  • This one was a lot of fun and also a lot of weird! Join me in this episode of Exploring the Metaverse as I look at VRChat and become Joel from The Last of Us, battle zombies in the Wild West, play Tron with a medieval knight, listen to JFK and a penguin do karaoke, and hang out with Superman and a giant parrot in space. Only in the metaverse!

This is just the content for quest standalone. If you connect your quest to your gaming PC with a link cable you'd get to experience way more things. There is a lot, like more amazing worlds, avatars , clubs, music events with live DJ's , people dancing in fbt, etc.

    i should note
any similarity will be whatever metaverse copying vrchat instead of the other way around
vrchat is basically ancient, a lot of the things you're seeing are old already
vrchat also started the portal thing

Btw most of the core player base (that logs in regularly) are not in public worlds. They’re in an underground network of friends+ worlds lol, everyone is somehow connected to everyone else. Best way to get into that, is to find a nice trusted user, friend them and ask them to show you around.

Quick example, I dance hip hop in VRChat with full body, our community the IDA (international dance association) has about a 1000 members with all kinds of dance style from hip hop to breakdance to pole dancing. There are dance crews and there we have regular dance battles and cyphers.

    VRchat is indeed fun.
Some say the kids make it bad, but I don't think so. Most of the kids are fairly chill. And despite the complaints any may have about the annoying ones, they can be blocked easy. If people don't stress over it not all being to their liking, it's a good time.
It is by it's name sake, a place to talk, in VR. Among other fun things to do in it also.

Hello! I enjoyed the video VRChat is my favourite social vr platform as you said it's nothing serious I just like to meet my friends there also you can really get creative while creating the worlds and avatars although it requires some skill with Unity to make them.
Aand if you thought VRChat was cool I can recommend you to try Neos VR it's something like VRChat but it's at least 10 years ahead of it or any existing social vr platform. The downside to it is that it's menu can be confusing but If you'll decide to give it a try then I recommend to find someone out there that would be willing to show you how everything works. Creativity has no boundaries there

Nice vid! Def are right about the public worlds being a 50/50 chance of ending up somewhere weird. However most of the playerbase actually uses the PC worlds, clubs, communities more than the public quest only worlds. If you think you enjoyed it with just the quest by itself then you're gonna freak out when you see how different the actual meat of the playerbase is cause its mostly a lot of chill people who hang out, drink, watch movies, and just talk about day to day stuff here's a good video on just a few more things you could do or check out any of the big VRC content creators that also do stuff on here! Cheers! czcams.com/video/4UBmmpt5iJ8/video.html

^ this for sure. along with seeing the creativity in avatars. most of the ones he saw were fallbacks since he didn't have them shown but quest can't even see most of the amazing things avatar creators have been able to add to avatars

I've been playing VRChat for over 2 years now (started back in pandemic in 2022)
Met ton of amazing people as well as made new friends there, had ton of fun
and it really bother me why so many people ignore it when talking about metaverses, cause VRC has been out since 2016, it has massive playerbase and lot of content to explore, and has been deweloped really far since it's release as opoosed to most of today "metaverse" platforms
so maybe here anybody from has idea why so many people just ignore VRChat despite massive impact it has on VR industry

    • @glenfoxh

I would say, many are confused as to what option to try first, with so many out there. Some happen to get into one, and don't leave it. That was the case with me. I joined VRchat just a day before the EAC was put into place, and know many left VRchat due to that for others VR spaces such as NEOS, Chilout VR, and others.
I have a Chilout account, and have explored it a little, but felt more at home with VRchat, and spent 98% of my time in VRchat, instead of any others.
As for what people talk about on CZcams, I do see more people talk about VRchat than any of the others. But that could also be due to CZcams suggesting them to me to see.

@@glenfoxh There was a lot of talk about people leaving VR Chat, but if you look at the actual user data the game didn't even lose 5% of it's players, and in the short time since has gained more players than it lost. Mostly it was just all hot air from toxic sub community, that none of the regular users actually want back.

And you know what more fun than play VRchat ? create VRchat contents lol 😄. Basically when you play everything you want and still can't find a place to stay then you will be "fine , i will do it myself" Create your own place , create your own avatar.

I have been on it for over three months now, and yes, it is as he said it is, it's like the wild west.
And kids run wiled in it also. For those they feel they need it, you can fully block anyone, so you can't see or here them anymore. And if you blocked someone by mistake, you can go to your online account menu, and open a list of those you have blocked where you can unblock them again.
You can, and likely will run into some NSFW content. So yes, the place can get to be that kind of wiles at times. It also depends on who you meet.
