my yard. I used the combo of Bifen IT and Tekko Pro as you described. The only change I had was to increase Bifen IT to 2 ounces per gallon, as the package insert stated the range for mosquito control ranged from 1 to 2 ounces. I used a Ryobi electric pump sprayer to distribute the liquid throughout my yard. Prior to spraying, I routinely would get about 100 mosquito bites while working in the yard for a couple hours. One week after spraying, that decreased to only 5 bites within 4 hours. And 2 weeks afterward, I got NO insect bites of any kind within 4 hours of outdoor activity. I was really stunned, that after living here over 20 years, my yard is finally usable. Even last night, I was outside goofing around for an hour, and still got ZERO bites ! Thank you very much for making this video. You improved the enjoyment of my house tremendously !

  • @dinabrown6529
    @dinabrown6529 Před 3 lety +1

    Im about to do this on my property. The only change I would make is I was told to start at the house area first. The reason being that if you start in the lawn or perimeter of the yard the pest will run to the safe areas by the house. Chances being good that some will find their way in, I try to avoid chemicals in the house. So I was told to start at the home and work my way out.

    If the sniper does produce the fine mist like the first contraption id definitely be interested in it. Great video. My wife runs the office at a exterminating company and got the inside scoop on what products they use. Suspend SC is the best product in my opinion for around the house. It last by drying and leaving crystals and any pest that touches it croaks. Great stuff, i highly recommend it. I basically do exactly what you did but also shoot the bottom of my baseboards throughout the interior of my home. I have pets and children and its perfectly safe. I can't remember seeing ANY bugs in i can't remember when 💪

    The $500 machine distributes the liquid much better which ends up saving on chemicals , and can impact plants less . However, I did notice it cannot shoot far to reach high places. The DYI system is good but fails to distribute well, it acts like a high -pressure hose , they need to improve it by adding a liquid misting head. The DYI system has the advantage of becoming cordless if your blower is gas or battery operated. Great video . Thumbs up.

    Allyn, for those spiders in your pool cage, I found a great solution that you almost did in this video. Using the Petra Fogger mix up the Bifen and Tekpro, same formula you used outside, fog the aluminum cage on the inside where the spiders live. It absolutely destroys them. It works so good for me, I would never use the web brush on my pool pole again. The spiders are gone for months. Btw, you need a helper to keep the electric cord out of the pool, make sure your plugged into GFI circuit for safety, unless you have a cordless fogger, while spraying, and I recommend wide brim hat, safety glasses and respirator since you fogging up high, and it can drift. For nearly 20 years, I was wiping them down with the web brush, dealing with spiders running everywhere, and they would be back in a few weeks.

    I de-web first and then I'll treat with my B&G. I don't apply any chemicals to my brush because you'll end up smearing the dirt with the liquid and it's going to make look dirty.
    I use Suspend Polyzone in the summer and Suspend SC in the winter. Suspend Polyzone residual last longer. I don't recommend oil-based products because eventually it'll start accumulating dust and dirt and it's not going to look dirty. If this happens to you once in awhile I would use Bifen-IT.

    If you paint the ceilings a true sky blue, the insects stay away from the ceiling. It’s incredible. We do it in Houston for mud dobbers and spiders.

    Here in Tampa. I didn't even realize there was chemicals to spray around the house to help keep mosquitoes away. These things are annoying. I have a pump sprayer I could use and been raking leaves to burn and trimming as much as possible

    The lawn & Pest company I used to pay used Bifen XTS for the lawn and perimeter pest, and Bifen IT for tree & shrub apps.......I am doing the same, although I do not know the difference between the two formulations other then the smell. Do you know what the difference is between the two? Thank you for this video, very informative. The realization of how little these products cost compared to paying for these services professionally, really allowed me to make the jump to doing my own lawn care , as well as my pest control. There is more profit made here compared to the lawn portion of the business, but I guess they need to allow a lot of cushion for that customer that calls every week for a free re-treatment.

    Florida is a cesspool for insurance scams like that. I used to work at a BIG insurance company and we would get tons and tons of glass claims from FL residents. These companies would set up everywhere, say they found window chips and that insurance covers them for free so the customer would let them do it. Well, if the customer doesn't have the correct coverage it isn't covered, but that wouldn't stop these companies from trying to sue.

    Would this kill beneficial insects for the vegetable garden? Or do you just not spray around there?
