    i explained practical How to repair computer ATX switch mode power supply SMPS very easy. this PSU had no output on STBY +5V standby missing, short circuit in input section, the fuse burnt out.

    i shared my easiest and perfect troubleshooting techniques to repair computer AT or ATX power supply, i found rectifier diodes, fuse, power transistor, diodes in standby inverter section. smps concept and troubleshooting repairing or understanding repair switching mode power supply basics and working principle. how to troubleshoot input electromagnet induction filter, EMI, bridge rectifier and capacitor. we get 330 VDC at main capacitor. after hat the +330 volts are applied to standby power, which is SMPS and makes +5V SB, these stand by voltage are applied to motherboard which pull down the PS ON green wire to zero level, so the ENABLE OR REMOTE ON or CONTROL pin of #smps will go low that will enable pulse width modulation. and also i discussed smps basics. after watching this video you can capable to:-

    Very good video , I will impatiently wait for next video.I have got one ATX SMPS where stand by voltage is 5V and when ps on is shorted then SMPS starts for few minutes and then it stops.what will be the reason ,may be short capacitors on secondary side or elsewhere.please guide.

      if it stops after few minutes, then there is possibility of leakage of output capacitors or rectifiers
      try to re-solder POWER MOSFETs, Power transformer, and power rectifiers in secondary section
      i will share the next part of the video very soon

      if your ATX supply have any comparator like LM339 or LM358 check its +ve supply from SB voltage
      and check that 5 volt from secondary power supply is fed to this comparator to generate PG signal.
      or if this ATX have supervisor ic to generate PG signal, then trace its circuit to sense volts for Power good signal

    I have 8 pins 290 watts psu. In my case this only 5 volts is low to 4.73 volts. The problem is, my computer remains turn on for few minutes then suddenly turns off (power out), then again restarts after few minutes.
    In other wires i have perfect 12 volts.
    How I diagnosed that I have faulty a PSU. I replace this PSU with other 280 watts atx 24 pins using connector. Now, my pc is working fine with old psu.
    But i want to repair its own built-in psu.

    I have an ATX Uranus power supply, and it never turns off, I've already changed 3 motherboards, and the defect is always the same, it's always on, I checked that the green wire is in a short circuit with all the black wires. How can I resolve this? Could it be the output electrolytic capacitor? Could it be the optocoupler? Could it be from the integrated output control circuit?

      When green wire is connected to ground then Power supply turns on
      If it is short circuited with black wire it will keep PSON command pullled down
      Check voltage on green wire, it must above 2.5 volt
      If there are 2.5 volt and power supply remains on, then trace the circuit might be power supply supervisor ic is problematic
      In case you are unable to find 2.5 volt or above on green wire
      Then trace 5 volt standby section (purple wire and related portion to green wire)

      sometimes high frequency spikes having larger time period reach with line voltage and if there is no input filter EMI/RFI filter, and the spike width is larger than the diode's allowed limits, then
      in first half cycle one pair burns out and causes to short circuit at bulk capacitor
      if the fuse burning time is slow, it will case to damage the other pair as well
      now the main ac is directly connected to bulk polarized capacitor
      now there are 2 optiona
      1. fuse have to blow away. OR
      2. Main DC capacitor and next all circuit have to be damaged

    sir i do have ATX power supply, in which ps on green wire have 4.0 volt but when i short green to black , no witching and fan not spinning, i open tested bridge rectifier ok out put got 330 volt dc, same voltage i am getting on output capasitor which is 450v 180uf....what do you think have solution?
