- The Pöstlingbergbahn is a tramway in Linz/Austria - the steepest adhesion railway in the world.
In 2009, the gauge had been changed from 1000 to 900 mm - this allowed to extend the line to the main square.
At Mühlkreisbahnhof station, there is also an admission-free Pöstlingbergbahn museum. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I was in Linz in May 2017 and saw the great commitment there has been made to transit systems in Austria and notably the Linz area.
Qualität des Video`s = sehr gut !
This is a real hidden gem of a line! Thank you for posting this - another "thing to do!" when next over there.
Linz is very beauty city. I traveled by tram (august 2018) through Vienna. I like your trams.
Excellent video, I traveled on it in 1996 before conversion, thanks for posting.
Great upload. If you are ever in San Francisco, California, take a ride on the Powel cabel car route to Fisherman's warf. As a child I rode it, not aware that the little cars were attached to a moving underground cable which moved at a constant speed. Going down hill the first time I was quite frightend! After I understood the concept and that the 'gripman' could release the car and administer the brakes when nessesarry, I could ride it without being frightened. It's still a thril.
I live here :)
Another great video! Keep them coming! :)
Really nice video, enjoyed every second of it ;)
Super Video!
Der alten Bahn haben sie ja offenbar auch einen neuen Antrieb spendiert, das passt vom hören her nicht soo zusammen;D
Wow; very nice!!!
The voice of the stops announcer creeps me out.
Good video though and looks like a nice tram and nice place too.
I live here and its mostly VERRRY loud in trains with almost no people. In trams you barely hear Them like in metro
Nice! =)
Very good film! Thank you for sharing. Take care!
...anwar...
Great, I want to go there :)
Congratulations
Wooow, love it :D
What beautiful trains. Nicely designed and built. Well maintained. Exemplary. Why isn't it covered in graffiti?
how does it pull itself uphill? I see tracks and i'm only familiar with trains and a train on a steep gradient makes no sense. Wheel slip ect;
It's one of the steepest tram routes in the world without a rope
What's the gradient?
That "next stop" voice sounds a bit scary.
